We are very sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with the care provided – we ask our clients to let their Care Managers know whenever they have any concerns so that we may address them right away. We also understand that sometimes a caregiver just isn’t a good fit and finding the right one occasionally takes a couple tries. We are always willing to do what we can to meet the needs of our clients and work with them. One way we do this is to ask our clients for detailed information on what they need completed, this way we can put all of this information into their unique Plan of Care that we require our caregivers to follow.

We do our best to match our clients with caregivers that they are comfortable with and enjoy – we try to focus on creating a “team” of caregivers that go into the home on a consistent schedule as sometimes their schedules with other clients and the frequency of care makes it so that one individual isn’t always available. We also listen to preferences such as gender but in the event of something like a caregiver illness it is not always possible to meet all those preferences on short notice. We always obtain the client’s permission when sending an unexpected replacement.

Provider Response
Our caregivers range in age, gender, and background – and finding the right caregiver isn’t a one-size-fits-all process! We strive to provide our clients with caregivers who are a good match based on their schedule, level of experience, and temperament. The people we send out are qualified and able to do light housekeeping and personal care, we don't do heavy chores or chores that require climbing on ladders. Sometimes though it just isn’t a good fit and when a Client informs us our dedicated Coordinators will work to find a new match as quickly as possible.

We are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied. We strive to resolve any issues or concerns as quickly as possible when a Client expresses it to their Care Manager. We aim to improve the quality of life for those we serve which includes our caregivers, much of the cost of care goes back to providing our caregivers with competitive income and benefits.

We certainly understand the unique challenges of mild dementia and whenever possible we set up a regular schedule of caregivers. 30 minute shifts do make it more challenging to set that consistency up; whenever possible we strive to keep the number of caregivers going through the home to a minimum.

Thank you for your feedback and it is truly valued. We work hard to keep caregivers and clients matched well and consistent. Many times clients have a particular caregiver they really like. When clients’ needs change, their personal caregiving plans change too. If the new plans have a large increase in hours, especially 24-hour care, it often requires multiple caregivers to meet their needs. We realize this can be difficult for clients getting cognitive support and will always do our best to be consistent with caregivers who provide support.

We do our best to match our clients with the right caregiver based on factors such as location, skill level, and temperament. Despite best efforts, it’s not always a good fit and we completely understand; when a client informs us that there is not a good fit we do our best to replace the caregiver with another one as quickly as possible.

We are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with our efforts to respond to your urgent request for care for your father in hospice. End-of-life situations are particularly stressful for the family members and we do our best to reduce that stress level in everything we do. We are sorry that that was not the case for your experience with us. We normally require 7 days to service a new client but will make an exception in urgent cases. The urgency surcharge is used to pay overtime and extra incentives to staff a shift on short notice. We never guarantee that we can fill an urgent shift, only that we will do our best to staff it and, If we cannot staff it, we do not charge for it. About Right at Home Northwest Washington
Right at Home provides in-home caregiving services for thousands of families across the nation. We offer companionship and help with everyday tasks that have become challenging for an aging person. This may include things like meal preparation, laundry, housekeeping, hygiene and grooming. We also offer services for those with special care situations caused by numerous medical conditions such as Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. Custom Care Plan
From the moment you call, we begin considering the specific needs of your loved one. We ask questions during the initial call or meeting to form a basic needs assessment. After discussing your particular situation, we will prepare an initial Custom Care Plan and then work with you to fine tune that Care Plan based on your loved one's specific needs. Once the plan is agreed upon, your local Right at Home team matches the right caregiver to implement the plan.
Caregiver Training and Care Supervision
Every Right at Home caregiver goes through an extensive interview process, including background checks. Once hired, caregivers are trained through Right at Home University to ensure that they're able to deliver the care set out in your loved one's Custom Care Plan. Before providing care, they're bonded and insured.
