We want each and every one of our clients to have a fulfilling day where they feel good about themselves and look forward to what tomorrow can bring. Concurrently, we address all personal hygiene, food preparation and light household tasks. Personally, I get a tremendous sense of satisfaction when family members tell me that their loved ones appreciate and feel good about the care they are receiving from Shalanda Home Care, where we will not settle for anything but premium in-home care. Biography After spending more than 15 years of caring for the elderly, mostly in long term care facilities, my experiences brought to light that our senior citizens deserve a different, more personal type of care, and a more nurturing and caring approach that addresses one’s individual needs, preferably in the comfort of one’s own home. In thinking about it, I knew there had to be a different approach. The isolation from being alone for endless hours results in the desire for the elderly to just have someone that they can talk with, not just in the morning or evening, but a continuum of interacting with others. Someone to take the time to show them the love, respect and dignity they deserve. Someone to hold their hand, listen to them and take that journey with them down memory lane. Companionship is integral to the caring of the elderly. This, in addition to ensuring that they are safe, secure and comfortable, are the very acute needs of this population.
