What I like the most about Avalon Square is the staff. They are amazing, compassionate, insightful, truly caring, patient, and communicative. We were so impressed with them. My dad and stepmom moved into independent living several months ago. Sadly, my dad is in the throes of dementia and he will be moving into the memory care wing soon, but they will be in the same building, which is a great benefit. In the independent living, the cost seems a little steep. However, I still highly recommend it - it's a terrific place with terrific people!

I have been to Avalon Square. It was a good experience. I had minimal interaction with the staff, but I think they were all good. The ones I met were very, very courteous, responsive, and attentive. The facilities were very clean and very nice. The dining area was cafeteria-style, but it was nice and welcoming.

We found a place for my cousin, and she is in Avalon Square in Waukesha. It is a Presbyterian home; it is beautiful and wonderful. She’s got good care there. She was crying when she went in there on Monday; this all happened so fast because she had a small stroke, so we had to find a place quick, but everything os doing good now. It’s downtown Waukesha, so a lot of things going on; it's kind of a fun area, and the people there are wonderful. She needs some physical therapy, and they’ve got a company called Health Ridge that has a physical therapist straight within the building, so she doesn’t have to go out. And then she needs a flu shot, and they said the people are coming here for a flu shot. She needs a podiatrist, and they come in once a month. Everything is there, just wonderful. The nurse, the guides, and the aides are just wonderful. There’s chair Olympics, trivia, and movie every Saturday night, and Wednesday they had free chocolate malts at the café which she loves. They have some craft activities, but she has only been there for four days. Every day I visit her, and she is happier and happier. The food is wonderful. We had dinner with her on Monday evening, and it was just a wonderful dinner. They could order whatever they want for breakfast. She just gets 2 meals a day; she chose breakfast and supper. It’s really a wonderful place. Every person that lives there introduced themselves to Judy and said she'd love it.

We were fortunate to hook up my mom at the Avalon Square. It was my first choice because of its proximity to my home, and I've heard very good things about it from people I know. Then, I went and toured the facility and I was very impressed with it and with the staff. I was treated just very, very well and ever since my mom has moved in there, we have been very pleased with it. It has really proven to be a very caring place and it has been very comfortable for her. It just really proved to be the best choice for us.
