"I went to Care Partners Assisted Living in Hortonville. The setting is beautiful. There are plants and fountains out the windows, and there are patios. It's in a very, very nice area with lots of land. It's not like in the neighborhood. It's got land around it. The director was thorough in her tour, totally knowledgeable, and answered all of our questions. When I called her back since then, she answered all my questions. They have a craft room. They have movies with popcorn and soda. According to the neighbors and people I know, the high school, middle school, and grade school come in. They try to get somebody in once a month to do some little performance or something for the people in the assisted living so that they have some kind of entertainment."

"Care Partners Assisted Living in Appleton is a very nice place. We got a good feeling about the place and it was positive. The staff was very good. It seemed like they have a good assortment of activities."

"The rooms are adequate. The food is awful. There are no activities. There are no housekeepers. I couldn't get help with anything. They constantly messed up my medications and towards the end of my stay they didn't have my medications. Some staff were nice, most were abusive. Glad I left"

"It was a clean place. The staff was real good, but it's just that they didn't have what we were looking for, which was a two-bedroom apartment. What they could offer us was, you have to go out to the hall to get to the second room, and my husband and I didn't like that idea. It's a nice area, but it was just a little far away from what we wanted to be, and that was another problem."

"The person who showed us around at Caring Hands Assisted Living was very informative and very pleasant. It's a very nice facility, very clean, with lots of activities for their people. It did not fit my husband's purpose because he needs more help than just assisted living, but I would recommend it. It seemed like a very pleasant and friendly place. Their rooms were very nice and spacious, everything was very clean and neat, bright, sunny, and pleasant conditions. I was able to see studios. They were playing bingo in the main common area with lots of people participating. They also have several other little rooms where people can go and watch TV."

"Preston Place seemed a little bit rundown, and I think I got that feeling because not all of the lights in the hallway were on because it's not 100 percent full, it's probably like 70 percent full. I know they had some administrative issues that they explained to me they were working through, and they had new people in charge, and it was getting better. The room was really good, but the dining room had a Christmas tree in it, which was kind of weird, and it didn't look like it was being used that much. The person that gave the tour was the building manager, and she was wonderful. She answered all my questions right down to how many cable stations there were. She was very accommodating. Basically, she stopped what she was doing, and gave me the tour right then and there. So, it was kind of nice to see it just as it was. It was good; that was a good experience. I did speak with the intake nurse, and she gave quite a bit of information, and she was very accommodating as well. They were very helpful. They told us about all the programs here in Wisconsin, and that was really helpful. That was about the only interaction I had with staff there. The gathering area was very nice and very clean. Because my mom has a hard time in long distances, we sat in that room. It was very clean, very inviting, and very sunny. It was very nice. The facility was very clean, but it was pretty dark, and that was kind of a weird thing."

"We visited Arborview Manor while in the region looking at facilities for our uncle. The outer exterior appeared very well maintained. The grounds were nicely landscaped, with tree-lined walkways and areas for seating. They had ample communal rooms for many activities like library, exercise, card games, crafting and in-house meetings. We could see that the residents had plenty of interesting ways to occupy their time. This facility can accommodate a variety of ambulation levels and as a resident's needs change, care can be shifted accordingly. The fitness center was very impressive, with regular exercise classes, and personal trainers to ensure safety while assisting the seniors in every way they can. The menus all had healthy food options for all kinds of diets. Healthy snacks are offered all day and into the evening, as well as whenever residents request them. The dining room was quite nice, with plenty of space. The food we saw looked and smelled delicious. All units were well designed, efficient and yet still spacious. The living spaces were lovely and beautifully decorated with lots of fresh air and light. This is a very nicely designed living environment for seniors that includes everything they need to have a vibrant life. We were impressed with how well the staff interacted with the residents. "

"Evergreen is state of the art with swimming pools and so forth. I have a lot of friends there. Everybody loves it. Their apartments are small compared to others. They have condos which were what I was seriously looking at. They’re very good but not excellent for what they offer. They’re expensive, and Oshkosh is not an expensive town. The residents are very content. They have no complaints at all. It’s mostly those of us who are looking at it who would find reasons not to go. I participate in their activities as a part of the community so I know their activities, I know their food, I know their staff. I know the quality of everything so I can speak with an outside eye. "

"Gabriel’s Villa was very nice, and that was my mother’s first choice. The staff seemed very nice and professional. We had lunch there, and the food was good. The residents were friendly too. The drawback was they don’t have a lot of transportation to other places, and they only went to Walmart once a month. The rooms were laid out nicely. "

"The building was the first of two properties. The second was still being built. I was evaluating the quality of the CNAs as well as the atmosphere of the residents. I think most of the residents were happy with all of the activities provided and seemed to like the food very much. They had an opportunity to go outside and the ambiance in that part of town is gorgeous. There are lots of lovely trees in the fall that are changing colors. This would be a great place for my parents to put down for their future wishes. Easy access to highway 45 and 41 now that the road construction is done. I would highly recommend. "

"Centennial Inn Senior Living Community, is located in the lovely historic downtown area of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. We visited the facility while searching for a place for our aunt to live in the area. We liked the grand exterior with its stately wraparound porch. It looked like a large estate, rather than place where seniors live. The outside area was very nicely maintained. The facility can accommodate all levels of ambulation. The foyer featured a closed in porch which gave access to the outdoors while inside, with fresh air and natural light. Decorations and furniture were all lovely and easy to access. The colors throughout the building were soothing and comfortable. All of the indoor rooms had plenty of fresh air and light. Each room was beautifully decorated and furnished. Communal activity rooms were spacious, with comfortable furniture and nice decors. The main living room had plenty of light with a cozy fireplace. Activities are designed around the things that residents enjoy. The seniors can easily socialize, play games, watch TV and films and participate in many stimulating activities. The exercise room features aerobics and yoga classes and nice equipment to use. The residents go on many trips to visit local and surrounding art galleries and museums, and also eat at casual and fine restaurants. Large built in wood cabinets graced the dining area, which gave it a really homey feel.The dining room was quite nice, with plenty of space. The food we saw looked and smelled delicious. The menus all had healthy food options for all kinds of diets. Healthy snacks are offered all day and into the evening, as well as whenever residents request them. The private rooms featured plenty of air, light and space in nicely decorated surroundings and comfortable furniture. The residents looked very well cared for and content in this living environment with and considerate and kind staff. "

"I toured Bella Vista. Rebecca met me and took me on a tour of two living quarters in the building. One was larger than the other one. Then she showed me the library and the hospitality area and talked to me about the events they have for the residents. The library looks nice and comfortable, but I don't want to be in a place that large. It had a lot of different residents."

"Summit House assisted living facility was one of the places we visited while in Wisconsin looking at facilities for our uncle. The grounds were beautifully landscaped. The tree-lined walkways looked peaceful and easy to navigate. The lovely exterior looked like a colonial estate. The decor of the entire facility was quite nice. They had many community rooms including a lovely library and many other rooms like ones for parties, events and private gatherings where seniors could reserve them. The equipment is nicely maintained and easy to use. The exercise center includes daily yoga and aerobics exercise classes. The generous living spaces were well designed with a fresh feel and plenty of fresh air and natural light. The food we saw looked and smelled delicious. The menus all had healthy food options for all kinds of diets. Healthy snacks are offered all day and into the evening, as well as whenever residents request them. The dining room had beautiful furnishings with plenty of space. The many planned activities feature everything from exercise classes to book readings and arts and crafts. The residents are taken to many interesting cultural events in Oshkosh for everything from music and art to other cultural gatherings regularly. The staff sees that the seniors have a variety of stimulating activities to participate in. The staff was kind and caring to all of the residents that we saw -- of varying capability. It is clear that all of the residents' needs are met here. This is a well designed, home-style living environment with very caring and kind staff. "
