Memory Care Communities in Neenah, WI

"I went to Care Partners Assisted Living in Hortonville. The setting is beautiful. There are plants and fountains out the windows, and there are patios. It's in a very, very nice area with lots of land. It's not like in the neighborhood. It's got land around it. The director was thorough in her tour, totally knowledgeable, and answered all of our questions. When I called her back since then, she answered all my questions. They have a craft room. They have movies with popcorn and soda. According to the neighbors and people I know, the high school, middle school, and grade school come in. They try to get somebody in once a month to do some little performance or something for the people in the assisted living so that they have some kind of entertainment."

"My father has moved in. The people have been great. The administrator is great, and the staff has done a good job with him. He only has one bedroom because it's memory care. He's more with it than most of the people there. They usually would have people come in and play the piano. The facility is good."

"Angel's Touch Assisted Living was absolutely fabulous. I didn't have any complaints. They were very caring. We had a four-day blizzard while he was there and I was very worried because I couldn't get there. I thought they must be shorthanded. One of the owners went out in their truck and picked up the workers and brought them home. They really liked my husband. There were times when we rang the bell that they didn't come immediately because they were caring for someone else, but they certainly tried. I couldn't ask for more. They fed them well and checked on them constantly. The staff was wonderful, caring, knowledgeable, and even new people who came in were learning things. They didn't have a big turnover. It was so clean. They had very nice religious services and they had activities, but he didn't really take part in most of that."

"My grandmother was at this facility for many years, she has since passed. The care my grandmother received was beyond my mother’s expectations. We will forever be grateful for Wyndemere and their team for the love and compassion they showed my grandmother."

"My dad has been in CopperStone Assisted Living & Memory Care. I like, best of all, that it's newer. Second of all, my dad does not speak. He had a stroke, and they do their best to communicate and see what he needs. And then they always kind of like, wink, they talk like, in little dance moves rather than talking to him, or they know enough to ask yes or no questions to help him get his needs met, like at meals and things like that. Yesterday, when we were there, they had a singer there who was playing his guitar. My dad chooses not to do that. He likes to stay in his room. But as I was leaving, I joined the group, because there were a couple of ladies there that I liked; we brought our dog there and they loved our dog. So we sat there with them for about 20 minutes. We sang all the songs with them, and so we had a blast. They make a phone call to ask a question, and they get right back to me. They're very good at that. They're very, very good with what they do so far. I'm very pleased. The building is gorgeous, 'cause it's new, it's beautiful, and they keep it looking so nice. They had a podiatrist come out, they took care of his feet, which was nice. There's a day to do their fingernails, and there's a whole line of women waiting. It's more musical, with people playing the piano, and others listening. They have a calendar of events that I take with me every month just to see if there's something that I can try to talk dad into doing."

"I came across Sterling House from the Caring website. It was a small house, and they have a maximum of 20 people. It was a small, tight knit community, and the personal service is really nice. The food is home cooked right there. The rooms are nice and not as big as my mom was used to, but their whole philosophy is that it’s a bedroom and they want the people to be out. They have a nice living room, a nice dining room, and a den. They have an open area porch in between the two wings with bushes and trees. It’s a very nice, homey situation, and we’re really happy with it. They have Bingo, and they play cards and show movies in the living room. I suggest activities on the weekends. "

"Matthews has three buildings, so it's more of a smaller community within each building. One building is dedicated to memory care. I liked the facility in general -- the layout, the size of the rooms, just the way things are set up. I also felt that they had a really good memory care program. The only thing that scared me away from them in the beginning was the location. The dining area wasn't extremely large, but I thought it was a nice size for the amount of residents that they had there, so I thought it was very nice. "

"Care Partners Assisted Living in Fox Crossing - Neenah is amazing. Everybody's so friendly. Brenda is the director there. She is amazing, too. My mom was not thrilled to go, but she's made friends and goes to every meal where they meet. She's got a beautiful room there. It's nice because she had all of her own things that she had in her apartment before all of this happened. The room is big enough so that she's got her own bathroom. It's nice. They come in every day and they clean. They have activities. They have this really nice transport vehicle, like one of those short buses, where it's got a lift in it and everything, and it can fit 8 or 10 people in a wheelchair. It's nice and very clean. All the residents there are very friendly. The staff is amazing. It's great and my mom's happy. The food is all homemade meals and they're really nice. It's not a huge place. There are about 35 residents or something. It's beautiful and real personable. The first day that I was there with her, we had lunch together and the food was really good. Their calendar is full. The price is very reasonable."

"Touchmark on West Prospect was very nice and very complete. They did have a lot to offer as far as services, but it was too expensive. They have apartments. The staff is very nice, very helpful. They did have a restaurant cafe there, a gym, a pool, and organized entertainment. So whether it was like exercise classes that are going on, a field trip type of thing, they had a lot to offer as far as that goes."

"We toured. It was very nice inside. I really liked the looks of it. The only thing I didn't like was how big and sprawled out it was. From the empty room we saw, it was such a long walk to the elevator to get down to the main floor and then to the dining hall. They seemed really pushy and wanted us to sign papers right away. They had a separate area for people with dementia, who were more locked in. It was clean and homey-looking. "

"We got a recommendation from a person that we had dealt with before, and we have gone with Eagle Court. My mom is moving soon. It's outstanding. It is a memory care unit. The actual apartment is 400 square feet a piece. The layout is very nice, the kitchen area is very nice, and the bathroom is very nice. I would describe it as a studio apartment. The room itself is very well laid out with nice colors. It's very open and very spacious. The kitchenette is in there. It's got beautiful finishes for the cabinetry. I met three of their staff and all three of them are extremely knowledgeable, very pleasant, very hospitable, and very caring. I think their healthcare is going to be outstanding, as well as the socialization of the residents is going to be outstanding."

"We went to The Courtyard at Oshkosh and talked in a conference room. The gentleman told us about things and gave us a brochure to look through. The rooms were on the small side, but they were very nice and clean. Everything smelled nice and fresh. The person giving me a tour went past where the dining area and things were and as we were going down the walkway through areas, he would just point at them and did not stop to give you a chance to look around at them. So, it was a very fast short tour. They have a pond and one of the residents had a good view of it, while the other room didn't. However, the room was set up more for someone with a wheelchair. So, it was handicapped-accessible and the one by the pond was not. They're all private rooms. If you were living there and paying the rent. It's the same as having an apartment anywhere else. If you want to put pictures up or have plants in your room, you could do that."

"My in-laws are currently living at Aspire Senior Living. It's very nice. The apartment is very nice and spacious enough. The staff members have been very great. They have been very attentive, helpful, and friendly. However, my in-laws are not very happy with the food, but they're coming from cooking their own food and it's not the same. They have several activities every day. They have card games, bingo, shopping, chair yoga exercising, happy hour on Fridays, and some different entertainment during the week. The place is very nice and clean, too."

"Frontida of Kimberly Assisted Living and Memory Care was very clean, cheery, and bright. There were lots of windows and it was easy to get around. They had a beautiful sunroom and a nice patio with gardens in the back. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful. The staff who assisted us with the tour was very helpful, answered all our questions, followed up a day or two later to see if we had any more questions, and offered ways to work with us. Overall, we thought this place was very nice."
