The apartments looked spacious and well taken care of. We looked at two-bedroom apartments. They had very nice menus and food for everyone. They had some nice-looking areas for doing crafts and other activities. They had a nice library, areas for movies, and other activities. It looked like I'd move in there if I needed it."

"My father lives in Frontida of Germantown. They seem to be very caring, very patient, and very good. My father's room is just fine. The public areas are very nice. The dining room is well set up for the people in the facility. They do bingo, and other games and get them in the common area to do exercises. The grounds are very nice and well kept up, too."

"Ellen's Home of Germantown was very nice. They were very friendly. They were accommodating. We discussed different issues and personal belongings, and they were very accommodating and tried to help solve how we could accommodate different things. Overall, they were just willing to help in any way, shape, or form. They were nicely laid out. Everything was clean. I didn't see anything in disrepair. Everything looked quite nice."

"We are choosing Ellen's Home of Germantown South for my husband because it seemed like a good fit for him. It was more sparsely populated and there was more room for him since people weren't right on top of each other. The place was very neat and the rooms were nice-sized. They had a bird aviary there, which was very interesting. It just looked like things were under control. No locks on the door, which was something different but necessary for some. The staff was very helpful and informative. Overall, it was a very good tour experience. It just felt right."

"The Deerview Meadows assisted living facility in Mayville, Wisconsin looked like a nice place to live. We were searching for a new home for our uncle. The exterior was really beautiful and it really looked like someone took the time to design the facility with the senior's needs in mind. The grounds were well manicured and accessible for safe use by the seniors.This facility had ample community rooms including a well-stocked library and a number of stimulating activities. The exercise center includes daily yoga and aerobics exercise classes. Residents may also safely navigate the lovely garden pathways and courtyards on the property. Private rooms were thoughtfully designed with beautiful living spaces that featured larger rooms and security features. The programs they have are designed to accommodate any level of ambulation and care, which changes easily according to the resident's needs. The dining room offers a nice variety of meal options, plus they will make special requests. There was also a healthy number of snacks available as requested. The calendar of events included arts, crafts, festivals, shopping, culture, eateries, art, music, library and films. The residents are also treated to many socials planned at the facility. The staff was very kind and accessible throughout our visit. They check on all of the residents regularly to ensure their safety and comfort. Clearly, the residents really enjoy living there and it looked like a great place for seniors to retire. "

"I liked that Serenity Villa V was a smaller community. It had private baths with showers. It had a lot of activities where the residents not only participated in the community but outside of the community as well. They had a therapy pet. I just really, really liked it. The rooms were fine and adequate. They were very similar to other communities I viewed. They had a dorm-size refrigerator in each room. What was very important to us was the private baths. They had a very cozy gathering space with a fireplace. They had a very inviting dining room. They had a very open community space that looked out onto their patio. Beyond the patio, which was very nice, was a little body of water. So, it was very picturesque."

"Wellington Place of Hartford was fine, and they have the same things as the community we picked. It was nice and clean, and everything was fine. They had good results and everybody seemed to like the place. The staff members they had were also good."

"My father moved into Cedar Community. They've done a terrific job watching him. They have done an outstanding job changing what they do for him in order to match where the disease is. I'm just very, very pleased with how he's doing there. His room is spacious. It holds all of the family heirlooms and things that he took with him from his home, and there's plenty of room. They have a garden that his room looks out to and he would be able to get out there come summertime and wander around the gardens that they have going. The common areas are nice, especially the restaurant that he uses. They have several larger group areas where they can do programs like bingo or different religious activities like praying the rosary. He goes down to the activities himself. They announce them when they're going to start, and he makes the effort to get down there. If it's something that is an exercise program that he should be attending, they go and actually search him out so that he takes advantage of it. The food is excellent. It's designed for the assisted living residents where they'll have a generous breakfast and a generous lunch, and then a little bit less for supper. People go to bed early and that keeps things like reflux at bay. It's not cheap, but I think he does very well there. And it's that kind of idea that it's worth the money if he's doing well."

"My wife has moved into Frontida Liberty House. We chose them because of the location and the staff-to-resident ratio, which is far superior to any place that I have seen in Fond du Lac. They had a bed available and that was critical. Yesterday, they had an interview with a client and I believe they accepted that person, so they have one more bed available. Bed availability was the number one key thing. Care quality is number two. The food is a big thing for people with memory issues and senior citizens. I have seen the food and the food is very acceptable. She has other health needs and the health needs are met according to what her medical conditions dictate. If the client does not like what is being served, they have excellent choices and it only takes minutes to have the alternative prepared and put in front of the resident. It's a 15-bed unit and I'm very pleased with the care level. The rooms are your typical nursing home size with a bed and closet. She has a shared bathroom with another room. It'd be like a Jack-and-Jill bathroom. There's another room for showering and cleaning. They also have a room if the ladies would want to have their hair done. They have that right onsite. They have a barber in the same room if it'd be a guy. It's all good. It is a secure building that you need to ring in. It is a locked door so that nobody can just come in. You are on camera when you come up there and you have to buzz in, and they have to know you to get in. Being that there are only 15 available beds, the dining area is done in a home-type setting. It's in a designated area and the other day, they just put the tables together and had one long table like you'd have yourself a family over for a meal and everybody sits at the table and all is good. There's a glass room. It is like a sunroom-type thing that is connected to the common area where they have a large TV. They have a couple of couches and chairs and they encourage all the residents to be out amongst themselves so that they do not isolate. They prefer non-isolation. They like to keep the people active with each other, so that then it is a community center for the residents. This is a memory dementia unit but they try to keep it as homey as possible. The staff are just so good. They have the ability to have snacks and whatever is provided that the residents ask for. They do the best that they can with maintenance."

"My parents are moving to New Perspective Senior Living. I like the floor plan, the amount of different activities and the amount of different social gathering places they had in the building. They have a unique floor plan that no one else has, they have a den which fit my parents. They feel better there than any place else. It's in town so it's close to shopping and activities that they would be going to. In a normal world they have a theater, they have a pool, they have a couple of outdoor spaces, and they have 2 or 3 indoor spaces that are social gathering places where they do activities. They have exercises every day. They just had a lot of different things that they can do. I like the décor, the atmosphere but the floor plan was the biggest factor for me."
