If you were independent, you could have your own care, but if time went on and you needed assistance, they could give you the additional care that you needed there. I believe they also had detached apartments, but we were in the main facility in assisted living. I got the impression that if my mom took one of the apartments, she could stay as independent, and if she ended up needing assistance, except with Alzheimer’s, she could stay in that room and didn’t have to move. That was one thing we liked about it, but it was over our budget. It was originally a hospital that they renovated. You could get a beautiful one- or two-bedroom apartment. The facility was absolutely gorgeous. We toured the dining room, workout room, and beauty salon. It was really nice. The staff was great, nice, and very pleasant. "

I keep myself busy by doing crafts. They play bingo. We make our own food. This is a security-locked building, so we don't have to worry about people coming in and disturbing us, and that's good. I've had a lot of help from these people. They could use better cleanliness. Everything in this apartment is included, like heat, water, utilities, and cable. They go according to your income. I'm very happy."

"I looked at Aspire Senior Living Oshkosh. It was brand new and very nice. They have somebody come in and help you clean. You would have your meals, and you have everything there that you would need. They had a nice little walking path north of the building, which was really nice. They had some outside space with little tables. There was a table on your apartment deck or patio. Some of the independent living apartments had washers and dryers, but all had refrigerators and microwaves. The staff who gave me the tour was very nice and very helpful."
