"I like The Grand Residence at Upper St Clair because they have spacious accommodations for the residents. Their apartments are bigger, so that's nice. It looks like their food is really good. The atmosphere and the way they're decorated is very fundamentally different when you think about a quintessential nursing home. The person who guided me was Christopher, and he was great. They showed me a menu for the week. It's a very diverse menu. People from outside of the facility can eat there, and they have to pay of course like a restaurant. I think they take a lot of pride in their food. All of the common areas are very nice. The apartments are a little older than the other places I looked at, but they're clean and well-kept."

"My mom moved in. The people are just so personable. Every single person is brought out to the community room. They are very attentive. They walk to the units and ask if the patients would like a cup of coffee. It is definitely like a family. The facility is beautiful. They have a hair salon. The activities are wonderful. Every day, I can see them out there doing word games. They have music. If there's an anxiety-ridden patient, they'll have themselves and other patients around them trying to calm the patient, holding their hand, saying the rosary, and all kinds of things to help calm the patient. It's like they're caring for their mother. The food is excellent."

"I toured the assisted living facility of Paramount Senior Living-Bethel. It is in a nice area, and it's very clean. I would say it is very well-appointed. It makes a very good entrance when you go in. The grounds are nice, the lobby is beautiful, and the dining area is beautiful. The facility itself is nice. When you go upstairs to the assisted living, the rooms are very nice. They have very good rooms, and you don't see a big difference between the independent area and the assisted living area. They kind of blur the line pretty well. I think it's because they may use a lot of the same rooms, and they just increase the care as you need it, so they don't have a separate area. The people were nice, and the activities seemed to be very nice. They have a nice outdoor courtyard. It's a nice place, and the people are very nice and seem like they were attentive. There was no question that if we thought my mother could handle personal care, that's the place we would have sent her to. We have put money down for it, so we were disappointed that she couldn't go there. During the tour, they showed us the dining area, activities area, and I guess you could call it a living room. It's just like a lounge area where you could sit and talk, watch TV, or read a book."

"The Haven at North Hills was very lovely. All of the rooms were private and very spacious. It was very clean, very bright, and cheery. The dining room was beautiful. They were having some activities while we were there. There were residents attending the activities who seemed to be having a good time."

"My mom moved into Whitetail Springs Assisted Living and Memory Care. We chose it because their care level was higher than the other places we went to. She's got dementia, and the thing that made our decision for us was that they checked on her more in the evening. They have motion sensors in the room. So if she moves or starts to wander, it triggers, and they scoop her up before anything happens. This place had a higher level of security at night. Her apartment was the biggest one that they had available. It's very large and it's like a nicer hotel room. It's a very nice place. She likes the food. They feed her quite well and are very attentive. They'll make something else for her if she doesn't like something. So they have some flexibility there. They keep them busy and have a lot of activities that are suited to their needs of the people who are there. The cost was very similar to what we would be paying elsewhere, maybe a bit higher, but given the extra layer of care they put on in the evening, it's worth it."

"If you are looking for a place that feels like home and you are treated like family, this is it! It's very clean and the residents are well cared for, respected and loved. The owner runs a tight ship and it shows. Each residents get personal care and treated very well. I have been fortunate enough to spend a few nights in the facility and was impressed on how well it managed by both the owner and staff. My mother has lived there well over two years and she is very satisfied. If I had to pick a place for myself, this is it!!"

"My father is moving into the Wyngate Senior Living Community. Very accessible. The Wyngate is nice, because it is a secure facility. It's not a memory care facility, but it is secure, and they can handle patients with dementia and fit them with wander guards if they need to. It's a very nice facility with studios and one-bedrooms. And it's next to the Weirton medical center, so it's right next to the hospital. It's a very new facility. It's only a few years old, with very competitive pricing. The staff is great. I was given the tour by a woman named Heather. She was very nice and helpful, able to answer all of my questions, and has been helpful in working with me to get him moved. They sent me home with a frozen meal based on what they might serve normally at dinner. I think it baked ziti and garlic bread, side salads, and dessert, and it was very good. The building was very clean. They keep all of the common areas very clean. The room that I saw was occupied, but it was very clean."

"We chose Golden Oaks Follansbee for my mother-in-law. They're taking very good care of her. The staff, the lady that owns the place, and everything have been great. Because of COVID, they are keeping her in her room a lot. She hasn't been there a month yet. I would recommend it because of the care. They're very, very caring, and they keep you informed of everything that's happening. It's a good place. I have not been inside because of COVID, but the outdoor space is good."

"My aunt moved into Carriage House Assisted Living. It's nice, it's old, but it's clean. She's been getting excellent care. I just came back from there. She's 125 miles away from me, and I just got home today from seeing her. So I only see her once or twice a month. It's clean. There's no smell. The nurses and the staff are very nice. We've had no problems in the three or four months that she's been there, and they call me if they need anything. I think there are only 16 rooms and only eight or nine people in at this time. So, she gets pretty good individual care too. They have places set up for puzzles, and they send out a sheet for activities. They started, and this is every two weeks, the staff picks a restaurant, and they take their order, and they go out, go to the restaurant and bring in food for them. My aunt complains about the food, but I was there when she ate, and she had a ham and cheese sandwich, fruit and vegetables, and a sherbet. She always complains about the food no matter where she's at."

"We moved my in-law to Brightwood Center- West Virgina because it's close, and we figured that they have good rating, and friends and family can go see her. The staff have all been nice and answered all my questions. I call anytime, and gets an update on her. They are very professional. She is very happy where she's at. The community is very nice and clean. They have an activity place where everybody could go, and they have bingo. She may not be participating a lot because of the dementia and the Alzheimer's that she has but at least she is participating at something, and at least her mind is moving. She has not been there that long but we are really pleased with everything that we have seen."

"I toured Assisted Living Richmond. The building is clean. Maybe it's just the first meeting, but I didn't feel the friendliness, it's like a distance. They are more sophisticated, and I particularly did not like the atmosphere. It's not somewhere that I would want to move to. They're not very friendly. The room is a little bigger than the one that I have. The dining area is a nice size, and it's clean."

"H an m was a good place, staff for nice to me. I was treated good there last summer. Except some of meds VA prescribed like tegretal I didn’t like. But residents were nice. It was home for the time I was there."
