You could not ask for better care... I shopped for care for my mother-in-law. She lived with us for a few years, but her care was getting to be more than we could handle, with her mobility and memory issues, plus we have a 2 story home with no bedrooms downstairs. I wanted somewhere safe, with quality care, her own room with her own bathroom. I wanted a home setting, not like a hospital or a nursing home. And when I walked in, I didn't want that smell...you know the smell I'm talking about. That antiseptic desperate attempt to cover up the urine smell. I wanted clean, lots of light, not dark and dreary. I found it...Senior Care Inn was IT. A home in a neighborhood with a maximum of 6 residents. She had her own room with a bathroom...and I got to pick one with out a shower, because I wanted her to have assistance with showers because she was prone to falling in the shower. It came with furniture, but we got to bring her familiar furniture from home, we hung up photos and her favorite clock. She had her own provided TV with cable, or she could venture out to the living room and watch TV with others if she wanted. They home cooked her meals, made sure she had her meds, helped her with anything she needed, helped her monitor her blood sugar, made her feel safe and welcome. It's owned by an RN, so the caregivers are held to higher standards. They have a doctor who comes in-house, so my MIL didn't have to leave when car rides just got too hard. When the time came for hospice, the staff worked with the hospice staff to make her last days the most comfortable possible, and all while keeping the family in the loop and keeping our wishes in mind. And, never, not once, did I ever encounter that smell. Bottom line...it was a hard decision, but it was the best one. I highly recommend Senior Care Inn to anyone looking for care for their aging loved one. I wouldn't look anywhere else.
