Assisted Living Communities in Longview, WA

"I have a family member staying at this facility. Living in another state makes contact intermittent but I call a few times a week. I am not able to get through often as there is only one resident line and it is kept by the residents, some of whom dont have clear mental faculties. This could be forgivable if there weren't these other issues. My family member does not get a shower more than 1 time every 2 weeks. they do not keep contact with the Dr's assigned to the people there. The physical therapy is available but the people working here dont really push the patients to participate. Very limited resources like internet and phone privileges. At over $9000 per month you would expect a decent level of care. Most of the people here seem to be just there for the paycheck and sadly I expect it is not much for those who interact with the patients. We are currently trying to move our family member to better facility closer to other family members. My suggestion to others is DO YOUR RESEARCH. See the place, talk to workers, talk to families of those staying at the place. Good luck. "

"My mother was at Somerset Retirement Home and Assisted Living. It was a great facility. They took really good care of her, and they weren't expensive either. The staff was very caring. When she pushed her button, they were there in a heartbeat to see what she needed. They had nice and clean rooms, and the atmosphere seemed to be good. They had people come in to sing and play music. They played bingo and they played some kind of baseball game. My mom loved their salad bar. That's about all she ate. But the food wasn't bad. I tasted some sandwiches that she couldn't eat, and it was good. Their dining area was nice and the staff was running all over the place, taking care of all the other people. They had a beauty salon. They did have an area where you could walk around the whole building and they had a Koi pond with a waterfall and rocks. It was nice looking."

"I liked that Village Inn is medium-sized, not too small nor too large. The staff seemed to be doing their job and very nice. It was very clean. The rooms were actually nice and seemed very nice. I liked it a lot. "

"I had an in-person tour of Clark's Country Haven Adult Family Home. I like the country setting and the layout of the house. The staff was very courteous and informative. They offer food and assistance. They have a large patio. It's just a small house. I saw one resident, and he was just lying in bed and was very quiet. They have a table and a living room with a large TV that everyone can sit on. They have shared rooms, and I thought they were fairly small. It was roomy enough for a person in a wheelchair to get around. The living room was large. The dining room was kind of a combined open area. The bathrooms were large. They have lots of parking space. It looked very well landscaped."

"My mother-in-law has moved into Woodland Care Center. My husband knows somebody that works there, so he talked to them and we were able to get her into there. We met them, we dropped her off, we talked to her, and left. So far it's been fine. We need to call them today because I need to get some more information about who takes care of her catheters, specifically if we need to do that or if the insurance does. It looked fine on the outside. It's obviously like a lot of older buildings. It looked perfectly fine. The people seemed to be very attentive when they came out to talk to us and were welcoming. It takes us close to 45 minutes to an hour to get there. It's pretty much right around the main old town square."

"Spring Meadow Assisted Living is really convenient. It is around five miles from where I am, and that is one of the big factors as to why I chose it for my husband. It is also small. There are only like three residents in it. It is excellent. They have their own studio room with their own bath. They have a nice dining area. It is a really nice facility. I will definitely recommend it to others. I never find anything negative with them. They have a social director, and they do activities. They have exercise every morning. They do bingo. They do music and have people come in a couple of times a month to either play guitar, piano, organ, or some type of light music. They also have ice cream socials, cooking, baking, and those types of things. For a small community, they do very well. "

"I visited Avamere at St. Helens for my mom. Part of this community is a memory care unit, so if your parents already living here are starting to have dementia problems or they are losing their memory, they will just move them in a room to that facility. Also the people here are nice and they have nice rooms. However, the rooms that were available for my mom were small and I felt that she would not be happy with that situation. It just did not feel as a good fit for my mom. "
