"After 58 years of marriage, me and my children had to make the difficult decision to place my husband in Evermore Senior Living. This facility was chosen after looking at several facilities. There has been no doubt we made the right choice. His room is roomy, bright, and looks out on a beautiful wooded lot. We were able to bring in any personal items, such as pictures,etc. They go the extra mile to personalize his care by asking what his favorite foods are, and providing them; along with favorite snacks. My husband likes to go for walks and a caretaker takes him out almost every day. He is getting so much personal attention, we feel it is almost too good to be true. I highly recommend Evermore Senior Living. Its like living in an all-inclusive resort."

"Tribute at The Glen by Cogir was beautiful and nicely laid out. They had beautiful apartments with huge closets. It was nice in that respect. Their grounds were pretty. There were lots of outdoor spaces, different courtyards, and walking paths. The woman who did the tour was super great and super friendly. She listened to all our concerns and answered all our questions. She was the most well-versed in explaining levels of care and how that works, that they're kind of fluid and you can go back and forth between all of them. She was good. The menu looked amazing."

"My husband moved into Harmony at Chantilly. The food is excellent. There's a choice of food. They are very accommodating, like asking me what I would like to eat and asking my husband what he would like to eat. It's home-cooked. The facility is immaculately clean. My husband fell last night, and they called me at 11:30 at night to let me know he was moderately injured. They're extremely cooperative and kind. My husband has been through physical therapy at various places, including home therapy and physical therapy, and this is the best I've seen. The occupational therapist came in and was the most thorough of everyone who's come in to deal with them. They have a huge calendar of events that my husband can participate in if he wishes. Of all the places that I have seen, I would say it's a bargain."

"Commonwealth Senior Living at Front Royal was more affordable to me. It was lovely. In the apartments, they have a memory place too. The only thing that bothered me was the elevator. I would recommend them though. It was wonderful. They have snack trays where residents can get things during the day if they need a snack. I tried something from there, and it was very good."

"My experience with the staff was good. They were setting up for a family night when I was there. I saw a menu in the dining area, but I didn't taste the food. The rooms were comparable to the other places that I've seen."

"My mom has only been in the Harmony at Falls Run for a little bit now, and it's been fine. They were very, very helpful and accommodating with the tour and the actual move in. They made it pretty easy for us. As you walk into the facility, you see a bright, cheery atrium and there's always a little concierge desk right there. The dining room is downstairs located between two sets of elevators, and it's a very attractive brick building on the outside. Some of the apartments have nice balconies and nice, wide hallways. "

"Advent Care is like a house in a neighborhood. It's a nice idea, but it wasn't quite what my aunt needed in terms of the bathroom being accessible. I think it would have been difficult for her to get around the house in a wheelchair. The lady was very helpful. Even when she knew that we weren't going to be able to do private pay, she shared resources with us on how to get financial help to try to get her into a comfortable situation. She even followed up with me later and sent me websites and stuff. It has two rooms, one has two beds, and the other only has one bed. She said her family lives there at the house, and there was a dog, which I know my aunt wouldn't like. She said that when her husband and her child are home, they help. She prepares meals, which is nice. My mom went with me, and she is in her 60s. She does have knee problems, and she had a hard time getting around. There wasn't a railing on the front step. There wasn't a ramp. She had to use the bathroom, and she had a hard time getting up off the toilet because there weren't the handicap bars where they needed to be. I wasn't comfortable with it. It is not well-equipped for someone who can't walk on their own. If they can get up and walk around, it is a nice little house, and meals are made from scratch. They had chairs and stuff outside, but it was a question of how to get them out there. There's no ramp. The lady said that they encourage them to be out and about, and they have TVs in the family room. She was very helpful, even knowing that we weren't going to be able to give them our business. She still continued to offer support, health websites, things like that to help us find a place and offered to even take my aunt temporarily for a lower price if we couldn't find a place for her to live, like if we couldn't get the Medicaid thing settled. She was a very, very nice lady. It was more physical equipment-wise that was questionable. The food looked good, like homemade fresh vegetables, chicken, that kind of thing."

"I toured Home Eldercare. The staff was pretty nice and tried to let us know what to expect there and what service they would provide. However, the only thing is that the living conditions are a little bit different than what we expected. Two people will share one unit, and the bathroom is quite tight. I'm a little concerned about sending my mom there, and that's the only thing, but the staff seemed willing to help."

"Potomac Place is really nice. The staff members were very informative. They had an elevator, which was very important to me. They were just very friendly, and it seemed like a nice place to be. "

"Our mother is a current resident. We looked at a number of AL communities. This place was very new and had really large beautiful apartments. The common areas are gorgeous. Its really like a luxury hotel experience. The staff and management have worked hard to provide all we have requested. The staff cares genuinely for the residents. Sometimes you have to customize care and they always make things work. The residents are active and frankly it just is hard to see this the way anyone thinks an AL community is. Its refreshing to visit. Highly recommend. "

"At Marian Manor, the staff is absolutely great. The people that are living there seem really happy and well taken care of. Everyone is pleasant and you are always greeted with a smile whenever you walk in. They adapt to the patients' needs, and are very knowledgeable about what exactly goes on in there. You can actually say that it could actually be considered a home, rather than a nursing facility due to the type of feeling when you enter. Everything is close by, and would be my number one spot to recommend. "
