Our House of Ogden

We went to Our House of Ogden. This place is very similar to the other place that we visited. The staff greeted us. We didn't have an appointment. They took us right in, walked us through the facility, and showed it to us. It has a lovely area with a fireplace, game rooms, and different activities and things like that. It's a little bit smaller so it seemed a little more cozy, and my mom likes that. But it's also like $1,000 more expensive per month. And so that was part of an issue. But they were so friendly and they took us to see the rooms that were available and then invited us to sit down and have lunch, and so we did. My mom enjoyed the food. She likes Coke but they have Pepsi there. And so the cute gal who's the manager there, had a Coke tucked away in her personal fridge and brought it out for my mom. So it was very, very sweet. They have different rooms. The one they have available that she would be able to take would be a one-bedroom. We would choose the studio because it's big enough and less expensive, but there's not one available.

We chose Our House of Ogden for mom partly based on location. It's near my house and we liked the facility. We liked that it was new and clean, and Cami and Jordan were very, very helpful. We just feel like it's going to be a good fit for my mother. The apartment was very nice and very clean. They have two different sizes of apartments, a regular and a large, and we chose a regular. It has two windows, and it's open and airy. Every apartment has its own HVAC thermostat. You can make it as cool or as warm as you want. It looks very accommodating that way. It has a roomy closet and a very nice bathroom and shower.

As far as I'm concerned, Our House of Ogden is the best assisted living in Ogden. The minute I walked in, I was in love. It's bright and cheerful, and it feels like home. I've been here going on five years now. The only reason that I'm wanting to move is to be close to my children. My daughter lives in Flagstaff, and my son is living in San Antonio, Texas. I would be close to them, and that's what I want. I love the food. They accept pets; I have a cat. We go to Wal-Mart now, and we're going to start going out to restaurants to eat. They take us out to drive just to go out and see the countryside. It is beautiful here in Utah. The mountains are so gorgeous, and everything is awesome. It is awesome. We have a nurse on staff that is here five days a week, and a doctor comes in once a month to check on the residents.

I have lived here since it opened. I am very satisfied. My room is good size and I have my dog with me. I just love it here. I brought a friend of mine, her mother, and she loved being here while she was with us. The food is great the chefs aim to please. My husband didn't like poultry or pork, and the fixed him something else. I love the staff. If you have a problem, they try to fix it. The activities are fun and enjoyable. We take trips in the bus, and go out to a restaurant once a month. We have some musicians come in during the month. I am so satisfied to be here. Come see us and take a tour. You won't be sorry. This is the best Assisted Living place here in Ogden.

i couldn't be more pleased that my family found this place for my mother! It's always so clean and nice here! The CNA's, the front desk, everyone....is so genuinely pleasant and helpful! I love you all for the care you are providing for my momma, Nita S. Thank you so much! The kitchen is immaculate....the cooks and helpers serve you like a five star restaurant...bringing and removing plates, etc. They have invited me to dine with my mother since I come from out of state. It's almost like being on the Titanic. There are even some nice looking gentlemen to play the part of Jack for any available Rose's! :) The grand room is so beautiful...with a baby grand piano for my family & residents to use. Music, a fireplace, comfortable sofas, high ceilings....pinch me?!! It's surreal. What a wonderful "home"! From the front door to the back door...every one of you...THANK YOU sooo much for all your love, smile, care, & patience with me, my family, and my dear mother!!!!

Our House of Ogden was a brand-new building. The rooms had high ceilings which made them feel bigger, so that was nice. It wasn't huge. They only had around 40 people there, so it was quite homey. The people were very nice. They have activities and they have a bus that takes people to the store or to medical appointments on certain days. They can schedule to have transportation for that. They had a salad bar on a regular basis and drinks. It was a small facility, but it was nice.
