The facility is extraordinarily small compared to other places. JMJ is located in a house, blending into a nice residential neighborhood. I believe the max capacity is close to 15 residents. There are two full-time caretakers. The positives about having such a small community is that the staff is very kind, they are willing to work closely with family members and doctors, and the residents receive a lot of individual attention. Residents can choose to have their own room or to share rooms with other residents for a lower cost. The daytime nurse is wonderful and makes several home-cooked, healthy meals a day for the residents. All of the staff members are kind and nurturing, and they handle all necessary domestic tasks including laundry and cleaning. The residents always have a caretaker or nurse in the house, and a doctor makes regular visits to the house to deliver medication and speak to the patients. A nurse administers all of the pills and keeps very good records about the time and amount of medications taken. The only downside to this facility is there are no planned group outings or activities, and I believe some of the residents suffer from boredom.
