I visited Hinton and I was very impressed with the place. I think that’s probably where I will place my mother when she needs to go to a nursing home. I spoke with the owner and everybody seemed really nice. The place was really clean. They also have assisted living apartment units, a nursing home, and a group home. I talked to the lady who gave me information on what I need to do to help my mother become eligible for Medicaid.

If you care about your loved ones, please avoid this facility. The lack of care, compassion and concern for their residents is extremely obvious that they don’t care. My father was mistreated in his final days at this facility. We were told it was easier for him to urinate on himself than them trying to transfer him to the restroom. Also one of their nurses gave my sister liquid morphine to administer to my father herself as the nurse left the room. I brought all of this to the director of nursings attention and she had zero response. After dad passed their lack of compassion for his things that they packed was completely disgusting, we had to throw several things away due to liquid poured all over his things. They then tried to tell us that those certificates would mean nothing in a few years. Who are they to even say that to us??? It is really sad that we trusted this facility to take care of our loved one and this was how he was treated in the end.

My dad has been in Hinton for almost 3 years now. I cannot find words to express how caring and loving the staff is. It is a Christian based, private family owned home. I cannot call it a "facility" because it isn't run like one. It's more like your family member has moved in with other members of your own family.I would recommend Hinton Home to anyone who wants their loved one to still be respected and loved, no matter what their situation.
