West Lake Assisted Living has been a true blessing for our family. From the moment my mom moved in, she was treated with warmth, respect, and genuine care. The staff consistently go above and beyond to ensure she is comfortable, safe, and happy. It's clear that they truly care about the residents — it’s not just a job for them, it’s a calling. Kandra, the owner, is an exceptional person. She’s not only attentive to my mom’s needs, but she also goes out of her way to support me every month when it's time to purchase additional items for my mom. Her kindness, flexibility, and commitment mean so much to us. I can honestly say that West Lake has given us peace of mind and my mom a place she can call home. We are so grateful for the amazing care and community here.

My mom moved to West Lake three years ago. We appreciate the caring and dedicated staff. The owner, Kandra, will go out of her way to help. I can tell she really cares about the residents and their families. I was especially relieved that she understands how my mom thinks better than other caregivers have in the past. The rooms are clean and pretty. And the home is kept up and Kandra is always trying to improve things. I gave four stars because communication amongst the staff and management is sometimes lacking. But they do try. I also wish that they had more variety of things for the residents to do, or at least that what they play on the TV was more positive and wholesome. But I am thankful that they bring her out into the living room to be with the other residents as much as possible so she doesn't spend much time alone in her room. I'm sure that has been good for her mentally and emotionally even if she doesn't always like what is on the television.

my brother picked this facility for mom and do believe they did not do their homework. Mom is in a shared room paying $2000/month. The lawn hadn't been cut since the last gardener passed away (a worker told me). All the times i have visited i have NEVER smelled home cooked meals. Having cereal for breakfast and a hot dog and chips for dinner is not nutritional. Out of the 7 clients in the home, only 2 are mobile and get around alone. There is a small patio area that i've only seen the workers use for their smoking section unless i take mom out there for fresh air. There is a common living room where they watch t.v. (not clients) they are not engaged in the t.v., it's the workers watching Tubi. I have not seen a board game, deck of cards, staff interacting with clients in 2 months. After 2 months, it's time to go. I don't know how they passed a state inspection because this is not acceptable care for patients with Dementia or any disease. I wish them well

I went to West Lake Assisted Living. They told us to go to 1019 Westlake just a few houses down. They didn't even have a nurse on staff, they have home health coming in if somebody needs it. It was a three-bedroom house. I didn't like any of it. For example, when we drove up and I got out with my mom and was taking her up to the front door, there was a couple of ladies sitting on the small porch. And they got up and went into the house. Well, they left the chair right in the way of the walkway, along with there was a little bitty ramp that I just knew my mom was going to fall over. So, that was all a hazard right there, having things right in the way of going into the house. And then there was a resident in a wheelchair that was right in the doorway. So we had to go around him to get through the house. And the house needs a lot of work, a lot of TLC. It was not a standard, that's for sure. Kendra was the owner of the house, and we saw two of the workers, the other one was just sitting there, and the residents were just watching TV. The owner gave us a tour of the house. I kind of had to ask to go see other parts of the house because she didn't want to show it to me, and the backyard, we never even got to that. And so I don't even know what the backyard looks like.

My uncle has moved into West Lake Assisted Living. We chose this because it's a shared home. Each person typically has their own room, they have several common areas, and it's very well-kept. They have cards, puzzles, TV, and I know that they take them for walks as well. They don't typically have a menu, but they do have a balanced meal three times a day. The staff were all very nice and caring.

West Lake Assisted Living was the first one I toured. It was kind of deceptive in the description. There was a lady in there who needed help. I told the staff member that she needed to help this lady because she was in tears. I thought that she needed to be helped and we could've waited for the tour, but the staff member told her to wait because she was on a tour. That's not good. They were more concerned about the tour than anything. It's assisted living with memory care and one of the dementia patients walked out of the door while we were there, so I wouldn't recommend that. They had wheelchairs in there, but it wasn't wheelchair friendly enough for me. It's an older home, but they had it pretty clean. The private rooms were not really private, so the value is deceiving. Instead of saying they're a nursing home for assisted living, this gives a feeling of a group home. I don't know how they got the rating. The staff tried to explain it to me, but at this point I wasn't really listening. It's not something I was interested in.

It is clean and well organized. The staff is very nice and compassionate. The residents are very clean and well cared for, which is very important to me. We have not encountered any problems; in fact, it just keeps getting better. They have helped me find better doctors and better pharmacists, and I am very pleased at this point.

Mother was here for around six weeks. The place was nice and very well kept. They refused to give a refund even though she died on the 2nd of the month.
