"We looked at numerous facilities before deciding upon Cornerstone for my mother's care. Many of these facilities were beautiful, but somehow cold. Cornerstone on the other hand is very homey and warm. We were able to decorate my mother's room to make it truly hers. They continue to make upgrades to the facility, but aside from the facility the staff is wonderful. They have a dedicated staff that truly cared for my mother. It is a hard decision to place a parent with dementia, but I know that I made the right one when I chose Cornerstone. "

"Keystone Villa at Fleetwood was very nice. I liked how the room was set up, but I also liked the various activities that they had. There are 133 people there, and the tour guide, Jackie, who's the public relations person, knew everyone we encountered, which says a lot for building that community. I met one of the activity directors, and the person at the front desk was very helpful. The staff was outstanding. It was very orderly, and I liked how they were having a jazz singer for the happy hour, which they do every Thursday. They have the ability to move their furniture to accommodate having things in different places."

"My visit to Vintage Knolls was really good. The staff who attended to me during the tour was excellent. The rooms seem very nice and accommodating, and my mom is going to be transferred there today. It was nice and clean. The people answered my questions and were very accommodating for everything. It seems like a good fit for my mother. The food, the dining, and everything seemed to be right in line with my mom's expectations. They have plastic partitions on the tables for the diners, and the food menu looked to be what my mom would like, so it seems to be pretty good for her. They do everything that they can do."

"We went to see Columbia Cottage. It was very nice. The building was well maintained. The staff members that we interacted with were very nice. They seemed to have taken interest in the residents there. We went into the rooms. The admission people were very nice in explaining everything there. Overall, it was a really good experience. The food smelled good. We saw residents there, and they all seemed very satisfied. It was a good experience."

"I visited a family member at Phoebe Berks Village's independent living. They do the cleaning for you there. It's very expensive but the place is good if you can afford it. I like their food, recreational facilities, and the fact that there are a lot of activities going on. The food I tried was very good and they offer a lot of variety. The wait staff also seem very friendly. I didn't interact with a lot of the staff, just the servers at the tables, but the person I was visiting said that the staff met her needs when she called them. They moved her in and even set up everything for her and she was very impressed by that. They have library spaces at the end of each hall plus a main library. The facility is very large and very well laid out. The apartments are also large with some of them even having porches. They have kitchen areas too. For activities, they have exercises, art classes, and a lot of church activities."

"Juniper Village at Lebanon was nice. It's just too much money. The staff during the visit was great. The dining area was fine. The facility was beautiful and clean. The rooms were nice."

"Everyone at The Villa St. Elizabeth seemed to be very happy. I met one of the aides who helped me find the tour director. The tour director showed me all around, and she was very good, answered all my questions, gave me information about cost and what I needed to do, the next steps, those kinds of things. They have a library. They also have quite a bit of acreage outdoor spaces, and they have some buildings where people have their apartments. Then they own another mansion that is their dementia care unit. It is a very old mansion, and they've kept a lot of the antiques. Everything was clean."

"We toured The Manor at Market Square. The people were very nice and helpful, and they answered all our questions. It seemed like a caring place. The staff was very good, and she contacted me later, and we talked. It was very clean. The people were sitting in the lobby watching TV, and it seemed like a very nice place."

"After visiting various assisted living facilities we eventually decided on this one as our long term care facility for my grandfather. I was personally impressed with the staff who were very caring and compassionate. They helped in any way possible and went out of the way to answer questions and give a lovely tour of the place. The rooms weren't anything spectacular but it had all the basics that could be needed. However I feel that they could have been made a bit more accessible as parts were quite a tight fit.As for the amenities in the facility... well this was quite possibly a selling point. On site the Schuylkill Centers had a barber shop, a religious service center, a lounge and activity room, a lovely cafeteria plus a small shop for the patients to use. It was very welcoming not only to those that stay there and also for the family. In addition to the beautiful inside, the outside landscape was very inviting with flowers, trees and a nice park area if the people just need to get a breath a fresh air.Overall I was very impressed with this assisted living facility and ultimately for the above reasons is why we choose this as the care facility for our grandfather. "

"My mother is at ManorCare Health because she has bacterial pneumonia. Her room is fine and more than adequate. It’s very good, but too far for me to travel. What I like about it is that they treat everybody individually. With the nurses, anything you ask them to do, they will do it for you. My mom likes the food. They have different activities, like bingo. She also loves the chair dance where they can sway on their chairs. "

"My mother is now in Schuylkill Center. It is very nice. They are taking very good care of her. She actually gained 8 pounds since she’s been there. She likes the food and the place. It’s clean, and they’re very helpful. She loves it. The rooms and dining area are well-maintained. Their laundry is done, and their beddings are changed every day. "

"Providence Place of Pottsville was very nice. It was just a little bit more than the price range that we wanted to stay within, but it was a very nice facility and it had nice amenities. They had nice patio areas that you could go outside and sit, some very nice social areas, and dining areas. The way their rooms were designed and the upkeep of it was very nice. It's a slightly newer facility. It's a little more on the high-end side, decor-wise, but they are higher in price. You're paying for the nicer decor. It's very nicely decorated, nicely kept, very clean, and looked very welcoming. It was in mid-morning, so I guess a lot of the residents were probably finishing up their breakfast. I didn't witness any activity, but I saw an activities calendar and they have plenty of activities for the residents to take part in if they choose to."
