"My daughter-in-law will move into Sellwood Senior Living. I was impressed at how bright and cheerful the facility was. The staff was very friendly. Any time a staff member passed my daughter-in-law they would greet her and introduce themselves. They invited us back for lunch. The meal was really good. The studio apartment that she will likely be in is nice and roomy, and it just hit me as a very nice facility. I was able to taste their food. The gal told me that they don't use salt, they use just spices. And it wasn't spicy to the taste, but it was very flavorful. The facility was very clean. It looks like it had been upkept. The residents were coming and going because it's in the downtown area type thing, and they seemed very lively. I encountered one other person and I asked her how she liked living there, and she said she really enjoyed it, that they were welcoming. I just got a good feeling."

"Oswego Place is clean with nice sized rooms for my single dad. The staff is compassionate and caring, a wonderful team. They encouraged him to join group activities to help him integrate and meet people. They managed his confusion well, successfully redirecting him when needed. It was a great place for him as he transitioned to higher care needs."

"My wife was a resident of Arcadia Senior Living. The people were fine and everything, but like a lot of places, they ran short of help. She had a good-sized living room and bedroom. The upkeep was okay, but having less people, it probably wasn't so. There weren't enough people working, and new people were coming in all the time, and I think they didn't know what was going on. The dining area was fine. They did many things for the residents, such as exercise and games, but I think they've gone through three changes since then. I think the people who put on those activities get disappointed because not too many residents show up. She was really a good working gal. When she did all the chores to get things ready for the people, but nobody showed up, it disappointed her. That's too bad, but it's not the worker's fault."

"Brookdale River Valley Tualatin was a nice place. My interaction with the staff was good. The menu and the dining area were very nice. The size of the rooms was good. The parking and the common areas were very nice. I just had a good feel for that place."

"When we first started looking for a place for my mom, we were overwhelmed and unsure of what to expect. From the moment we walked into Markham House, something felt different. The staff greeted us with warmth, took time to answer every question, and made my mom feel seen and valued. "My mother-in-law will move into Brookdale Oswego Springs Portland. Everyone from the front staff to the office staff to even the kitchen staff was very, very welcoming. They've been extending that hand to my mother-in-law when we went to have her see what it was like. It was wonderful. It's a small enough community that you don't feel overwhelmed with a lot of people. There are 60 rooms there, and five to six activities on the schedule every single day if you want. Everything about the place was just wonderful. Many different areas of the place have a meeting room where there are arts and crafts or singing movie night. It's a one-bedroom apartment with plenty of room. There's a courtyard all the way around the unit. In the back, there is a seating area outside, which is in a lovely forest. Inside, there is a library where they also show movies. There's a common room where they have exercises and games and all kinds of things in that room, different tastes, etc. There are several of those rooms throughout the place. Everywhere you look, you see green trees and flowers. We had a meal, and it was delicious. There were choices on the menus, so you didn't have one thing for each part of the meal. You had choices within the menu to make, depending on your taste."

"The Courtyard at Mt.Tabor was very nice. I liked it because there was a lot of space. There were two memory care facilities there. I loved them both because there was a lot of room. Activity directors were there and working. It seemed like everybody was enjoying themselves, and they were happy, which was important to me. They looked like they were content and smiling, so they were comfortable. What I liked about this one are the colors, which were green. It looked very nice and was well-kept. I liked the way it was laid out so that the memory care patients couldn't get lost because they just went around a circle. I like the rooms. I like everything about it. Their staff was very attentive. They were all very friendly and had smiles on their faces. They seemed to be doing their job and liking it."

"Bonaventure of Tigard was wonderful. I liked that all the rooms were big and all of them were different from each other. And also, they were beautiful. I like everything about it except that it's way too expensive. The staff members were wonderful. Everything was fabulous."

"I moved to CherryWood Village and started in their independent living community. I chose it for myself because it's close to my son. It also has everything that I could need. It has a theater, a chapel, a library, physical therapy, a pool, and even a little golf course. The food is excellent, and there's a wide variety of it available. The service and staff are excellent, too. Everybody is friendly, extremely kind, and helpful. I'm in physical therapy, and we have a pool, so I'm also doing water aerobics. Walking all around the area is delightful here, too. It's a safe environment, and it's very easy to walk around in."

"Brookdale Wilsonville was nice. When you walk in, it's very open and friendly. The staff there was really good. I liked the rooms better, just the layout and the design of them. Everyone was super friendly when you first walked in. The people that were living there were very friendly. They had a garden area, which was a little farther away and that's the only thing. For most residents, it's a little jaunt across the parking lot to get to it, but other than that, it was good. They had a nice dining room, a good TV/movie space, a lot of people out doing games and playing cards and stuff in a lot of the areas, so it was nice. They had a nice fireplace, a piano, a library, and a reading room."

"Very clean and smaller so attention to detail is more possible by the staff. It feels like home. The maintenance man is very helpful also."

"I've visited Sapphire at Firwood Gardens. The people were really friendly, the place was nice and clean, and the building itself was not rundown. The only thing I didn't like was that where my dad would have been there, he'd have to take an elevator and would have to go all the way outside to smoke. So that wasn't a fit for him. The staff seemed helpful, were nice about showing me around, and answered my questions. It seems like they offer a lot of things that the seniors would need. And they have a side that's memory care, so if they started at assisted living, they can transfer out to memory care, so I like that."
