The gal who we met with at Waterford Grand was wonderful. She really took time to listen to what we were dealing with and gave us some suggestions, took us on a tour, and introduced us to some people. She was just very, very attentive. It wasn't like she had a speech ready. It was kind of an individual situation. She said she wanted to take a little extra time with us just to answer some questions or give some recommendations. She gave us information to look at, so we really liked her. The facility was very, very nice. It's next to the river. They had assisted living and memory care, but we went down to the memory care section. The staff seemed like they cared about the people in the facility, knew people by name, and every individual with them when they would walk by would make little comments, just like "How are you doing?" sort of thing. They have a gym area, a pool, and a salon. They have some nice amenities like that.

I visited this facility

We went to Waterford Grand. That place was nice, it was on the higher end of the cost. They had a universal gym. They were the only place they had that. They also had a swimming pool. They were the only place that had a swimming pool. And so they also seemed to have a pretty big focus on their exercise program. So they had an on-site fitness trainer. So that seemed to be a pretty big emphasis for them there. The one drawback for them was the facility itself seemed a little cramped, crowded to me. They're a bigger community, and just like when you are walking around in the common areas, it seemed like it was a little bit more constrained. The rooms were spacious, but it just seemed like the common space was not as spacious. They had a pretty extensive activities program. They had all the stuff that you would typically see, movie nights, Oregon Ducks, and Oregon State beaver, and it was nice for the residents to get together and watch those games. They take a lot of care in the way that the outdoor landscaping and things like that look. They had fountains outside. They were the only place that was like that, with very nice shrubbery and greenery. I think it backs right up to the river. There's a fence to prevent residents from wandering down there. But I thought the grounds on the outside were the most scenic by far of the places that I toured.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother died of Covid while in the care of the Waterford Grand. She had lived there for about 7 years, was fully vaccinated but exposed to Covid by an unvaccinated employee, I believe. Since she never left their campus, we can’t think of any other way she was exposed to Covid. Approximately 18 other residents tested positive and one other woman died of Covid at the same time as mom. It was not only a horrible death but we were not allowed to see her, so she died alone, surrounded by strangers. During her years of living in the memory care unit there, we’ve had several issues with the care she was receiving but didn’t move her out because that would be more traumatic than trying to fix the problems that arose.

If you like scary movies then go ahead and put your parent(s) at Waterford Grand. How often do we see the girl at the top of the stairs peering into the dark basement and we yell: “Don’t go down there”. Well, this is me telling you “Don’t move a loved one to WG”. My mother was there 1 month before we gave notice. This was not something done lightly, it was obviously disorienting for her to be moved again plus there were the added expenditures of new move in fees, etc. at a new facility but all of our meetings at Waterford Grand to correct situations provided nothing but frustration. My sister and I had at least 5 meetings together with staff as well as numerous individual conferences. We were told that our concerns would be taken care of only to return the next day to find nothing was done. There is no communication, there is little adherence to basic standards like cleanliness, activities and the overall care of assisted living residents and apparently there is no need to rectify these things because there will always be a girl willing to go into that dark ominous basement. Take Care.

The person that I'm a legal guardian for moved into Waterford Grand. The place is beautiful and the layout is very pleasing and easy for folks to get around. I'm very pleased with their communication and their service. The staff is very good and excellent. They have music, lectures, and activities pretty much on a daily basis in the facility. At least once a week the person I'm taking care of goes out into the community. She has done really pleasing, out-of-the-community activities. The dining area looks good.

Waterford Grand was beautiful and looked more like a resort than an assisted living place. It was very clean and new. The staff was very friendly and seemed to genuinely care about everybody who was there. The dining area looked more like a restaurant and had a view of the river, so it was very pretty. There are beautiful gardens that they can walk around, there's a path along the river, a swimming pool, a fitness class tailored to seniors, and an on-site salon and barber shop.

Our family was very happy with the care the Waterford Grand gave our loved one. They loved her as family and went above and beyond to make her feel special. Thank you to the team for caring her and working with hospice to ensure she could stay in her home when it mattered most.

Waterford Grand was beautiful and nice. The girl that interviewed me and my sister couldn't have been better. The food looked great. I found nothing negative to say about it. The people were so nice and the rooms were lovely. The whole atmosphere was really pleasant. The lady was really in tune with my sister's needs. The facility was clean and the staff was really attentive. The residents were really attentive too. They showed us a room with a 1-bedroom and it was occupied by a nice lady. She was very pleasant to share the room to let us look at it. I liked the wider hallways and I liked the river out front. You can have one colored wall that they will paint for you.

Waterford Grand seemed a little bit more expensive. It had more amenities, but my mother-in-law wouldn't use a lot of them. We went to quite a few rooms tht were very modern, very clean, very practical, and very lit. The dining room and outside area with the fountain were very beautiful. There was a nice activity room upstairs and a little coffee bar where people were meeting.

So far, Waterford Grand has been excellent. It is a new place with state-of-the-art amenities like swimming pool, fitness center, lovely restaurants, and theater. The apartment is a little bit on the smaller side, but they are very well maintained. They have a lot of activities, and I think my friend is adjusting well. The staff is very friendly, and there does not seem to be any problem.

Waterford Grand has independent living, assisted living, and memory care areas. It's perfect for me. The place is on the way to and from work, so it's very easy to drop by. The rooms are very nice. Each one has a little glass window outside the door where the residents can put their memorabilia. It's expensive, but it's comparable to other places. The dining area is really nice, and you have options. The food is very good. They're very accommodating. They want their residents to feel welcome and like they're at home as well as among family.

My husband is in Waterford Grand. It is like walking into a beautiful hotel. It is very bright, clean, and very cheery. The people are extremely friendly. They have wonderful food. In the memory care unit, there are two units: north and south. The north is where my husband is and that’s where people that need more care than those on the other end. They do a lot of activities. Whether the person joins or not, it is up to them. They have a swimming pool, a weight room, and a massage. It is like going to a wonderful resort. They have a restaurant-type area upstairs as the dining room, and you can go there and eat anytime you want. The cook is very conscious of what he is doing. He presents the food beautifully and makes it very tasty. I have not had anything there that is not delicious. What I like about them is that the residents share a bathroom, but do not have to share the same room.

We went by Waterford Grand and took a tour. It was awesome and beautiful but much more expensive because it's also newer. It had beautiful grounds. I asked about the people, and the woman acknowledged that they were older. She showed me a couple of apartments that were very nice. A nice, young woman took me around; she was lovely. Just from what I saw, I would give it five stars.

They were not prepared for us to walk in, so we just toured Waterford Grand on our own. It was the highest priced and the newest. I have been through independent living with my parents in two different units, so I had a pretty good idea of what I was going to be looking at; I have nothing but good things to say at this point from that little walk-through that we did. It was classy.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Both of my parents are in Waterford Grand for about one month and a half now. As soon as my parents and I walked through the assisted living facility, we fell in love with it. The accommodations are new and bright. It has a very happy environment, and we find that the people who work there, every single one of them, meet us with smiles and welcomes us. That makes the difference. We know that they are happy working there. So, we right away feel comfortable. We meet with the nursing staff, and they make an evaluation with my parents. This is much appreciated, so we can really make sure that they will be in the position that they can live there very comfortable for the rest of their lives. They do not want to be in an environment where they have to move to a couple of facilities. What I like is that they can age in place safely. With the nurse attachment, we think about what care my parents will need, primarily my father who is diagnosed with dementia. They even have, if needed in the future, a portion for the memory care. My parents are able to have a two-bedroom apartment. It has a full-size kitchen, a bathroom, and a front room. They have their own deck, and they have a beautiful river view. There are full-time activities, pretty much from morning until night, and they have diversity in the programs, everything from speakers, different topics to cooking classes. They have a little kitchen where they have chefs come in and do presentations in cooking. They have cards. Every time I go there, which is several times a week, they have musicians playing music. The other thing that we are looking for my father with the dementia is that it keeps his memory and mind active. So, between the walks along the river, presentations, and a theater room to watch shows, it is really activities that will make him happy. They have formal eating, so they have white linen, white table cloths, and there is a fold menu every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They choose from several different things. Every two weeks, the menu changes. They have a chef who comes down and meets with all of the residents to make sure everything is OK. They have a little bistro set up during the day where there are cookies, apples, coffee, and soda that the residents can get themselves. I am 59, myself. I say this every time that I have a very active life and that I will live there in a minute. It is just a wonderful environment. My sister and I are so happy for our parents that there is a facility like this in Eugene. Eugene is so lucky to have it. Between the staff and the atmosphere, it is everything we hope for.

Waterford Grand was a new facility, and they had every imaginable amenity that anyone could desire. It had an indoor pool and exercise facilities. The interior decoration was superb. They did a fabulous job. It was very high-end. It was expensive. Everyone seemed very warm and friendly. It was also a large facility. The dining room was elegant. As I recall, you could eat any time you want during the day.

I found Waterford Grand for my mother. It is spacious. The staff seemed quite good and friendly, and they pay attention to the residents. This is memory care, so it is secure. They do have activities during the week. I have witnessed residents eating, and the dining setup is well done.

Waterford Grand has the amenities, and its beauty is top of the line. I also like their dining because it had no specific hours like going to a restaurant. I just feel like it was as much like a home with the friendly staff. The facility was the most spectacular of all. It was spacious, clean, and beautiful. It was right by the river, and not only do you have a river view, but they also have a water fountain going on all the time, so you get to hear the sound of water whatever room you are in. Every kind of amenity you can dream of is at Waterford. They have professional coaches in their gym which has up to date equipment. They have an indoor pool open all the time, so whenever you wanted to go you can. The staffs were good too, and they showed us around very nicely. They were very good, and it is a beautiful, spacious, and state of the art place. I wish I could live there, and that is all there is to it.

My doctor said he heard of Waterford Grand and recommended that we look at it. It is beautiful and very nice. The only problem that we had with it is that it is too expensive. Everything is fine, and it is a nice place. The staffs were very good and helpful. They have everything like exercise classes and an indoor swimming pool. It is a new facility, so everything is new and very pretty.

I have my mom in an assisted living here in Eugene. The name is Waterford Grand. It is a brand new one just opened recently. It is brand new, and it is really nice. It has a view of the river, and it is just a really nice facility. They have a swimming pool and a fitness center. They have arts and crafts and painting classes. They have movies every night. It’s just like a five star hotel. They got a great chef and a big dining hall. They can eat anytime they want as much as they want. She can have visitors in, and we can have dinner with her. I'm very impressed with this so far.
