I toured Autumn Park. I chose it because it's close to my son. The lady that we spoke with was very nice and very helpful. They said that they serve one meal a day. The facility is old, and that's why they're revamping it. They had a big dining room, which is where you walk in when you go there. The only bad thing about them is that they only have two-bedroom apartments in each building, and I got the last one in that building.

My mom moved into Autumn Park. She's been there for a week and a half. I like it because it has activities. It also has a lunch meal provided. It's an older facility, which is probably to my dislike, but it's very adequate. They just have a manager. I've placed three phone calls, and I have not received a phone call in return. The facility seems to be kept up well. I don't have any complaints about it. They have get-togethers, bingo, and Bible study. They have birthday and holiday celebrations. I know that there are some outside groups that come in for different things. They have a nice library, laundry on both floors, lots of little seating areas throughout the facility, a common area upstairs with a library, another large common area downstairs in the entry, and the common area where they have their meals at lunch. There's a beautiful grand piano. They have a coffee bar down in the common area, which is a nice little thing to get people together to visit.

Mom has been living in Autumn Park for about four years. The cost is based upon their income, and it has some income guidelines. It's secure and very clean. The apartments are very nice, well kept, and for an income-based community it's very well done. They have a community dining area, very affordable meals, an elevator for both floors, and a community craft room. There is no exercise facility there, which is a little bit of a drawback, and I would say the location for most people might not be convenient -- it's a little bit rural. I'm not too crazy about the food there, so I buy all my mom's food.

I will be moving to Autumn Park Retirement. They have a handicap room, and that is where I am going to be moving into. I just like the people there, and the staff are very good. It seemed a very nice place. They have a beauty shop in there. It's a really nice place.
