"The assisted living facility that I found for my client is called Mount Alverna Village. It is run by the Franciscan Sisters from Chicago. My client is a former Franciscan priest. The place is very relaxed and comfortable. I think the staff is very helpful and very interested in trying to do whatever they can do to make my client’s stay there as pleasant as possible. He seems to be thriving there. The room is physically adequate. The dining area is not terribly large, but it doesn’t need to be. It is sufficient for those that would be in the room at any one time. They have various activities, too. "

"I visited the one in Bedford, Woodside Senior Living. The staff was very friendly, and the place was nice and clean. It looked like they're really hands-on with their residents. They do a lot of stuff with them, like bingo and going to the casino. The staff explained everything. The apartments have a good layout. Each of them has a little patio."

"I toured Rose Senior Living Beachwood. They were very clean. They have all the amenities. They have cooking and bathing assistance if you need it, and if you need your hair done, there's a place to get it done. The security is very, very upscale. I like that. When someone's coming to visit you, they can't just come in and sign in. You have to go through a sign-in system, a keypad with your ID, and everything. So, it makes you feel a little bit more secure about your loved ones if you go away for a little while and they're at home. The staff is knowledgeable. They talked about meal preps and stuff, and they will fix the meal. You will come down and get them, and then you can either have them there or take them to your unit. It's a very nice place. I have two friends who stay there, and they love it. They said the food tastes pretty good."

"My mother is at Alpine House of Maple Heights. The first thing I like about it, for my mother's situation, is getting her away from danger. I like that the other residents there were in the same situation (and some different situations) and she would be able to be social rather than staying at home alone while me and my daughter work. She gets to meet people and be social, so I love that about it. I love the fact that they take them out on outings like to any grocery store they want to go to or any shopping center they want to go to. Also because my mom is a recovering drug addict, they even have NA meetings there. They have a beauty shop there, so my mother doesn't have to necessarily go out for her haircut because now she can stay and get her haircut. They have 24-hour care where they have nurses, 24 hours. They have a doctor that comes in regularly. They have restaurant-style dining. The apartment is a nice size, too. It's also very, very clean. The staff are so nice and pleasant. They are so caring and understanding. When I went to visit with my mom last week, it was lunchtime, and they offered me a meal. The meals were pretty nice. They're almost like home-cooked meals. We had tuna casserole, and it was really good. Another thing is that they have activities. They have a whole big old room for activities. They have an in-house spa and residents can make an appointment to go to the spa. They have different activities throughout the day. They leave out books, coloring pages, and crossword puzzles on different tables. And then they set up time for different activities also."

"I had lunch at Deer Creek Lodge and it was OK. The facility was very nice. The people and the staff were really friendly. The rooms were a very nice size compared to other rooms that I've seen. It was very clean."

"Villas at King David was an excellent facility. They had the dining room and a nice bedroom or studio apartment with a little kitchen area, but only a microwave because they provide the food. They had activities for them and transportation. It was a very, very wonderful location. The staff was great. It's a beautiful place. My brother did like the place. It's just that he said he did not need assisted living. He doesn't need help with medications or anything like that."

"I was a resident of Vista Springs Greenbriar Village. It's an older building, but it's very well-kept. I was actively involved for the first time in several activities, and that is because of the friendliness of the residents. So, I got involved. We had ice cream specials on Friday. They brought in a manicurist to do the patient's nails and give them a facial massage. It wasn't a problem, but they sent me a meal I couldn't eat. The chef came to visit me in my room and asked me to give him a list of the food I could and could not eat. He made my meals special for me every single time until I left. The staff was just beautiful. I've been in a wheelchair for the last four years, but they got me walking. I'm walking better every day. The physical therapy department was good. The building was very clean. When I first moved there for a couple of months, I had a room to myself, and then they had to make some adjustments because I shared a room with another person."

"Richmond Heights Place was new, it's clean, and it's a lovely area. The staff there was very accommodating, full of information, and very helpful. I spoke with the cook and they were very proud of their food service. They have social activities with the residents, but there is no swimming pool, gym, or any of those kinds of things. The dining was very nice and they had a courtyard. The grounds were beautiful. The cleanliness was excellent. There was fast food available close by, and there was a hospital probably 20 minutes."

"My husband is a resident of Heritage of Euclid's assisted living. So far, the staff is friendly, and they are doing a pretty good job. I would describe his room as being adequate. I would say the upkeep is okay, and the activities are pretty good. My husband is not very active, but I've seen them doing crafts and taking the residents out. For amenities, they have a salon, and that's about it."

"Sunrise At Parma was a very nice-looking place. It was a smaller place than the others I've toured, they had about 50 residents. It felt very homey to me. In a lot of the other places I went to, you hardly see anybody, but when we were here, you see people sitting down to eat, you see people walking around, and you see people sitting outside. When you walk in there was a dog sleeping, it just had a very nice atmosphere. The people that we met were super nice. The best thing was that it was not huge and we saw a lot of the residents when we visited. The one who gave us the tour was Lauren, and she was super accommodating. We took our dad and we were telling her that we were trying to make it not look like a planned visit, and we asked her not to say anything about the cost upfront because that would skew my dad. So she was super nice, she did everything we asked, and she was awesome."

"I was guardian of an elderly patient. He was transferred from another facility. I cannot say enough good things about the staff and the facility. It was clean. The staff made special meals for the patient when he did not like the menu. They made sure he ate. They even ordered special meals for him. They were wonderful. When he died, the director and at least 6 of the staff came to the funeral and they sent flowers. They only have 16 patients and they really care for their patients. I would place a relative of mine in this facility with batting an eye."
