"My brother is in Elgin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. I was impressed with the facilities and equipment they have to try to rehab him. They said they're going to work with his physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy. However, the cost is paramount, but they're willing to work with that and help me find resources. The staff is great, very friendly, very knowledgeable, they answered a lot of the questions that I had, and helped me raise questions that I didn't have. They are very accommodating. It's an older facility, but it's neat. His room is really clean and they also talked about how they're going to do his hygiene. I'd rate the community high in terms of cleanliness and appearance."

"My husband was at Riverside on and off for 5 months. The caring loving respect and help we received was excellent. The staff superb and the facility excellent. I have never met such caring people before. He was in another rehab center and we took him out as soon as possible. Everyone from the housekeeping staff to the director are really involved in a persons care. I just can't express my thanks enough "

"We chose Oakland Manor Nursing Home for our mother because it was closer to home. The staff were all real good, and the rooms were OK. They get them up and walk, and they play games. The dining room was nice. I have no complaints. "

"My sister-in-law is in the nursing home at Walnut Hills. From what I see, it's not the best place where I would want to put my family member. The person I interacted with there is very nice, and the welcome was very pleasant. It was very good, but they're not fast except for that one guy in the wing where she was. There were nights when she needed help in the bathroom that she had to do it on her own because nobody came to help her. The place is clean. I am looking for a hospital bed for my sister-in-law to donate to them because I think nobody needs to be on that bed since it belongs to the trash. They need better consideration of the elderly, but I think the pricing is good. She shares a room with somebody else, and there's just a bed, nightstand, and closet."

"Heritage Park Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing tried very hard. They worked with me for a very, very long time trying to get my friend in there. The staff was very nice. It just didn't work out because of the finances. They stayed on top of it as far as calling me and everything. The facility was very clean."

"Sedona Trace Health & Wellness was like a rehab nursing place. My mom was in there about two years ago and then I had a friend that went there as well this year. My friend was satisfied with her room and her roommate. It was great. It's a beautiful little facility. It was clean and kept very well. The staff was pleasant. I'm sure my friend got her money's worth. She didn't complain about anybody harming her or hurting her."

"This facility seems to be cozy and is located in a small town. It has a home/family atmosphere which was quite appealing. After spending some time there, it did become apparent that they may be in need of more staff. There didn't seem to be enough nursing assistants readily available when needed. The cleanliness of the facility seemed to be on the up and up. Meals seemed to be pretty well balanced and nutritious. The activity department was well stocked and had a lot of interesting and exciting activities planned for residents and family members. The overall daily schedule for resident activities was pretty well planned out from what I was able to witness. The employees seemed to genuinely care for the well-being of the residents. "

"My mom is in rehab at Parkview. It's a nice place, and they treat people really good. The staff is really good with her. It's a good location, and it's close to my home. It's a good place for her right now, and she says the food is good. They keep the place clean, and it doesn't smell. They have some good activities and games."

"I can't say enough about this group of people. I have used them with my own family as well as patients. They are ready to help 24 hours a day. They not only making sure the patient is comfortable but that the family has the support and understanding that they need. I must also add the services they offer to families after the love ones have passed is a wonderful added service. I really can't say enough about them. They go beyond the call of duty and I give them 5 stars. "

"My sister is currently at Legend Oaks Healthcare and Rehabilitation of North Austin. Everything is fine there. It's a wonderful place. It's the best nursing home I've seen in Texas. The staff is very good. It's just that the residents there are not able to have a conversation with my sister because a lot of them have Alzheimer's. The environment there is what's taking her down. The only people she can talk to are the staff, and they don't have the luxury of time to have conversations with her. They have activities there, but most of the residents can only play bingo and participate in puzzles. They try to provide as many activities as they can, but these residents are not capable of enjoying them. They have people that come and sing for them or read books for them. Her room is clean and there's no odor. The floors are clean. She gets a shower at the time she's supposed to. They have a big lounge with a TV and a very big dining area. The food is good, but it's not put together really well."

"We went to Southpark Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center right from hospitalization. It was like an immediate placement. The room and dining room were very good and beautiful. It was close to home, and they do have activities, but the staff is very young. "

"Southpark Meadows was clean. They just didn't seem to care a lot about the patients. They were not attentive. I asked when they were going to change my mother, and the staff said to let her finish what she's doing. Five minutes later, I looked out in the hall and she was sitting down eating. She seemed irritated when I reminded her that she was going to come help. The rooms were OK, and the facilities were pretty good. The night shift seemed to be busy watching TV, eating, and visiting each other. They need to be more attentive to the needs of the people, at least in the nursing facility section. They need to shorten their response time when the patients ask for help."

"Southwood Care Center is tucked away on a cul-de-sac, so it is quiet. It's all one story so residents who can walk or propel their own wheelchairs can get outside when they want which is great. My mom lived there for several years and although there was of course some staff turnover, there was enough continuity that she always seemed to have someone to take an interest in her personally. The activity director works really hard within her budget to have a variety of things for the residents to do. It was cool also because they sometimes let family members hold memorial services there for residents who have passed away so that their friends can easily pay their respects. This is great for long-term residents. It is always clean and I found the staff to be responsive. It's an older facility but they are working to keep it up. The food service lady is a long-term employee and very conscientious. "
