Nursing Home Communities in Reidsville, NC

"My dad has been living at Blumenthal Nursing & Rehabilitation for three months. It's one of the best ones in Greensboro. The staff is very nice and pleasant. It’s a wonderful place. The place is beautiful and everything is topbnotch. They have parties, outings, facials, hand care, nail polish, games, and movies. They have a whole listing of things that people want to participate in. They have people coming in to sing and play the piano. It's just a warm and beautiful sight. I have had a large issue with the nursing staff in the rehab area which is being addressed, and it's about my dad not eating for four days. I repeatedly told the nurse, but it was pretty much put off as, "It's OK, they have good and bad days" but my dad got extremely dehydrated and that’s why he's in the hospital right now. The staff is wonderful, but the two nurses who didn't pay attention to him were not. The food is fabulous, and they give out ice cream. It's a lovely place overall. It kind of has the appearance of a little resort with beautiful side rooms for visits and several lobbies. The cost is comparable to everywhere else."

"I toured Well-Spring Retirement Community. It has everything you could want for all levels, and it is a large facility that would allow me to walk get my steps and get in shape. It has a gym. It has a swimming pool. It's hard to beat that. It was very clean. The cafeteria was very nice. It was very pleasant. Everybody there was pleasant and was very willing to talk and give me all the information I wanted."

"My mom is a resident of Heartland Living & Rehabilitation. I would say that the staff there is excellent. Just great people. I was there last year, and everybody there was great and helpful. They're always asking their questions if they need anything. They're on top of it. Especially her social worker, Carolyn, is just a wonderful woman. She is just great. She is on top of it. The nursing home is older, but it was clean. I didn't see anything really out of place. I witnessed some of the older folks doing their physical therapy, and some of them were in a big dining area. They weren't really eating, they were like playing games, everybody was co-mingling. It's an older facility, but other than that, the physical appearance on the inside was fine, and the staff was super nice and super attentive. The rooms looked really neat, too. The place wasn't worn and torn and torn down looking or anything like that. I'm going to give them a five strictly because of how attentive the staff is. They're just excellent. My mother loves it. They do her hair and her nails and everything, so she loves it. She also loves their food. I think she thinks she's getting the most bang for the buck."

"Thank you and your staff for all you have done. You all are the only ones who did what you said you would do and provided wonderful care for my mom. I think the reason we were sent to you is so I could see that there really are people in health care who really care about and take pride in the care that they give. I was so impressed by what I saw. I really wish you all were closer to my home. You all were magnificent!! If she doesn’t get care where she is at now that is as good as what you all gave her. I may be back. You all really set a high standard in what to expect with the care in facilities like yours. Thank you again, "

"My mother is still at Twin Lakes Community. It is excellent. Moving into assisted living, they have a brand-new facility, which is beautiful, very accessible, spacious, airy, and enjoyable to be in. The staff are very personable and very caring. Whatever is requested, it tends to be done almost immediately. They're on the spot, they're there to care and they show it. They have a cafeteria style, and the food has always been very good. It's onsite and only probably 40 yards away from where my mom lives. It's expensive there like anywhere when you're in assisted living. But at this point, because of the religious backing and of being a foundation-oriented organization, once you're in, you're in through all your life stages. They're more expensive than others. But once you run through the assets, you turn to Medicaid, and she's still there. She's on Medicaid and is receiving the same services as if she was paying the full amount. "

"I think this facility is pretty good. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The food is not so great but of course it could be what grandma has to eat. I do have a problem with them not turning her like they should She has developed a bed sore and they do not turn her properly. The overall cleaning is ok. I think they could be a lot cleaner. It would also help if they removed some of the stuff out of the hallway. There are stretchers, carts, wheel chairs and misc items all over the hallway. Sometimes the patients are rather rude but I guess it is because they have major problems. They rarely taker her outside and she loves the outdoors. It is in a fairly decent location in Danville though. Most places in the area seem to be in sketchy neighborhoods but this one is not so bad. "

"My mother stayed at Friends Homes. It was a great place. They were very kind. The staff got to know my mom until the end. I knew there was a problem, and I called to have a welfare check. I called the nurse that we had been working with, and she didn't go check on my mom. As it turned out, my mom had fallen. She couldn't get up, but she waited until she heard other people in the hall going to dinner. She just yelled until somebody responded, so I don't know how long she was on the ground. She then went to the hospital and we discovered that she most likely had lung cancer. And I think that's not their fault at all. But other than that, the staff was fabulous. My mom said she didn't have to cook the food, so it was great for her. My mom was a difficult person, but she was reasonably happy there, which for her was probably as happy as she had been anywhere. Every other staff member was phenomenal. The facility was very nice. It's a very well-established home. They have anything that you could want. They had fabulous activities. The price was very reasonable for what she got."

"I am grateful to the staff at Kindred Hospital SAU 3 WEST in Greensboro.The RNs, the CNAs, the RT, the OT, the PT, the ST, the Lab technicians, Housekeeping, Doctors, Kitchen staff, the Social worker, and all the aids and leaders of each department would greet you with a smile and ask me if I needed anything. If I had questions, they would take the time to answer or find me the answer. If I felt frightened, they would calm my fears. They were truthful, kind, understanding, and supportive. I would recommend this unit to anyone needing long term care. Thank you"

"What I like about Village at Brookwood is that it's a small place and once you are in there, you can go to different stages with where your health takes you. It’s a beautiful facility. I also like the small-town feeling. They had us over for dinner one night with two of the ladies that live over there, and they have wonderful food. The ladies were very nice too and very interesting to talk to. They have all kinds of activities, like they have yoga classes, they take people to concerts or if there is something special going on, they arrange that and they take them by bus. It is very, very well organized. The apartment that I am interested in is a one bedroom apartment and it is large. It's very, very well planned. "

"My mother stayed there for about 5 weeks recovering from a hospital stay and it really helped her out. Food was good and the room was very nice. Staff is super nice, well educated in the field and did a great job having to deal with my mother and her issues. Physical therapy worked with her while she was there and when she wanted to be helped it was a valuable part of her stay. Highly recommended."

We have up all of issues related to home maintenance, HOA dues, taxes, and utilities and gained peace of mind. We have so many friends now and have never enjoyed so much activity in our lives.
