"This placed is a really nice place for my father to live. He basicaly has his onw apartment with medical staff around. He doesnt have a rooomate and the rooms are very big with little kitchenettes in them. It is nicer then the apartment he lived in before. Plus its cheaper now and he has the medical care he needs. The staff is great! They are all really friendly people. They also have lots of activitys for the seniors to do. My dad loves bingo night there! They also have a shuffle board outside witch me and my dad often play. There is a gym and libary too. most nights my dad likes to play bridge with friends he has made there. I must say he has became way more social since moving him here. I believe he is happier now even know he wasnt to crazy about the idea at first. Now I know he will be happy living there for awhile he seem to be doing much bettr health wise. I have also tried the food there with was very good in my oopinio, and dad likes it too. They have a turkey dinner there that is really good and come with all the trimmings he defintly eats better there then i do at home. so over all i would say this is a really good place for your love ones. I would recommend it to anyone who has a love one who is aging and isolated its really helped my dad. "

"My mother was receiving rehab at Sherrill House. She stayed there for three weeks. I thought the social workers were good at communicating and the nursing staff came in to check with her regularly. I'm not sure she had a clear idea of what her treatment was. It's possible that that was explained to her and she just had a hard time following all of it. I would recommend that they maybe have something written down for residents so that if they're having memory issues, they can at least see what their day looks like or their calendar looks like, but on the whole, I thought they did a fine job. She was sharing a room with another resident. It was like being in a hospital. It didn't feel like being in a home. She did need medical care, so that was OK."

"Mom is in Benjamin Healthcare Center. It is very welcoming, clean, and it smells nice. The staff is very polite, and the medical care of the patients appears to be appropriate. The rooms, they are all top notch. They have an activities director and physical therapist. They have all the requirements that facilities like that should have, and I didn't find it deficient in any area. They are a nursing home, and they also facilitate long term care. "

"Glen Ridge was absolutely beautiful. I did see it a year ago in preparation, and I felt like it was a five-star hotel. It was just gorgeous; the grounds were nice when you arrive. The greeting person -- the intake officer -- wasn't as nice though as the others that I have met since then, but the whole building itself was really lovely, and the facilities looked very well-maintained, modern, and clean. I went to the secured floor for the dementia unit residents, and it was a really nice setting. It goes around and around, so that if anybody does like to walk and wander, they walk around and around, so there is no getting lost down another hallway or a corridor or turning corners that don't lead you back to where you belong, and so I thought of that as really nicely laid-out. The rooms were lovely, and you can bring your own furniture. They also cater to end of life, which was what actually appealed to me the most because you don't have to move your person once they became more demented or more ill and needed hospice; they take care of the person right to the end, so I liked that too. Unfortunately with Glen Ridge, as beautiful as it is, it is hugely expensive. The cost factor makes it very difficult, but it is beautiful. "

"I would give Leonard Florence Center for Living an A in everything. I went to visit my brother-in-law. It's primarily a Jewish nursing home and it's transitional. People go there as nursing home residents and then some of them go into assisted living, and I thought they were excellent. They had everything you could have except they did not have a swimming pool."

"My brother lives at Dexter and I think the staff are great. They are very considerate and helpful. The Activity Director has done a good job getting everyone involved. "

"The rooms here our a bit older but a nice size and pretty standard. all of the staff are very nice and helpful especially the rehab and activity staff. They offer Bingos and afternoon movies and Catholic masses. "

"We went to the Chelsea Jewsih nursing home a few years ago, to see if we could place my grand,other there for a few months since we werent able to take care of her at home at the time. The home was beautiful! It was clean and it didnt smell like a hospital, which was what I was expecting. It was eey elcoming and inviting. The staff were great, they rated my grandmother very nicely. The cost was covered by Medicare, so we didn't have to pay for her to be there, the home gave her a short trial to see if she lik it. When we went to see my grandmother a few days later, she wouldn't stop talking about all the friends treat she made! She loved it there, "

"My sister is a resident of Eastpointe Nursing Care Center for 1 ½ years now. Overall, there were many good things, but from time to time, we have issues there with care. There were some CNAs who were not helpful, but some go above and beyond. She's in a private room, but she shares a bathroom with individuals in a shared room. The activities there are very good, they have entertainment from time to time on the second floor in the area that they use as a dining room, they schedule it in between dinner and supper time. They do some kind of bowling, they do bingo, and trivia. She's covered by Medicare and Medicaid."

"My wife passed away at Armenian Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was only there for a week because she was very ill when she was admitted. I checked a few places, and I liked what I saw there. It was very nice and very clean. The staff were very cordial. They did an excellent job. She was in a room with one other patient. It was nice and suitable. They also have a TV room and a deck they can go out on. I was there when the food was served. It seemed good. I didn’t eat, though. They have a big dining hall where they serve food, and they serve it depending on the patient’s needs. I would highly recommend them. "

"My husband is in the Veteran's Adult Care group at the Soldiers Home and it has done wonders for him. Actually, it has helped his memory and conversation a little. The people there are so kind, thoughtful and understanding. The people that attend love it. They get to talk about their time in the service and they all seem to love that. They go over the newspaper with them every morning and then have a discussion about current events. Some days the play a DVD with "older" music which the men and women love. Some days my husband does not want to leave there. I'm so greatful to my husband's Dr. for telling me about this program. I wish more people knew of it. "

"I visit my Aunt at this facility and it has improved tremendously, Each unit is going through construction and it looks very nice and updated. Residents were smiling and enjoy the new atmosphere and nursing care is great have not had any issues. My Aunt enjoys the daily activities as well. I am happy with the care that has been given and the staff is great. This place has really improved and I think people should visit if they are in need of care for a family member. "

"My husband is now at Laurel Ridge Rehab Center. The staff is supportive and caring. They do a good job. They have mainly three residents in a room. They also have two semi-private rooms. Each bedroom has a bureau, a bedside table, and a TV. Each three bedrooms have to share a bathroom."
