"Ave Maria (St Francis Care Center) was recommended by several people. My mom has been a devout Catholic all her life and the fact that they have a chapel there and a mass everyday and that was very important, that is why we chose this place for her. She moved there on February 28th.This facility seemed like a very good fit for my mom. I have her in a small private room where she has a nice view looking out the window. Her room is nice. I found the staff to be very caring. They have an excellent activities director. She has a lot of love and care for the people there. At Ave Maria, they have the equipment to get my mom into a wheelchair. Also mom is participating with other residents there in activities and things. She just seems to be much happier and doing much better. She doesn't have any problem with the food. "

Welcome to Hacienda Carmel Community! Hacienda Carmel is a self-managed Condominium Association that falls under the auspices of Federal Senior Housing Residency Restrictions. Hacienda Carmel is not a community licensed as a "continuing care retirement community," a "residential care facility for the elderly," or otherwise equipped to accept responsibility for or care for persons who are not capable of safely living independently. Hacienda Carmel is a Active Adult (55 and older) Community. Condominium "maintenance fees" are billed monthly by the Association. They are based upon 'classification of unit' (studio, one bedroom, two bedroom, etc.). The monthly fees cover the utilities (electric, gas, water, garbage, basic phone service (with the exception of TV cable which is billed separately)); as well as fire, liability and flood insurance (in addition to the various business insurances) for all buildings on the property, both residential and administrative. The fees additionally cover the various amenities at Hacienda Carmel, including a professional and helpful staff, maintenance of the common area, contributions to the Association's Reserve Fund (to repair and replace assets & infrastructure), and security staff on site. Hacienda Carmel is self-governed, with an elected Board of Directors. Occupants must meet the Senior Housing Residency Restrictions, and must apply for occupancy and be approved by the Board of Directors before they occupy. Condominiums at Hacienda Carmel are owned Fee Simple. Rentals are restricted to 15% of the total units and there is currently a waiting list for units that wish to rent. Units for sale can be determined by calling a local real estate agent. Rentals of authorized units are handled privately as well, however, all prospective lessees are subject to occupancy approval by the Board of Directors, the same as owner/occupants. "Katherine Healthcare has provided highly skilled nursing, rehabilitation therapy, and post-acute care services to both my 90-year-old brother and currently myself. Having much experience with larger local facilities, Katherine treats their patients with utmost dignity and respect not just a barcode on a wristband. Every staff member displays a true heart for the patients. We are more like family than patients. The facility administration runs a very tight ship often on-site weekends and holidays. The therapists utilize the gym rigorously to achieve maximum recovery as soon as possible. As a soon to be discharged patient I highly recommend Katherine Healthcare to anyone in need for their self or their loved one, weather for post-acute recovery or long-term care. Definitely a 5-star facility!!! "

"My mother was admitted to The Ridge February 8, 2015. She was transferred there to recuperate and to recover from a brain surgery that was due on a fall on her head. Also, she has wounds and ulcer on her heels that need ongoing medical care. She also requires regular physical or occupational therapy. Her P/T, Josielyn, is really helping her out to walk again. Her CNA, Anna Saenz (7a.m. to 3 p.m. shift),help with tasks of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting. The Ridge provides round-the-clock medical supervision and 24-hour staffing by licensed or registered nurses. I have met L. Bey, nurse practitioner, and she explained all the medical care that is being administered to my mother. All the R.N.s and C.N.A.s and the rest of the staffs are very accommodating, professional, and very friendly. The Ridge is "spic and span", very clean. My sister and I visit my mother everyday for at least 3 hours. "

"My father has moved into Windsor Skyline Care Center. The care is very good, and there is plenty of help throughout. Everybody helps everybody there. He likes the food; it's very good. The rooms are small: 2-bed, 2-room. Visiting hours are really flexible. Masks are to be worn when visiting the room at this time. I find it to be very clean, and they were very respectful to the residents. The staff is very good. They answer all my questions. If they don't have the answer, they tend to go find it or send me to somewhere where I can get it. I did see on a board, there was an activity thing. I saw things like bingo and a walk that was going to be done either today or tomorrow. There was movie night, and there was a meet and greet time on the calendar. I did see a place that has a library. Other than the rehab facility, I really didn't see a lot. I did see what they called a meeting place. It was like a lunchroom/activity room. My father doesn't have a problem eating the food. I think it's very good value for money."

"My mother is in Windsor. It is excellent and clean and has a very caring staff. It's a very good place. The meals are fine; they have three meals a day plus snacks that are customized depending on the patient's needs. They have great activities for those who want to participate, like people coming in and singing, liturgical services, and bingo. The activity room is always open for those who want it. The rooms are adequate, and come in a variety of single and shared rooms, wherein they put people of the same personality together. I'm very pleased with Windsor. "

"Our mother is a current resident of this facility & has been for the past year & a half living in long term assisted care. After being diagnosed with Alzheimers Dementia & living with my husband & I for almost 2 years prior to her coming here, my sister & I feel we understand her needs. The quality of attentive care she has received at Pacific Coast Care has been exceptional! The entire staff, doctors, nurses, cna's, housekeeping, laundry, meals, activity direcors & all of the administrators continue to provide the upmost of loving & compassionate care for her. We would strongly recommend Pacific Coast/Kindred, Nursing & Transitional Care to anyone who may need this type of care. We feel very fortunate knowing our mother is safe & being well taken care of. "My dad is staying in Watsonville Post Acute for long-term care, and it's close to where we live. They are helping him with rehab because he can't walk. They feed him, clothe him, and bathe him. They get him in some physical therapy and stuff like that. There have been a couple of incidents of him falling, considering he can't get up and walk, and that's a concern, but it happens everywhere, so they were aware of it. The facility is clean. It doesn't stink when you go there, like urine or some places smell. It's very active and busy. They're always cleaning and changing stuff. My dad's bed is always made and always neat and clean, and he's always clean. The food is like any hospital food. It's bland. They've got some decent programs. They're all too expensive, but that's how it is."

"My mother is at Valley Convalescent Hospital. She has only been there for a week and a half now. She has a wound that they're dealing with, and she has MS, so it's harder for her to get around. They pretty much do everything other than feed her. She feeds herself. The staff is good and really helpful. They keep you updated on what's going on. For any changes, they call me all the time. My mother has a roommate. Their room has been updated. There are beds and curtains divider in there. It's got nice flooring. My mother has her own TV. They have their own bathroom. In terms of cleanliness, the place is really clean. They have an activity director. They do all holidays, they have parties, they have food, they have music, and they play bouncy ball things. They're active, which is good."

"My mother-in-law is at Pacific Coast Manor. The facility is very small and clean. Everybody is very friendly there. My mother-in-law is eating everything. She hasn't complained at all about the food, and she's a picky person. The rooms were small. My mother-in-law's insurance company is paying for it. She has been getting really good care."

"My mom is at Hearts and Hands Post Acute Care and Rehab Center. I think this is her third week. It's very clean, and the people are very professional. They're very good on probably everything. Communication is great. They're very attentive, very knowledgeable, and professional. The rehab is going well. The staff are very, very good. My mom was in a shared room and then she was on antibiotics, so they had to move her into an isolated room. The activities are a bit limited. It's not like a big open facility; it's a lot about rehab. But they have reading, they have puzzles, they have get-together rooms, and they have TVs. There's a whole separate facility for the rehab and I haven't been back there, but it's working for my mom. She is up and about, so physical therapy is doing pretty well."
