"I moved into Pacific Grove Senior Living. My daughter and I vacationed here last year, and I fell in love with it. I loved the location, I loved the people, and it was just something that impressed me when I went home. I loved the environment. Jonathan, the coordinator, was a magnificent help to my daughter and me because we drove across the country. We drove from Delaware to here, and he was absolutely fantastic. He kept up with us and made sure that we were OK. The management and the staff are great. The people are so friendly and welcoming. I couldn't have asked for anything more. It's just a good experience for me. They're very, very good people. I don't have food service. I cook my own food. The facility has its issues every once in a while, but basically it's good. They have all kinds of activities for you to take part in. For this area, the value for the money is good."

"I was impressed with the person I spoke to because she was lovely, very knowledgeable, and very experienced. I would have nothing negative to say about The Cottages at all. The one unit that was available for me to see that day was small. I saw a one and a two-bedroom, and they provide a weekly room service. They have a lot of activities that I would be interested in engaging in. The place is immaculate. The location was very tempting for me because you are free to walk out the door. You could go across to a charming and small shopping center. The food here is lovely. I would recommend it. I would say that it is the best that we have to offer here in the Carmel-Monterey area. "

"My brother is currently in Merrill Gardens at Monterey. I have found them to be very responsive. It's a very uplifting atmosphere. They have lots of activities. The facility has amazingly 12-hour restaurant-style dining. So, they can go downstairs anywhere between 7 in the morning and 7 at night and eat. I've never had a bad meal, it's very good. They have happy hour on Thursdays where they have live music and entertainment, and they have a large activity room and a big screen TV where they watch movies twice a day. They have an exercise room with guided exercises for seniors. They go on excursions. They got a bus where they can take 15 or 20 people and they go to plays and they go to the grocery stores and out to eat lunch. It's just a very involved, beautiful complex. They've got five levels of care, which takes them from totally independent living right up to memory care - dementia and Alzheimer's. And so, you don't have to move. I was there for Thanksgiving dinner and that seriously was the best turkey I've ever had in my life. They do a wonderful, wonderful job. It's a new facility, it's like four or five years old. "

"Forest Hill Manor has independent, assisted, and nursing, and I looked at the independent for myself and assisted for a friend of mine. It's very good. I liked everything about it. The only thing that I don't like is Pacific Grove has a lot of fog. The person during the tour was very pleasant. The food was good and the dining area was very nice. They redid it, it's large, and it's very inviting. I've gone there for lunch and tea and I'm invited again for a tea. The staff was nice. They went out of their way and they're very pleasant."
