"The Vineyards at The California Armenian Home (Formerly California Home For The Aged) is very well lit, very well taken care of, and it's pretty much brand new. My experience has been great. The staff is great. If I ask a question, they tell me what I should do. They guided me through the process. They keep my wife busy, keep her occupied, and keep her challenged. They have all sorts of activities from cards to activities that challenge your memory, to socialization, to music, to concerts, and to outdoor visitations. She has a private room with a shared bathroom. They're probably the best value price wise."

"Twilight Haven's director, Crystal, was very helpful in the process. She helped me go through the steps. I needed to know it was possible to get my uncle in there. She made me aware of a form that I could have his doctor sign to be able to get him in the facility which started our process. He will be moving into their assisted living this month. During my visit, I would describe the staff as very friendly and dedicated to their patients or the seniors. The facilities and amenities could be a little updated but they have a salon and a courtyard. They also have a place for events. The facility is conveniently located in between the family, it's in the middle of where all our family lives. It's quite near shopping centers too."

"My sister has been at Pacific Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation for almost 2 years now. They work with me, and they do the best they can with the meals. They have singers come in, and they bring them out into this one big living room. At Christmas time, they'll have people come in and do Santa. They used to have somebody come in as a beautician for the ladies, but they don't have that anymore because of Covid. If you can't afford to be in there, they take Medicaid."

"My father, Ted Robert W, arrived with his big cowboy hat and of course a little anxiety. His 6 children were nervous for him as this was his new home.. The staff soon put us all at ease and went out of their way to make him feel comfortable. Our family was very hands on and at the facility a great deal of time. This meant the poor staff not only had to cater to Dads needs but to ours as well. They were amazing!!! I am thankful for these dedicated, and professional fun employees. Keep up the good work. I will miss you and many of the clients you serve. You have very difficult jobs and do a wonderful service for our community. Thank you all"

"My father ended up at Orchard Post Acute. The people were very caring. They took good care of the patients that were there. It's a skilled facility. It's not someplace you could stay at, but it was a good one. They really tried very hard with my dad. He came in with a lot of issues. Anything that happened to him, anything that needed attention, the nurse called immediately. Getting through to any of the directors and others in charge sometimes would take two or three calls, which I kind of understand because they got other things to do other than just spend time with the patient's family. He had physical therapy and that was about it. You get your money's worth."

"My mom is currently at Kingsburg Care Center. We've been very impressed with it. It doesn't smell bad. We thought we would have trouble getting her in but she is enjoying it. She has some memory issues and they seem to deal with them very well. We are very pleased. She's clean, she's fed, and she's happy. She likes the food and she is putting on weight. The staff has been good. We had a little bit of a hard time starting, just because they wanted us to sign responsibility for her and they were pretty persistent about it, but we didn't want to do that."

"Golden Living Center in Fresno has a Five-Star Medicare rating for a reason. The facility is clean and nurtures a culture of innovation. They have a specialized program for congestive heart failure patients and their registered nurses are ACLS certified. This was the first time that I have encountered a skilled nursing facility that has profoundly elevated the standards of care. In addition, I also met the facility's executive director, Ms. Walters, whose door is always open to patients and staff members. I would recommend this skilled nursing facility to any family member who is seeking compassionate and competent nursing care. This facility is definitely a role model in the healthcare community. "

"This facility was outstanding in the care and kindness my Aunt received! Not going to lie, she was a difficult patient, but all the staff were patient, kind, professional and OUTSTANDING! I'm truly grateful for all the care, therapy and hygiene needs she received while residing there. I was honestly impressed with all staff from the excellent receptionist at the front desk, the business staff and the medical staff!! Great job people! I appreciated each one of you! "

"Our experience touring Palm Village Retirement Community was very good and very nice. I thought it was very well kept and very well organized for memory care. I thought it was great. The rooms were very nice. High-quality upgrades. Good furniture. Everything was nice. The room was more of a studio set-up like a hotel room. They have both skilled nursing and memory care areas, and they also have memory care in the skilled nursing, which is a combination that's hard to find. I saw their rooms, the eating area, and the outdoor garden."

"I was moved here from St. Jude's for recovery, treatment and physical therapy. I'll keep this as short as I can. Upon entering, a distinct and unpleasant odor hit me, immediately giving me bad vibes. On a positive note, you get used to it. The nurses were caring and friendly with me, also a positive. One other positive were the therapists; good crew when I was there a handful of years back. They were friendly and helpful. Now for the food. Absolutely TERRIBLE. I felt like it couldn't get more unpalatable. I've never been to prison, but I can't imagine it being worse. It was so bad, I had family bring real food in from the outside. And I can eat nearly anything. This was simply atrocious. As others have mentioned, there were police nearly always in the hallways, standing guard outside a random room. At least we knew where the felons were residing. Heard gunshots one night, uncomfortably close to the facility. So to sum up, the staff were friendly and helpful, not being timely only a handful of times over the course of nearly three months. The food though was terrible, the biggest complaint I had. I can only hope things have improved since. The day I was released to the comfort of my home was a godsend. It's just not the most comfortable and happy place to be while recovering. Thankfully, I'm fairly good at adjusting to not the best situations. "

"This is an older 89 bed skilled nursing facility that could use a small facelift; they've started replacing some of the flooring. The grounds are nice; they have a nice gated patio. They also have an uncovered patio that is not secure and could be a problem if a patient roamed because of the busy street. The rooms are semi-private with 2 to 4 per room, clean, and some have sliding patio doors for viewing outdoors. Patients needing feeding assistance were gathered in the dining room for lunch. I didn't detect any obnoxious odors. The meal menu was typical hospital food; I didn't see any fresh items. The patients that I saw were clean and I didn't hear anyone asking for help. "

"I would definitely place my mom or dad at this community. They have a large selection of independent living apartments and have are finishing construction on a three story apartment complex with granite countertops! This is owned and supported by a local church so the rates are very reasonable. The complex also has assisted living, skilled nursing, hospice, and Alzheimer's/dementia services. The dining areas are spacious and clean with menus that are varied and include a fresh salad bar. I was really impressed with the dementia facility because of the no barrier bathrooms/no mirrors, which were designed with guidance from a gerontologist. This portion was recently opened so they have plenty of availability. They have a small kitchen for the prepared meals, but residents are allowed to help with clean-up. Pets are allowed as long as the resident can care for them. They have an indoor pool and whirlpool housed with a physical fitness center that is staffed; they allow area seniors to use the facility. The residents in the assisted living area were clean and there weren't any odors (although I was informed that early morning is when you'll detect any odors at any facility). I was given a tour by the facility administer who was very nice and knew the names of the residents and their families. The only negative was the assistant administrator who wanted me to make an appointment for a tour in a slightly unfriendly demeanor "

"This is a for-profit assisted living and skilled nursing facility that is one of 8 facilities owned and operated by this corporation. It is located in an older building (the outside is a little dated), but the inside is clean and appears to have been refurbished at some point. They proudly display their 5 Star Rating from Medicare in their lobby. All of the facilities owned by this corporation that I've visited are clean and appear to be well managed. Some residents were sitting in wheelchairs in the hallways near the nurse's station. The menus posted were typical fare and varied. The temperature was comfortable and I didn't detect any odors. The only negative was that I had to search for someone to give me a tour. "

"I’m more pleased now that dad is at Golden Livingcenter. He’s been there for about two months. I don't have any problems with them. I’m happy with all of the nursing care that they give, and the quality of the nurse’s aides. They call me whenever there’s a problem. My dad is on a pureed diet, and the dietary department has been accomodating. "
