"We visited California Armenian Home for my mother. It looked very nice. It seemed like they have good management. Clients who live there seemed satisfied and contented. It seemed like they're receiving good service. I think it would have been a nice place to place my mother, but she elected to stay at home. Otherwise it would have been a good selection the way the facility is operated. The room was very clean. The room where they have the eating facilities looked very clean and attractive. The facility is somewhat dated; it is not a new facility. It is not really pristine in terms of the latest and greatest in room arrangements and the facilities that folk would be living in, but otherwise, the management was good, and it was clean. "

"Twilight Haven was nice and clean, and the people were nice, but it was easy for him to get out of the facility and go to the streets; that was a concern for me. However, I was impressed with the place. They had a room where people could play cards and dominoes. The administrator was very nice. "

"I thought Pacific Gardens was fabulous. My father loved all the girls. They were really good. He keeps telling us that if he doesn't get his way, he'll go back there and check himself in. Everybody, from the receptionist down to the bus people, knows you by name. I would recommend this facility to anybody. "

"The staff at Sierra Vista are exceptional. They took very good care of my aunt as well as her husband. The staff works as a team, and they all work well together. If I ever have a concern or something, it is always addressed promptly. I get phone calls as to his care. The facility is always clean. There is constantly someone cleaning the room. I have nothing but praises for this facility. I could not have found a better place for them. "

"My father ended up at Orchard Post Acute. The people were very caring. They took good care of the patients that were there. It's a skilled facility. It's not someplace you could stay at, but it was a good one. They really tried very hard with my dad. He came in with a lot of issues. Anything that happened to him, anything that needed attention, the nurse called immediately. Getting through to any of the directors and others in charge sometimes would take two or three calls, which I kind of understand because they got other things to do other than just spend time with the patient's family. He had physical therapy and that was about it. You get your money's worth."

"Talk about activity, they were having their Xmas gift exchange with many families in attendance. Every staff member I encountered were friendly and smiling; perhaps because of the party. Some of the patient rooms have been remodeled with more to be done; no odors. I was told by my guide that they focus on providing a home-like setting. The weekly menus are posted on one side of the kitchen and the daily menu on the other side to avoid confusion for the residents; they can pick their meals. They will be revamping their courtyard in the near future which is currently used by residents or reserved for private family gatherings. The local SPCA brings dogs in twice a week for visits; I would really appreciate this for my loved one. This is a super nice facility. "

"I visited Palm Village in Reedly. The rooms were very nice and very clean. They're great for a permanent situation but that's not what I need. I just need somebody to stay with my mom when I needed to be gone. "

"I was moved here from St. Jude's for recovery, treatment and physical therapy. I'll keep this as short as I can. Upon entering, a distinct and unpleasant odor hit me, immediately giving me bad vibes. On a positive note, you get used to it. The nurses were caring and friendly with me, also a positive. One other positive were the therapists; good crew when I was there a handful of years back. They were friendly and helpful. Now for the food. Absolutely TERRIBLE. I felt like it couldn't get more unpalatable. I've never been to prison, but I can't imagine it being worse. It was so bad, I had family bring real food in from the outside. And I can eat nearly anything. This was simply atrocious. As others have mentioned, there were police nearly always in the hallways, standing guard outside a random room. At least we knew where the felons were residing. Heard gunshots one night, uncomfortably close to the facility. So to sum up, the staff were friendly and helpful, not being timely only a handful of times over the course of nearly three months. The food though was terrible, the biggest complaint I had. I can only hope things have improved since. The day I was released to the comfort of my home was a godsend. It's just not the most comfortable and happy place to be while recovering. Thankfully, I'm fairly good at adjusting to not the best situations. "

"This is an older 89 bed skilled nursing facility that could use a small facelift; they've started replacing some of the flooring. The grounds are nice; they have a nice gated patio. They also have an uncovered patio that is not secure and could be a problem if a patient roamed because of the busy street. The rooms are semi-private with 2 to 4 per room, clean, and some have sliding patio doors for viewing outdoors. Patients needing feeding assistance were gathered in the dining room for lunch. I didn't detect any obnoxious odors. The meal menu was typical hospital food; I didn't see any fresh items. The patients that I saw were clean and I didn't hear anyone asking for help. "

"My mom was in Sierra View Homes Retirement Community, in their assisted living about a year and a half ago. They have three levels of care, they've got independent apartments, assisted living, and skilled nursing. And then they have a distinct memory care inpatient unit as well. My overall experience is clouded by my anguish at putting my mother there. It was a very, very dark time. But on the very first day that I admitted her there, as soon as I left, she went into the shower in her room and slipped and fell and broke her wrist. And I was really upset because she was by herself, but this stuff happens. As soon as mom went in there, two and a half weeks later, COVID came. And so they couldn't eat in the dining room, and they couldn't do activities, and they were stuck in their rooms. She was stuck in her room, and then they would come and do activities in her room. They did the best they could with the COVID restrictions. Everybody was kind of learning on their feet. They had activities, that's why we wanted her to go there. She was going to go on bus tours and trips, and none of that happened. They have a library, they have church services, and they have a very beautiful dining room that people could eat in pre-COVID."

"This is a for-profit assisted living and skilled nursing facility that is one of 8 facilities owned and operated by this corporation. It is located in an older building (the outside is a little dated), but the inside is clean and appears to have been refurbished at some point. They proudly display their 5 Star Rating from Medicare in their lobby. All of the facilities owned by this corporation that I've visited are clean and appear to be well managed. Some residents were sitting in wheelchairs in the hallways near the nurse's station. The menus posted were typical fare and varied. The temperature was comfortable and I didn't detect any odors. The only negative was that I had to search for someone to give me a tour. "

"My friend at Golden Livingcenter-Clovis was happy there. She was in a room with 6-8 beds, so there were a lot of people. The place was pretty clean. They worked really hard to keep the place clean, but sometimes there were accidents. It was an old building, but she got good care. The best thing I liked was the food. "
