Nursing Home Communities in Selma, CA

"When I visited the facility the first thing I notice is the staff. They are really friendly. The facility is really clean and organized. The people that live there seem so happy. The inside is so nice and comfy. At Palm Village they have so many amenities to offer their residents. For example they have a fitness center for the residents use so they may stay fit. They have the option of using the wii also . They have a 50 style diner for the residents to eat at. They have laundry and food centers and a gaming area that includes a pool table so if the residents get word they may play. The best thing I thought is them having is the Chapel and Beauty Salon. The housing is great they offer diffent styles for any need whether it be assisted living, nursing or normal. They go from studio to 3 bedrooms. I have nothing bad to stay about this facility. "

"This is a for-profit assisted living and skilled nursing facility that is one of 8 facilities owned and operated by this corporation. It is located in an older building (the outside is a little dated), but the inside is clean and appears to have been refurbished at some point. They proudly display their 5 Star Rating from Medicare in their lobby. All of the facilities owned by this corporation that I've visited are clean and appear to be well managed. Some residents were sitting in wheelchairs in the hallways near the nurse's station. The menus posted were typical fare and varied. The temperature was comfortable and I didn't detect any odors. The only negative was that I had to search for someone to give me a tour. "

"My mom was in Sierra View Homes Retirement Community, in their assisted living about a year and a half ago. They have three levels of care, they've got independent apartments, assisted living, and skilled nursing. And then they have a distinct memory care inpatient unit as well. My overall experience is clouded by my anguish at putting my mother there. It was a very, very dark time. But on the very first day that I admitted her there, as soon as I left, she went into the shower in her room and slipped and fell and broke her wrist. And I was really upset because she was by herself, but this stuff happens. As soon as mom went in there, two and a half weeks later, COVID came. And so they couldn't eat in the dining room, and they couldn't do activities, and they were stuck in their rooms. She was stuck in her room, and then they would come and do activities in her room. They did the best they could with the COVID restrictions. Everybody was kind of learning on their feet. They had activities, that's why we wanted her to go there. She was going to go on bus tours and trips, and none of that happened. They have a library, they have church services, and they have a very beautiful dining room that people could eat in pre-COVID."

"Sunnyside was fine and very clean. It has everything that I think my dad will need, and the staff was friendly. They gave me a tour and were very helpful. They were having Halloween party during my visit. They do things during the day and take them places. They had a good menu, but provided other food items in case the resident doesn't want what’s on the menu. The food smells good. "

"Overall it was a nice looking facility very expensive looking though I'm not sure what there costs are exactly. I think residents have a choice of apartments or the hospital bed area. There were lots of activities for seniors to participate in and the community was fairly small which is nice. The landscaping was great everything was clean. The nurses we're all very nice and the place doesn't have that sterile feel that a lot of assisted living place have; it seemed home like. A lot of the staff spoke Armenian also which is great for the residents. Definitely not the place to retire unless you or your spouse are part Armenian and are used to the culture. The meals seemed to be a mix of regular American and more ethnic flavors. Convient freeway access to by the 180 though it is a bit of a drive out to the clovis area from most of Fresno. "

"We didn't see the rooms because the very generous man in charge let us know in a kind way, that the Vineyards is beyond our price range. It looked beautiful and expansive. The man was generous with his time and knowledge. We so appreciated his consideration."

"My dad is in Hacienda Rehabilitation Center. He's a veteran. My mom has dementia and is still in her home. They won't take my mom because she's too ill to take care of herself. She's home by herself and she can't tell if it's day or night. Dad needs nursing care and we're looking for a place to put them both together. Hacienda is a good place. They were all nice to me and they have good staff. The food is pretty good. I just can't put my mom in there at the same time. I would recommend this place to others. "

"I had several friends that had grandparents and parents at Twilight Haven, so I found them through word of mouth. I like the facility's affordability. Their staff was excellent too. "

"I thought Pacific Gardens was fabulous. My father loved all the girls. They were really good. He keeps telling us that if he doesn't get his way, he'll go back there and check himself in. Everybody, from the receptionist down to the bus people, knows you by name. I would recommend this facility to anybody. "

"The staff at Sierra Vista are exceptional. They took very good care of my aunt as well as her husband. The staff works as a team, and they all work well together. If I ever have a concern or something, it is always addressed promptly. I get phone calls as to his care. The facility is always clean. There is constantly someone cleaning the room. I have nothing but praises for this facility. I could not have found a better place for them. "

"My father ended up at Orchard Post Acute. The people were very caring. They took good care of the patients that were there. It's a skilled facility. It's not someplace you could stay at, but it was a good one. They really tried very hard with my dad. He came in with a lot of issues. Anything that happened to him, anything that needed attention, the nurse called immediately. Getting through to any of the directors and others in charge sometimes would take two or three calls, which I kind of understand because they got other things to do other than just spend time with the patient's family. He had physical therapy and that was about it. You get your money's worth."

"My father was a patient in this facility. The care he received both with his rehabilitation and during his final weeks was amazing. The staff is so caring. I thank God everyday for putting us in this facility. He loved everyone that he worked with during his rehabilitation and couldn't wait to go in the gym and work out."

"I think or hope that's it's the best facility we toured. The faculty seem to be so nice and enjoy taking care of the patients. When I visit, which is daily and sometimes twice a day. My mother is always clean and is being taken care of properly. The facility is always clean and smells fresher than some if the other facilities we visited. The office staff is always helpful with insurance billing and anything extra my mother wants, they make sure to call and let me know what she wants or needs. "
