This facility was outstanding in the care and kindness my Aunt received! Not going to lie, she was a difficult patient, but all the staff were patient, kind, professional and OUTSTANDING! I'm truly grateful for all the care, therapy and hygiene needs she received while residing there. I was honestly impressed with all staff from the excellent receptionist at the front desk, the business staff and the medical staff!! Great job people! I appreciated each one of you!

Today is May 22, 2024. I just came from visiting my dad. It was in the afternoon evening and they brought his dinner. I had no idea it was like this. My dad is on no special diet so what they brought him is what they’re serving everybody and I have to tell you it was slop. It looked like porridge with ketchup on it. It was disgusting and I’d like to have the staff eat what they feed them and see what they think! My dad has been complaining about the food, but I didn’t realize how bad it really was. It is bad. They need to fire the cook Or buy some food for the residence! They ought to be ashamed to serve it, unbelievable!! And my dad was so hungry. It was sad. Next time I go to see him. I’m gonna bring him food.

My mother is a long term patient there for about 1 year...I do feel most ppl whom work there are wonderful but there are a few nurses whom argue with the patient ( my mom is very coherent and walks and talks understands fully has copd4 and needs care that I'm not able to do,I am sick also eles she would be home right?.. Her social worker reminds her of that too...well if your not happy here go home..this makes her cry ,me also...sad... they move here from room to room almost weekly..they say covid..well shouldn't they have some floors for long care and covid free for these beautiful ppl...The nurses take forever to answer the light for them,I mean a long time..has missed moms medicine up a few times..lol my mom writes all that down daily, she likes to know what she is taking..well had a hard time with her pain meds when needed,I'm sure her hospice nurse straighten this out...last women they had to share the room with..always pee and pops everyday on the floor...ewwe...turned the light on,took awhile for some to clean this awful mess..finally after about a month they moved that poor woman...bottom line...answer the patients when light goes on,talk to them with compassion and remember you have a mother...She's heading towards the end of her life, this is so hard on her...I love my mom so much and would love to see ok and comfortable...She's my hero!!!!!

My dad is in Oakwood Gardens Care Center for rehab, and I think they're great. He gets OT, PT, and speech 5 days a week. He has a nutritionist there, and they have a doctor on staff that's very accessible if you need to ask him questions. The staff has been absolutely wonderful. Every time I go, he's clean, dressed, got shoes on, his hair is done, and he's been shaved. Because of COVID I'm not allowed to go inside the building. From what I've seen in the buildings, it's clean and everything seems to be put away. They have a patio area that you can go and visit. All the patients that I've seen come out to the patio seem the same. They're clean and seemed happy. All the visitors that I've seen are smiling and nobody seems to be complaining. The staff are so helpful, so nice, and so understanding; they've been wonderful. The grounds are clean. It's an older style building, but it's well-maintained and painted. The parking lot is also well-maintained. When I called the other day, the activities director was saying that they just finished bingo and who won what. I also know that they do they do a different types of activities. One day it was something with super heroes, and another day it was Disney characters. They have a movie night. They play a lot of cards, puzzles, and a lot of group type therapies that aren't like a physical or an occupational therapy. They also call you. Like yesterday after speech, the speech therapist called me. She doesn't call me every day, but they give you an update once a week. They'll call you outside of that one update. If something has either gotten better or something's changed, then that individual person will call you. On Wednesdays, they have this lady named Stephanie call you with an update of how the week went. If something changes during the week, then the person that it changed for will call and give you an update.

I broke my right femur in October and after surgery, Denise (of Oakwood Gardens) came to Community Regional Medical Center. She came in and visited with me and got my VA insurance approved and into a semi-private room in 2 days! With just a few things-- like going from oral pills to insulin

Administration staff are very professional and friendly but there seems to be a huge discontent between medical staff and asminastration. My father missed an imporant doctors appointment on Friday 8/7 becasue medical staff where unaware. I had his LVN reschedule his doctors appointment for monday 8/10 and set up trasportation to and from his appointment. I even double checked with the medical staff on Saturday to confirm his appointment and trasportation, they stated everything was set up and he would meet me at his appointment. Unfortunately I had to call the facility to check if he was on his way and some how no one knew anything about his appointment. He was over 2 hours late to his appointment. This situation has our family rethinking this facility for his medical needs. It's trully disapointing and disheartening that my father is being treated this way.

My mother is in this facility, being moved from another facility that carelessly let her fall on her face after 9 pm at night saying she tripped on her shoe strings. What was she doing up out of bed after 9 pm with her shoes on anyway? Anyway, that is another story. This facility seems to be a well organized facility. We had an incident where they had moved my mom from one room to another without explanation and she was just lost be cause she has Dementia. I was not happy with thier reasoning and asked them not to move her again. I live out of state and I have to control her situation from a distance even though she does have a few family members in town. Since she has been in this facility since July 2013, she has had a stroke. Seems like they are taking care of her needs but I felt a lot better when a hospice nurse was appointed. The resident doctor has recommended that she does not need the Hospice Nurse even though it was against our wishes. Now they have moved her again to an 8 bed ward, which I did a surprise visit on her and to say the least, I am not a happy camper, since we are private pay. Paying $6800. a month and they put her in a 8 bed ward...time to move here.

This is one of four facilities owned by the same corporation and all are well maintained. This one is a 100 bed skilled nursing home for short or long term care, with a year long waiting list. It was very clean and well maintained for an older facility with very little odor (slight in one hallway) considering it's a skilled nursing facility. The dining room is big and the kitchen was clean. Residents are in either two or three to a room with privacy curtains. What I really liked is that upon entering the front door, a sign warns you not to let the dog out. They have a resident dog that roams freely about and seems to know who he should stay away from (he spends most of his time in the office sleeping). I think this humanizes a difficult time for the residents There was a mix of residents in wheelchairs, but most were napping. The physical therapy room was busy and they had a nice mix of physical equipment for exercising.
