My uncle moved to Independence Village of Olde Raleigh, and it's conducive to what he needs. It's a little suite area with a nice big bathroom, all the amenities, a bed, and a little kitchen. They feed him three meals downstairs. The staff was very kind, especially the younger ones when we went in at night. They're friendly up front, and they like him. The facility is very, very nice. The dining area, where they have a little fireplace, is clean. My uncle pays a little extra to have them clean his room, but he has to do his laundry. My uncle said the food was bland. He goes down often because the food is cold, so they put it in a little oven to keep it warm. He doesn't like the activities. They said they would take him on a little excursion and take him to the store or do some activities now and then, but he hasn't been told or asked to do anything.

I toured Independence Village Of Olde Raleigh. It had the same thing, but I liked the other ones better. The only thing was, it looked a little bit smaller than the rest of them, but the people were nice, and everything looked good. I just thought it was a little more confined and just wasn't as convenient. I talked to one lady, who was very nice and cooperative.

My parents have been living at IVR for almost two years! The apartment is huge! The building is bright and updated. I like the vintage feel it's also kept. The staff is helpful and kind, and they communicate well with the families. The PT/OT staff are great! The aide service Colin’s team provides is amazing and Colin and Mag’s are great at communicating with the family. Food could be better, less salt and fried foods. Buts the location is fantastic! Its about the kindness and communication that's so important when choosing a home for a love one.

The lady who gave me a tour of Independence Village Of Olde Raleigh was very knowledgeable about the property. It was clean. It seemed like they were keeping the people in a lot of activities, and I thought that was great. The rooms were good sized. They were not too big, but they had a couple of options. I feel like it was enough for what's needed. They also showed me a couple of courtyards. They had a hair salon, and they had a physical therapy room or workout room. They showed me the game room and the church or multimedia room for movies.

The people at Independence Village of Olde Raleigh are very friendly. Everyone here, the staff and the residents, have been very nice. They have lots of activities. They have bingo four nights a week, bridge clubs, spades, and different card games like that. They also have arts and crafts and painting, and the food is delicious. The studios are very nice. It's adequate and has nice appliances, a refrigerator, a little stove top in the kitchenette, and a large walk-in closet. They have a little game room, a little cinema with a large screen TV, chairs, and a popcorn maker so they can watch movies. They have a little library where you can get books to read and a large, nice dining area. They have a little garden in the center. You can see it from the windows inside the building and you can go out in it as well, but you don't see it from the road. It is a clean building.

My aunt has moved into Independence Village of Olde Raleigh. She got a studio apartment, which is very nice. It does not have an oven, but it has a refrigerator and stovetop, and she has the microwave that she took. It's not furnished, which is great, that way they take their own furniture. Lots of people have just retired there. They have studios, 1 bedroom, and 2 bedrooms. They have a washer and dryer that the residents can use, and there's a maid service once a week that changes and washes the sheets for the residents. They serve three meals a day down in the cafeteria. It's very nice, and they have activities during the week, and different things. I had a really good meal there, but I understand from the residents, some of the food they don't like at all, and some they do. The staff were very nice. They were playing a movie when I was there, in their theater room. They also have some church services and Bible study groups. There's a piano in the dining room, and sometimes someone comes in to play the piano and sing. They play cards, there are bridge clubs in there, and they have activities where they make things. It takes up almost all of her money, but I think it's well worth it. A person would need to pay for their own telephone or TV services.

Independence Village of Olde Raleigh seemed to be a very nice facility. The staff during the tour was very knowledgeable and very friendly. They offered food but we declined. They've got a very nice dining area. We got there at lunch, so that's pretty much all the activity we saw. They have reading, theater, several groups that play games, and a gardening group. It seems to be very well rounded in terms of social activities. The rooms were very nice. The layout was nice, very clean, thought out, and well-appointed.
