I am/was a resident of this facility

These people are the absolute worst! The nurses yell at you. They feed you bologna sandwiches. No JOKE! They hold your meds....I could go on about all the horrible things this place does to people. DO NOT go here!

I am/was a resident of this facility

This place is wonderful and I am very happy here. We a !of of activities things like painting and getting together and getting our nails done. Staff here is wonderful they love their residences and give them 100% of their time even if it's just simply coming by the room I'm sitting with them and talking to them. Once a month we get to go to Walmart and other outings during the month we have even been to the Panthers training camp which was fun... I give this place 5 stars

My husband came home and stated that he was hit on by several of the sides. One actually passed him a note requesting his number, and what she would like to do to him. Another one said that he should take hot 30 something with him when he moves. I did not appreciate this and I find it highly unprofessional, and offensive.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My mother was in here several years until recently passing. She was very good care and was attended to as her needs increased. We were very happy with Lakewood Care and would recommend it to all.

I visited this facility

I didn't particularly care for Lakewood. Their staff wasn't enough for me. Their rooms were not like a community setting; they were more like a dormitory. The facility was adequate, but I wasn't very interested with them. I saw a lot of people just sitting around in wheelchairs or laying in bed; I didn't see any activities. I may have been there at the wrong time, but I didn't see anything. I wasn't impressed with them, but they were affordable, and it's close here to my house.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My sister recently moved into Lakewood. She is an early stage dementia resident with incontinent issues. The type of residents vary drastically within the facility and I was impressed they way Lakewood meets everyone's specific needs. They have a group that comes in every Monday morning and Thursday morning that my sister constantly talks about. They provide her with snacks, drinks and toiletries whenever she needs them. I recently went to visit her during their Valentines Day celebration and they had a DJ whom the residents seemed to love and all kind of snacks and goodies for the residents to enjoy. She recently mentioned how several new ladies had moved in and some local church was putting new televisions in all the rooms. All the staff are very helpful and caring. Lakewood is a great facility if you are looking for something for your loved one. They focus on patient care and entertainment- my sister really enjoys going out of the facility each week to Walmart with staff and other residents. They are also very helpful when it comes to working with families that have some financial issues.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My grandmother has been at the facility for several weeks now. We havent regretted placing her into the facility. The staff are very friendly and know the residents on a personal level. They all seem to love one another and really enjoy going on activities and playing bingo in the activity room. I have been in the facility before when a lady brought her therapy dog in with puppies. The residents really seem to love and enjoy the company of the dog and her new litter. My grandmother always says that church groups come in all the time and bring her things. When I have visited during meal times the food always looks good and warm. This is a family owned operation and the staff seem to care for my grandmother like they would their own and love her the same. With my new job and kids I'm unavaiable to visit as often as I'd like but I know that she is taking care of and every time I talk to her on the phone she seems very happy.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My mother-in-law was just moved to this facility and we went to visit her today for the first time. Upon walking in we were immediately hit with the odor of urine. The staff was playing around with a puppy at the desk but did manage to give us her room #. She was not in her room and we came back to the desk and no one seemed to know where she was. She was finally located in the "community room" where patients were warehoused with a blaring TV. I was struck by the nastiness of the room. The paint was peeling, ceiling crumbling, filthy pool table. Windows were filthy and the furniture had cobwebs. In two areas on the floor near where she was sitting in a wheelchair were two puddles of urine. I went to the director of nursing who seemed indifferent to my concerns even asking me if the puddles might be coffee. I explained to her that having been a nurse for 33 years, I know what a puddle of urine looks like. They just had an assessment by the state and passed. I don't know how they could of passed. I am hoping that my brother-in-law will get her moved. I wouldn't board my dog in this place.

I feel there is to much going on there. The staff cursing and the residents are not cared for by the smell anyway. It has a 2 star showing but I dont know or think that is normal.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

I visit here about every week, and every time we come they are always very friendly. The food they eat looks very nutritious and tasty. On every holiday they celebrate somehow to get all the patients excited and in a good mood, which I personally think is a very nice touch. Like for Christmas, people came and gave the patients what they needed, it was a big blessing. They have a visiting area that has a television, some games, and vending machines. They seem to match people up very well because my great-grandmother and her roommate are very good friends. Whenever we go, she seems to be very happy and all the nurses love her. They know about everything that the patient has done. When something happens to someone they let you know quickly. They take excellent care of the people there. No one in our family regrets putting her there because she loves it there. I would recommend to another person.
