They took great care of my father. I cannot say enough about the caring nature of the staff. Three meals, all the personal care you need, and transportation to/from medical appointments are included, unlike many other places. As others have noted, the place is not fancy, but a caring staff is far, far more important.

They provide very small rooms at West 74th Street Home and there's not even a closet. It's extra if you want your own private shower. It looked like an old hotel where the bathrooms were on the outside. They had elevators, nurse on-staff 24 hours, three square meals a day, and they change the bed linen once a week. My queen-sized bed wouldn't even fit in the room. It's like being in a jail cell. You can't even put a TV set in there. The person during the tour was very nice and polite. It was clean for an old building, and they maintain it. They provide transportation to and from the hospital. However, the hospital is on the east side, this place is on the west side, and the traffic gets condensed from the west side to the east side. It's on the wrong part of town.

West 74th Street Home's rooms were pretty small. Everything was very basic with no frills. I saw some activities like yoga and bingo, and the staff was friendly and seemed OK. The place was pretty average and looked old but clean.

West 74th Street Home was very good. The rooms were very nice. The three meals a day, medication administration, having nursing people on-site, and the security were all great. It was convenient to get around because it was in Manhattan. If they have to go to doctor's visit or wherever, they make it easier for the patient, so that's very good. They help them with bathing when needed. The tour was a great experience. The staff seemed fine and very pleasant. There was a lot of staff. I liked that there's nursing staff available 24 hours, so that was good and important.

I was horrified by my visit here. There was furniture everywhere which could cause falls. It was dirty and in disrepair. A nightmare of a prospect for anyone in old age.

I really like West 74th Street Home because its location is wonderful.
