My husband is at BronxCare Special Care Center. They don't help with things like finding accommodations with the social work and trying to help him in anything like that. So, they are not good. Some of the staff members are good, though. I have tried the food and sometimes it isn't too salty for me. They play games like bingo and dominoes, and then they let them paint. So, recreation is good for everyone. I like that part.

I think the hospital staff have helped so many when they needed the care their families could not provide. The staff was very kind and treated people with the respect they needed while fighting to secure a normal life for all patience while they were there.They saved countless lives and helped men and women regain hope with proper social intervention with their peers and staff.They put life back in people when society was ready to let go it was a pleasure and blessing to be around such people who gave their all to give life back to so many god bless them and may they continue to do so for the community which they swore to serve.

My mother was a resident at this facility from 1997 to 2005. She was diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic, she was HIV positive, and she developed type 2 diabetes from one of the medications she was on. I really liked this facility. It was clean, provided excellent meals and snacks, and had a lot of daily and weekly activities for the residents to participate in. Their staff was very well trained and compassionate. Although the residence seemed more like a nursing home, the residents that had their full mental capacities were allowed to come and go as they pleased. Residents who didn't, were allowed to go to be with family and friends for days at a time, and this was something I did with my mother quite often. The visits had to be preplanned of course, and all of her medications were provided and thoroughly explained in order for me to assist her. I really believe that this facility cared for it's residents very much and was very vital to the community. I enjoyed the time my mother spent at this facility, they helped to foster her independence while providing her with all of her medical needs.
