My mom moved into The Village at Northrise. It's independent living and they're able to access a higher level of care as they need. The rooms seemed very flexible and reasonable. The people that were walking around when we were viewing the facility were very friendly. They all had smiles on their faces and they seemed to be active. It was very cozy but spacious, very clean, there was no odor, and it was fresh smelling. The decoration was very nice, they were seasonal for fall.

I toured The Village at Northrise. They had two bedrooms and one and a half-bath apartment on the ground floor. There's a miniature refrigerator and a miniature stove. The person who gave the tour was knowledgeable. Whenever I asked a question, he was able to answer.

I went ahead and committed to The Village at Northrise. I was very pleased with the gentleman who gave us the tour, and I was pleased with the facilities that I saw. All the amenities that I wanted as I was researching for the past 30 days, were the same. And I was very pleased with what they were offering over there. I am an ordained minister and they offered me a room where I could have my Sunday services, and I was very pleased with that. I was looking for a 1-bedroom apartment, but I have decided to probably go with a studio apartment instead because as a single person, the square footage of that room was very appropriate and I felt very comfortable there. They had all the amenities that I was searching for. I had interaction with Becky, who was the activity coordinator, and she was very kind and helpful, and I was very impressed. And then I talked to some of the people that live there to find out how they liked living there, and they were very pleased. So, that's a good testimonial in itself. I was graciously welcomed, all my questions were answered, and everything was very professional.

My dad was in The Village at Northrise for five days and got severely dehydrated. I'm not sure what happened, but from there he went to the hospital and then from the hospital to the hospice. The living atmosphere and layout of the place was adequate. They were very conscious of the COVID restrictions, which was good on one side, but if you're not double-vaccinated, you cannot visit your parents. There wasn't anything that we liked about the place. I don't think they took care of him. He got dehydrated so that means they weren't giving him fluids. I would say that the staff didn't do their job. He was in rehab and was doing very well, he's moving and ready to take the next step to be living closer to his home before he went there. The front entrance was not very clean. The room that we toured for the assisted living part hadn't been repainted and updated. The stove was very, very old and then the place he ended up going to was a shared room. It was clean, but there wasn't much there. It was shared with another guy so there wasn't much to that room. It was extremely expensive and we got nothing for it.

My wife and I went over to The Village at Northrise in Las Cruces and toured through assisted living. My mom could have a little private apartment to herself there. They also have a couple of nurses who can check on her twice or thrice a day, let her take her medication, make sure she's doing alright, or do whatever she needs. It was very nice. They have a beauty salon for women. They come in there twice a week. They have a recreational area for the senior citizens to get together and play cards, games, or whatever. They have a very nice dining area for people to go and eat. They could sit and have large tables or small tables. It's just a very nice facility all around. It was better than some of the others that we looked at.

I toured The Village at Northrise. The first thing I noticed was that it appeared to be clean. The people were friendly. I walked in unannounced, and they were willing to show me the accommodations that they had available. They didn't have a one-bedroom available, so I looked at a two-bedroom. It did need to have some maintenance done, but the staff said that before anyone moves in, it will be painted, cleaned, and all that. They didn't appear to be trying to hide anything. They took me right up, they showed me the room, they told me what was right and what was wrong, and they said they would fix the things that were wrong, like the paint and a few other maintenance issues. I went into the dining room. It wasn't time for a meal, so I just had the opportunity to look. They were in the process of cleaning it, but it appeared to be adequate. They have a beauty shop on site, and they have a video room. I did not have an opportunity to speak with any of the residents, but there were four ladies sitting and playing some kind of a domino game; they seemed to be enjoying that and content to be there. The atmosphere was pleasant. So they have friendly people and a pleasant atmosphere, and overall it appeared to be clean. They were forthcoming about things that might need to be repaired in the apartment I toured. The one thing that was of concern to me -- even with it being independent living -- was the fact that all of the rooms are on the second floor. There are no resident rooms on the main floor, so you have to get on an elevator and go up to the second floor where all of the rooms are. While it's independent living, that seems a little odd to me.

My mother-in-law was at The Village at Northrise for five years. It was always clean and very welcoming when you entered. The ladies at the front desk were always so nice, too. If I needed a wheelchair or some help bringing my mother-in-law out, they were always right there. They're just all so friendly. When she was supposed to be at the end of her life, somebody was always checking in on her. That was amazing. She met a lot of friends, and she even got to use the exercise equipment in the exercise room when she was in really good health. She wasn't a craft person, but she loved to sing, play the piano, and play the guitar. She loved movie nights, too. She would get in on the bus when they had a reservation to go somewhere or when they all went to the church. They had everything she needed. Sometimes it was hard to reach her because she was enjoying herself so much. I had lunch with her in the dining room sometimes, and then when she could no longer go to the dining room, they would call up, check on her, and bring her food. My mother-in-law loved to cook. She would give suggestions on how they could make the food a little bit tastier, because some days she would say the food was a "five" and that it was amazing, and other days, she would say it was a "three." The facility itself was kept up. When she would call that something wasn't working, they were there immediately. When I go there, there are always some activities going on.

I like The Village at Northrise's continuity of services. They have independent, assisted, and nursing care facilities. The people are very nice, the food seems very good, and they offer lots of different activities. My mother has a one-bedroom apartment with a small kitchenette. The staff is very nice, and I'm very pleased with the value for the money.

I had an issue with an attendant not taking my mom to the restroom but it was addressed quickly by Ryane and others. They were responsive and attentive after the issue was brought up. Ryane took great care of my mom.

Right now, my mother is at The Village at Northrise. It is a big community. The grounds are very nice. They're gated, so the residents are safe and they can walk around. They have a life alert pendant that they make all the residents wear in case they fall down or they need immediate care, so it is pretty attentive. My mother's room is nice and secure. It also has a private small balcony-type yard with a nice view of the mountain. My mother likes the food and is happy with the activities. They have bingo, manicures, and live music. However, the residents keep to themselves, and there isn't much socializing. I wish I had known that sooner. So if you're looking for companionship, this might not be the right place.

The Village at Northrise - Morningside was too big and too confusing for my dad. I had trouble finding my way around because of the way it was laid out. The rooms were nice, adequate, light, and welcoming. The place was well kept, and they have parts that were under construction. The dining room seemed a little dated in terms of decor. They had rooms on the ground floor with a little patio, but they were not enclosed, with little fences on 3 sides, so people could go in and out easily.

The Village at Northrise – Morningside was very nice. I liked the place. The staff seemed really nice. They took us around and showed us different activities and a one-bedroom with a living room, bathroom, small kitchen, and bathroom. They had a dining room and meals included, exercise and quilting classes, an outdoor swimming pool, and all kinds of activities going on every day. I would recommend it. It had three levels of care: independent, assisted, and nursing home.

My mother has been in The Village at Northrise - Morningside for about five weeks now in a one-bedroom apartment. They had a couple of different rooms available, so we were able to choose a room that we felt was close enough to the elevator and would be easier for her to reach. It’s a large compound wherein they have independent, rehab, and a nursing home. The place is well kept, and we felt that it would be best for her. They bring in local musicians and people to play or sing as entertainment. They also have bingo and movies. My mother is not really happy with the food and says it's OK.

My husband was at The Village at Northrise. It was OK. However, they didn't have any private rooms there. The situation of who they are put in the room with can be very distracting, and that's what I hate about it.

The food is not good at all. The nurses seem to do a good job and are very caring, but the food quite often is just horrible. I've talked to the local management on three occasions and their response is shallow with no follow up. I can't come close to recommending this facility today. It used to be good but when Genesis bought it the food and their forced recipes were enforced and really the management won't even eat it.

I don't really feel the Village at Northrise has much concern for the belongings of the residents. My mother-in-law lost quite a few clothes and diamond rings. There were some people that seemed to care. I talked to one staff member, and she said I couldn't go back to where the laundry was, and there was another one in the same position in a different shift, and she walked me back there and helped me find about 10 pieces of clothes. She still was missing a lot of clothes when we did leave, and I never got them. The cleanliness was OK. She was not in the Alzheimer's side, although she has Alzheimer's. The permanent patients that were there for Alzheimer's, you walked in there and it did stink, while on the temporary side where she was, it didn't stink. The food was not good. I had planned that my sister-in-law and I would go eat lunch with her every day there, but the food was not anything my sister-in-law could eat. We would go eat at the senior center before we would go visit her. I loved working with the physical therapists, and that’s what she was there for. They were really good, very helpful. They were so informative. If she fell again, I’d struggle to decide whether she would be there or not because I did like the physical therapists.

This is a very spacious friendly assisted living center. While it does cost a good sum, it seem worth it to family members who can afford it and want peace of mind for their loved ones.
