My mom is at Maple Glen Center. She needs full-time 24-hour care. It doesn't have a great appearance, but the care is excellent, and that's what I was looking for. The room is a regular semi-private room. The staff is very caring. All the nurses know her. They also know me when I come in and say hello. They give me some information about how she was doing. She has worked with a physical therapist and with a speech pathologist. She has had very good care. I'm very happy about the care that she is receiving there. My mom is not able to do a lot of activities. She has Alzheimer's, and she doesn't pay attention to things, so that is not a huge part of her day. But they do keep her involved like they move her wheelchair from place to place, and she is out in the halls, and she is talking to people. The activities director comes in and visits her and will sit with her and have her color and things like that. They are very cognizant of when my mom eats and when she doesn't eat. In the beginning, she was losing weight and they were very concerned about that, so they did all sorts of things to try to get her to eat and get her more involved. Now, she seems to have a very good appetite, so she eats all the food that they give her. They're not very fancy looking, but they are very caring of her, and they do a very good job with her. The place is very clean. Everything is always clean. Every day they do the floor, her bed is always clean, and she is always clean. It was very expensive. But then, I visited some places that were even more expensive, and I don't know that they would provide that much more than what Maple Glen is providing. However, it is worth it because of the care that they're giving her, which I couldn't give her at home.

Do not send anyone you love here. While the auxiliary staff (PT,speech) were wonderful, the nursing staff is equally as disastrous. My cousin rang the bell from 11PM till 7AM. NO ONE CAME. He was at the end of the hallway and could have fallen out of bed or worse and no one checked. The staff was slow to respond to any request often seeming annnoyed and was often gruff. We took him out asap.

Mom was at Maple Glen Center for rehab. They had a friendly and accommodating staff. As far as the atmosphere, the exterior wasn't that attractive, but the inside was better. The administrative and all that were also friendly and caring. The food was good. Not gourmet food, but it was good for them.

I have nothing but positive things to say about this facility. My mother was here after a fall and the nurses were fantastic. They were all very nice and always answered all of my questions. The rehab department was also top notch, mom was left walker better than before the fall. I would definitely recommend Maple glen to all of my friends and family.

if your thinking of putting your loved one in a nursing home look around-this is not the place.they have a staff that is rude and belligerent to the patients. They do well at caring when your social security gets in the bank.you could have excellent benefits, but they want more. look around there is much better but watch the name genenis which owns these pitfalls.they forget people are not all braindead and see there stints.Rooms are small and cramped.Staff mostly horrible.activites nill.this is worse then being in JAil! This first hand info.

My mother was there in sub-acute section. The stuff took great care of her. There is also somebody, who could speak Russian or spanish.Even housekeeping would stop by to speak to residents in their native language.Wound care team was outstanding-they kept me updated on all little changes and improvements regarding skin condition.Unit manager was on point and very very sweet. You can see, that people really care there...one of the doctors is there everyday ,so all the concerns csn be addressed. Physical therapy department goes above and beyond to help you recover.

Special thank you to Giselle, Diosellen, Teresa, Sheila, Jane and Olexander for outstanding care and attentiveness. Otherwise it is an average, understaffed nursing home. Old but clean building. Food is ok.

I visited my grandmother at Maple Glen Center and was taken aback by the rudeness of the staff with the patients. While the staff was very kind to my grandmother and me while I was there, I did not witness them treat other patients the same way. I saw several nurses/aides snap at patients when they asked a question and speak to them very rudely. I also saw some patients restrained improperly. I understand some of the patients may be difficult to work with and it can be tiring to work with individuals who are at various stages of mental regression, but that is no reason to speak to anyone with less than respect. Every patient deserves to be treated respectfully and with dignity. I worry about how my own grandmother is treated when family is not around based on what I witnessed happen with other patients.

The staff at Maple Glen was wonderful. My father is now in a subacute unit, but recently he was moved to a long term room -- which was horrible -- and we complained and thought for him to move out of there. There were four beds in a tiny room -- not very bright or clean. The people in his room were not compatible to him. They were all lesser quality of life than my dad. They put him into a subacute room until a better or more compatible room becomes available in the long term. The food is great, and the dining facility is very nice. Overall, the whole place could use a little revamping, but their food is fine. They play bingo, they have movie nights, manicuring, and if there’s a birthday, there’s a birthday party and a man that comes to play music with a guitar. The staff is very giving and caring. However, their rooms really need improvement.

There are a lot of things I like about Maple Glen Center. The people are very nice, and it is convenient for us. My aunt is at this facility. It looks very nice and very clean. The workers are very, very caring.

As with many assisted living facilities these days, Maple Glen could use more staff members. There have been times when we have waited 10-15 minutes for a scheduled physical therapy appointment. However, of all the staff I came into contact with, all of them were extremely personable and showed a genuine interest in the well being of the residents. I was happy to see that Maple Glen offered a calendar full of events to keep the seniors entertained, including crafts, movies, and even church services for those who wished to attend. There is also a beauty shop. The facility was a bit dreary looking for my taste (a more homey inviting is desired for such a long-term care facility in order to make residents feel at home), and often and a pungent odor. I visited the facility to see a client of mine for the mental health agency at which I am currently employed. My client's most resonating comment was that about the food. She said it was too plain, and tired of it easily.
