John promises that he can provide the same services as a full skilled facility. We 'bought into' the 'we can do everything' story .... we didn't have full access to visit her and when we did - despite her memory loss - it was very clear that she was sitting in soiled diapers - and was NOT receiving the care promised. They limit access to your loved one and don't be fooled - it is ASSISTED LIVING - meaning your loved one needs some ability to care for themselves. Don't be fooled by guarantees of something else - it is set up so you have limited visibility to what is really going on.

You won't find a more caring or loving staff anywhere. My mother lived there for several years and passed away very peacefully, surrounded by love and caring. Not only did the staff care for her, they cared for her family, too. They made sure we ate, provided a private place to shower, space to grieve and respected our (and our mother's) wishes. I never thought I'd describe a loved one's death as a positive experience, but it was. The building is clean (no urine smell), bright and has a lively atmosphere. Residents and the workers are always interacting. It felt to me like everyone went out of their way to pay attention to the people who live there.

The place I have found is here in New Hampshire, and it is awesome. The place is called Bellamy Fields Assisted Living. It is clean, and it is small. They are attentive, and the food is good. The rooms are nice. There isn't anything I don't like about it. They take good care of the clientele. The food is absolutely wonderful, and my mother loves it. As for activities, they have all kinds of things. They have a lot of music venues, and people come in. They have sing-alongs, bingo, and word games. They are always doing something different. I think they are doing everything right.

My father has been a resident for two years. We had him in three previous facilities and this is by far the best. All the staff I've met have been very competent and caring, including the director. Someone mentioned the food not being good, but I've had several lunches there and thought the food was excellent. It's very clean and has a great courtyard. My mother and siblings are all very pleased with where my father is.

The staff were great. I remember one woman in particular who my father was very fond of. He was dying of cancer at the time and it was very important to us that he be comfortable and happy. This is one of the best places that he could have been I think. The food was not very good, but that is to be expected. His room was great - it had a window and was quiet. He was also the only resident in his room.

I was able to visit Bellamy Fields on numerous trips to see a family friend. During one trip I was fortunate enough to be given a tour of the entire facility and I was very impressed. One thing that struck me most was how engaged the residents seemed to be. Everywhere I went there were staff and residents carrying on in a very upbeat manner and there was an air of life. Furthermore I was VERY impressed with the grounds as they were well landscaped and obviously well cared for. As for the staff, my friend indicated that her care was very good. The report with staff was good and she felt cared for. Our situation was not ideal during that time but I felt that Bellamy Fields was a very worthwhile and comfortable facility in a stressful time. I would encourage other families making decisions under similar stressful circumstances to tour Bellamy Fields and see what I saw.

The visit was very interesting. I have never been to an assissted living facility before, so this was the first. When I walked in, I got a very enclosed feeling as the lobby was separated from the general living/dining area. There were doors leading into the living/dining area which were locked and only a passed employee could enter or exit; there was not much free space to move around in. I honestly did not get much farther than that into the facility, but the lobby was very nice and kept; very presentable. The staff all seemed to be very caring as well.
