"I like that Wadleigh House is small, the location is good, and that I knew some of the people already. I had to comment on the food because they were advertising it, but apparently someone moved in because the food was much better than at the other place. They have music, exercise class, and games where they speak different languages. The staff is very knowledgeable. It is very clean. I am looking forward to going there. "

"I went to Brookdale Spruce Wood with a friend and I was visiting her parents. The rooms were beautiful. They have a split bedroom where you have your own separate bedroom and then you come out to a little tiny living room for the both of you. Then they have a bigger area with TVs, puzzles, and couches. It was very clean, they seemed to be well staffed, and the residents seemed happy. My friend's parents said the food was very good. I met some of the staff and they seemed very nice. My friend's parents said they were also very nice. They gave them showers and they were very happy with their safety. They were all pleasant and attentive to the residents. They have a salon for both men and women as well. I was considering my mom go there, but they didn't have a room available in the memory care."

"We went with it because I loved it. It felt like a house, and that was what I was looking for -- something that was homey. The staff was very up and very involved with the patients. There were a lot of things going on. They have this activity book, and they go through its pages. They do different things on different days from playing bingo, talking about actors, or Who Can Name This. They have a walking path outside that?s like a miniature track and in the middle of it are lawn chairs, and people can set a barbeque. It met what I wanted and more."

"Rosewood is an old manor, but I liked the rooms that they got to stay in, and it’s a nice place. The room available for my mom, however, was on the second floor, and the stairs were very steep. The dining room needs to be a little bit bigger. The people seemed to be crowded in, which we saw because they were eating when we were there. "

"The family is very happy with the care that my uncle is getting at The Edgewood. Right now, he’s in the Dementia/Alzheimer’s Unit. The staff is nice. He’s been in there for several months now. They do special things for military, and they have crafts, cards, and go on outings, but my uncle has Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, so he doesn’t use the activities area. "

"I thought Mark WentWorth was absolutely beautiful. It was one of the nicest properties I visited. The lobby space was very nicely designed. There are wonderful sitting areas all over the property and on each floor. So, if somebody left their room and they headed down the hall, they had a place to sit. They had a snack area 24 hours a day. So, if somebody wished to have a cup of tea or coffee, piece of fruit, or a cookie, they had a place where they could get a snack. I thought that was outstanding. There were 2 dining areas, and one of them even had a piano. I thought that was a cool idea. So, if somebody chose to come in and play music for the residents, they could do it at a meal time or not. They also had a little space. They told me that there was somebody who lives there who loves to give little tutorials. He talks about travels and loves to give his presentations to the residents. In my opinion, the only drawback was, it was in the middle of the neighborhood and it was surrounded by houses. There wasn't a lot of walk around space. "

"My wife is in the dementia wing so I can only comment on that aspect of the Cedar Center. The rooms are fine, two people to the room with privacy screening. The Staff is exceptionally patient and caring."

"Meetinghouse Village was setup in two areas, the north and south facility. The south is more independent where they have outdoor access and your vehicles are right outside your apartment. We didn't get to view anything because nothing was open. The other one was more of a dormitory type setting where you had to go inside the building and go to your apartment from there, but I didn't get a look at them. You have your own apartment, but you have the security of a community, and the staff was very nice. "

"The staff were great. I remember one woman in particular who my father was very fond of. He was dying of cancer at the time and it was very important to us that he be comfortable and happy. This is one of the best places that he could have been I think. The food was not very good, but that is to be expected. His room was great - it had a window and was quiet. He was also the only resident in his room. "

"Langdon Place of Dover's atmosphere is very nice. They have a lot of facilities and they offer good medical care. The staff is very nice. They have a pool, a jacuzzi, a gym, a library, and they have full nursing care with their own machines, so if anyone needs an EKG or something like that they don't have to send them off to the emergency room, which is a good thing."

"I would recommend Cornerstone at Hampton. Olivia, the Executive Director, is really on-point and very caring. She has a wealth of background in Geriatrics, dementia, and Alzheimer's. Patricia, who heads the Memory Care unit, is very passionate, very caring, and very hands-on. The staff is very caring, very passionate, and very knowledgeable. They do care and they are very professional. If somebody is in my position right now on the sea coast or in that relative area within New Hampshire, I would recommend that they look at Cornerstone at Hampton. The facility is beautiful and new. More importantly, it has a lot of natural light, which is incredibly important for people with Alzheimer's. Whoever the architect of the building designed it in such a way that memory care was at the forefront. They had a beauty salon and a barber shop on site. I saw the menu and I witnessed the food they were putting out, they had fresh fruits and it was absolutely a stunning menu. The other thing on the menu was that it was geared towards a Mediterranean diet. They also try a holistic approach to memory deficits and stuff. "

"This facility is wonderful. The care given to my mom has been great. The staff from the entire facility is truly amazing. They become a part of your family. I have never met more caring folks such as the staff at Langdon of Exeter. During this year of Covid 19,they worked diligently to keep everyone safe. Their hard work continued when some folks became positive. Their priority were the residents and keeping the families informed constantly. We are beyond grateful. Even during quarantine they did their best to keep the residents connected as well as they could. Thank you so much everyone at the Langdon Place. "

"We came upon Carriage Hill per a recommendation from a visiting nurse as my Mother's dementia was beginning to progress to a point she needed more care and support. The minute I entered the doors I knew it was going to be her new home. The facility is so clean and nicely decorated and feels so welcoming and happy. Sara was so accommodating and helpful and made a very stressful process so much easier. The staff is amazing and truly care about each resident as well as their families. My mom moved in shortly before all the Covid restrictions and even through that process they always kept us well informed and the welfare of residents top priority. My mom passed recently and the care and compassion she received right till the end will never be forgotten. I'll be forever grateful that we found Carriage Hill and would recommend it if you're looking for a place for a loved one. "

"Berwick Estates is a very old facility. At first, we were a little concernws because when my mother-in-law was admitted when it was very cold. But the facility has been more than adequate. The staff is just wonderful and very nice. My mother-in-law says the food is good. The residents seem quite happy there. They have lots of activities and the activity director is really wonderful. They play bingo, sing hymns, play all kinds of memory games, movies and popcorn. They're very busy and the place seem really pleasant. She is adjusting well and she likes it. Her family is happy that she's nearby. I find her room too small. It's a major concern to me, but it's adequate. "

"My father spent the last few weeks of his life in this facility when we could no longer provide the home care necessary for his hospice needs. As he was still functional, he was included in the more active senior group. He was lovingly treated by the very attentive staff; forged friendships that my mother and I still maintain, and ultimately, when he became too ill, his symptoms and comfort needs were completely and compassionately provided by the staff at Watson Fields. As a physician and Hospice and Palliative Care Specialist myself, I cannot imagine a facility better able to insure your loved ones' care. Also, though our family was not able to fully appreciate the services for more active seniors due to my father's illness, this facility far and away surpassed the local options in providing a full and engaging set of activities for seniors, multiple options for engaging with other residents, competent health care, excellent food (I was welcomed, free of charge to share several meals with my dad, and my mother dined every evening with him). At any rate, I cannot possibly share with you how much Watson Fields helped both my father and our entire family. I recommend the facility completely and without any reservations! "

"We are in the process of applying my ex-husband to Ernest P. Barka Assisted Living Community at Rockingham County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. It's one of the choices, but most likely it's the one that we would like to go with. It has a Medicaid option, which my ex-husband needs. Also, from that facility, when he is no longer able to be in assisted living, he can move right into their partnering nursing home, which is right there. It was fairly recently renovated, so it was quite modern. The hallways were wide and very bright. The rooms were very clean. There are many organized activities. The dining area was very, very nice. The staff was very nice. She was very business-like, not the warmest, but very concise. She gave good information, but was not very welcoming. We didn't have any meals there, but the menu looked very good. Regarding appearance, it was much nicer on the inside, but I didn't like the outside. Of the facilities that we looked at that accepted Medicaid, this one I thought was closest to the private pay ones. It was very clean and very nice. The other places that we looked at that accepted Medicaid were smaller and in need of updates. The care may have been very good, but this place appeared to have many activities."

"Pond View is a very nice clean and small facility with a farmhouse feel. I think they can only accommodate 10 residents. The manager there and the lna's are very warm and caring. They have activities for the residents, a very beautiful dog come to visit once a week, a young and pretty girl coming to play with the residents and etc. If the're is one or two who want to go to church on sunday, there;s a nearby church who will arrange to come and pick them up and bring them back. "This intimate community is privately run and very very attractive. Relatively new, it was built just ten years ago as an addition to Colonial Poplin, one of the most highly rated nursing homes. For someone who has a retiring nature or is just a bit social, and cares deeply about the graciousness of her/his environment, this is worth checking out. For the caregiver, the smaller scale make it much more manageable than a larger place. And the staff are fabulous. Not only are they caring, they know their stuff and keep a sharp eye out for their residents' well-being. They know their residents as individuals. They speak relatively little baby-talk to residents, a prevalent demeaning habit in some larger homes. Oh, and the two brothers who own it are very gracious too, and they go out of their way to ensure that the food is nicely done. My mom lived at Poplin Way and then Colonial Poplin for four years between 2002 and 2006. That was a while ago, but it' s still run by the two brothers. Their continued presence makes me thinks that Poplin still keeps to high standards. The only downside, the reason for four stars rather than five, is that the laundry regularly lost items (as is true at most homes), the person handling the accounts was not cut out for the job (they Must have someone else by now), and the doctor was a severe challenge (and has since moved on). Visit http://www.colonialpoplin.com/ and see for yourself. "
