"I have been to RiverWoods Durham, and what I liked best was the vibrancy of it. There's a whole different clientele there, it seems there's a large level of very independent people. And it was just very vibrant and very active because of the population that they serve. I tried the food there, and it was delicious. The dining area was beautiful, there were lots of different choices of places to sit, and it was bright and open. The staff couldn't have been more responsive. They had a little walking trail, and they had outdoor access, though not a lot but they had some. Everyone was wonderful, and my dad's still trying to get on the waiting list to get in there. I saw a lot of their facilities, and it was remarkable, and they offered terrific services there. It was a different atmosphere than the other place we toured, and it was a more independent group of people who were there."

"I thought Mark WentWorth was absolutely beautiful. It was one of the nicest properties I visited. The lobby space was very nicely designed. There are wonderful sitting areas all over the property and on each floor. So, if somebody left their room and they headed down the hall, they had a place to sit. They had a snack area 24 hours a day. So, if somebody wished to have a cup of tea or coffee, piece of fruit, or a cookie, they had a place where they could get a snack. I thought that was outstanding. There were 2 dining areas, and one of them even had a piano. I thought that was a cool idea. So, if somebody chose to come in and play music for the residents, they could do it at a meal time or not. They also had a little space. They told me that there was somebody who lives there who loves to give little tutorials. He talks about travels and loves to give his presentations to the residents. In my opinion, the only drawback was, it was in the middle of the neighborhood and it was surrounded by houses. There wasn't a lot of walk around space. "

"Sentry Hill at York Harbor was a beautiful community, exactly what I wanted. It has freestanding independent living little cottages. My tour was fantastic. I only met one person. It was during COVID, so it was just the two of us, but she took me all around. She was wonderful, very friendly, and helpful. I wanted a private cottage, and there were very few places in Southern Maine that had them. I've chosen Sentry Hill because they had the private cottages."

"My Mom is a five year Resident of PV Nursing home in Derry NH. What a great place to live. Gives my whole family piece of mind and my Mom loves it here. Every staff member from Administrator and Social Services to Nursing and support staff work great with one important goal: create safe and pleasant living for our Senior. Rooms are clean, Meals are hot and delicious. Nursing staff very attentive to all special needs Residents might have. They have great activities for Residents and work very hard to make sure every one is engaged. Thank you Pleasant Valley. I would recommend this facility to any family looking for a great place for Senior."

"Both my parents were in Edgewood and my father's passed on now, but my mother is still there. She's in assisted living now. I like the quality of care, the consistency and the continuity of the caregivers, some of the dining options, and what was of interest to her was a swimming pool. The food was very good. There are a lot of independent living facilities there, apartments and maybe townhomes that some people are having gardens. There is a lot of walking available, some trails, in the neighborhood, in the wooded area, and around. They show some movies, they have a little library, a computer room and there are teaching available company videos. There's a lot to stimulate the mind. They have some speakers that come in. She's only been in assisted living for the last four months. I have visited with her briefly just by phone and then Facetime. They interact well with the residents as I would observe. They're very caring. They maintain them well and they have a dedicated maintenance staff and they are responsive to the residents' request for services and deal with issues pretty promptly. I haven't participated in there but a few when I visited, so it's limited but it was very positive when I did. For an institution, they had a variety in food and the quality of what they served was good and there was consistency."

"I visited Edgewood LifeCare Community. The staff is very nice and professional. We like them. The rooms are spacious and in excellent condition, and they have very nice views out onto the woods and fields. We had lunch there and the food was very good. The dining area is very attractive. It's very nice. They have a gym, a pool, a salon barbershop, and a little convenience shop."

"I went to The Berkeley Retirement Home. The guy was very nice that gave us a tour. He was informative and pretty thorough on what he told us. The reason why I didn't go with it is because it was really small. It's a really old building and the downstairs where they have the dining room is like painted brick walls. It just didn't seem that homey, and it seemed a little cold. My friend's mom is there and she loves it, but I really can't say too much because I haven't really experienced staying there. Some people like that smaller atmosphere where there's only a few people, which is nice, because you can get to know more people and be closer to them than have a bigger place. For the price, they were just shy of the price I'm paying at this other facility, and they seemed a lot more to offer. They're all in one area, and the only thing I didn't go to is the nursing home side of it. It was clean. It was an older building, but it seemed to be in good shape."

"The staff at Studley Home is wonderful! They are all so very caring and loving. My mother was treated so well there. If you feel whether there is a question about putting your loved one in this facility, don't, you'll never regret your decision. Our family gives the Studley Home 10 Stars!!!! The rooms are very nice. Cleaned daily. The staff does a great job keeping the residents entertained with crafts, exercise, puzzles. They also bring in a piano player, singers. They also do parties on holidays and birthday parties for their residents. The staff at Studley Home became part of our family. "

"We moved Mom into Villa Crest assisted living. She's been there for a few weeks now, and she's comfortable and happy. It has been absolutely wonderful. I can't say enough about it. The staff has been amazing. Everyone is so friendly. It was very organized and clean. It's just a happy community. She has a studio and it is adorable. It has a nice little kitchen area if she chose to use it. It's very pleasant. I'm very happy. They come and they invite her daily to activities, and yesterday she did cornhole. She didn't even know what it was, and I thought that was pretty impressive. She's done some bingo. She's trying different things, which just really warms my heart. She's a pretty picky eater, and she's been eating much better than she was at home. She hasn't complained at all. She eats whatever they give them, she says, except for fish. They seem to have quite a variety of activities, some are consistent, like they consistently have bingo. They have religious kinds of activities she could choose to go to if she wanted to. So far it seems to be very appealing. No one wants to pay thousands of dollars, but for what she's getting and the peace of mind, the facility and the food, I would say it's reasonable. I'm very, very happy."

"My dad is at Maple Leaf Health Care Center. We haven't been able to go and see him, so I don't know how he's doing, but I can tell that he is clean. I saw his fingernails were clean, he was neat looking, and his hair was combed. We saw him six feet apart and he was sitting on a wheelchair, so I didn't see him walk. I'm a nurse, so I was looking for how he was walking, how they transferred him, and that kind of stuff. They've been very nice, very cooperative, and trying to keep us updated. The facility is clean, but it's an old building, and kind of rundown a little bit. They don't have really nice outdoor facilities either. My dad used to look out in the yard and see his birds and stuff, and there's none of that there. It's just sort of in the middle of a city, but the people were very nice. COVID made it all difficult, but I think they're doing the best they can."

"Visited this facility and thought it was a wonderful place if you are unable to get around easily. The staff is helpful with their residents. The facility is clean, and in a well kept older building. Most residents are not able to get out, and or able to walk very far independently, so it's a perfect place for someone that is not very active. Nice place overall :) "

"Bedford Hills is very good, and they had a rehab center. The rooms are very clean, and the grounds are beautiful. The dining area is very neat and clean. "

"My mom is at Briston Manor West and the thing I like the most about it is that they have two different levels of independent living. They have smaller apartments on the inner part of the property and then on the outside part of the property are the cottages. They provide game time for them so that anyone who wants to go down and play games can go and their kitchen is stocked so that they can cook if they want to. There's always someone onsite, so if somebody loses their key or forgets their key, there's somebody there that can let them back into their apartments. (I think there might be a slight charge for that, but it's worth it). It's just nice and everyone's friendly. The apartments are clean, they provide transportation to their doctor's appointment or to go shopping, and they are pretty affordable with their pricing. I think they've been great."
