"The Commons in Lincoln is excellent. The whole facility and the staff are wonderful. Mom has no complaints at all about the food. They have a swimming pool, lots of activities, and ways to get transportation to different places. If you needed more care, they have people that would come in. She has two meals per day that she could just have them take care of. They also have an exercise room, an art room, and a great room where they have music, bocce, and all kinds of other activities. They have wonderful grounds. Mom loves going for a walk so she could go for walks for around the grounds. Lincoln has many, many miles of paths and grocery stores nearby. It's just everything she needed. They have lots of concerts. Before COVID, they had children come in whom the residents had interactions with. Then they have exercise classes, as well as religious services, music, art classes, and lectures about all different topics including geography and politics."

"Hunt Community is beautiful. It's wonderful. They have all the amenities and all, but I couldn't afford that. I would give them 100%. They have it all. Somebody took me on a tour, and I saw everything. He was great. I have nothing negative to say about that place. It was clean. That would be a place I would go if I could afford it, definitely."

"The Huntington Community was a step up in all aspects from other places I visited. The community was upscale. They have lovely apartments. They also have nursing care for later on in life. I had lunch there, and it was very nice. There were no singular rooms there. They were all apartments or even houses. They did have a lap pool for swimming, a wood working room, and an exercise room. They also had book discussions in the evening. However, the standards are very high for getting in and it was very expensive too. You need to be able to walk in, participate in the activities, and pay a lot of money. "

"I visited Edgewood LifeCare Community. The staff is very nice and professional. We like them. The rooms are spacious and in excellent condition, and they have very nice views out onto the woods and fields. We had lunch there and the food was very good. The dining area is very attractive. It's very nice. They have a gym, a pool, a salon barbershop, and a little convenience shop."

"We toured Riverwoods Manchester a few times, and the people were very friendly. It was a really nice-sized facility. There were a good number of activities. One of the things we liked about it is that the independent living was connected to the assisted living, memory care, and the full nursing care. If one of my parents had to go to another level of care, the other one could visit all the time or they could move together. They had a nice variety of units with different sizes and prices. They have a full gym, classes like tap dancing, chair yoga, chair Taichi, lectures, and movies. They did not have a swimming pool though (which was something that I was interested in), but they had all of those other things. They also have some nice communal spaces where they set out a continental breakfast and free coffee every morning to encourage people to come out and socialize. They had some nice outdoor patio spaces, and they looked nice."

"I only visited Carleton-Willard for about half an hour in July 2012, but I got a very positive impression at the time I was there. My step-grandmother is currently living in Carleton-Willard's assisted living facility, after transitioning there from their independent living apartments. I appreciate that she is able to transition towards receiving more care as her age increases and her Alzheimer's gets worse, all within the same facility. The facility seemed very clean and well-lit, and all of the staff were friendly and engaging. Her rooms were a nice size and looked very comfortable, and the staff ensured that the grounds were pristine - including her personal patio. There were dozens of activities to choose from each day - we saw signs for movies, croquet, jigsaw puzzles, billiards, etc. They held daily events and had a great library including recent titles. There were respectful, small memorials to residents who had recently passed, and great welcome signs for new residents. The facility seemed incredibly well maintained and truly geared towards the residents' best interests including not only comfort but also day-to-day enjoyment. "
