"This is the most caring, compassionate group of people you will ever meet. My fiance was only 45 and terminally ill when he was a client here. Imagine how it feels when you were a strapping six foot bodybuilder and now you are reduced to having people help you to the bathroom. Yet, he never felt a loss of dignity, because these people really know how to do this work!!! I would never hesitate one bit to recommend Day by Day, and its caring staff, to anyone! Even when as his life slipped away awaiting a transplant that would never come, my sweetheart had as one of his goals the desire to go back to Day by Day to help him recover...he truly loved the staff there and the way they obviously cared about him as an individual."

"My sister went to Pondview Lodge Adult Day Health. All the day placements had to close with the CDC restrictions. She was very happy there. She was there a couple of years and I was very happy with that. It was very nice. The staff was very good and they brought in volunteers for entertainment. It was very safe and very structured. She used to really look forward to going there. I would bring her there in the morning. She was there from 9:00 until 2:30 or 3:00 in the afternoon. It was gorgeous. It had two floors, and it had a wide, open area with a piano and different things that they could do. They offered different activities. The upstairs clients were the ones who could take on field trips. They evaluate the person, then they would try them on one floor or the other floor depending on what their needs were. They would develop a care program of what their needs were. That's how they categorize them, which was so good. They stopped when the virus started. It was perfect because you could pick your loved ones up, then you could do little groceries, then come home and have supper with the family. They had a nurse come in for some of the people there. The building itself is ideal for seniors because it's huge. It's two big floors and it's located right on a lake. They went fishing. It was so tranquil, serene, nice, and quiet. It was a nice place for them to be. I felt comfortable she was there. We loved it. I can't say enough. I'm a big advocate for those day centers. They need to do something to get them back because it's really helpful, especially for caretakers who need to work."

"My sister and I visited the Blaire House of Tewksbury in person, and we also took my cousin to see it on a different day. Their assisted living and memory care are in one building. The memory care is up on the 3rd floor. The woman in charge, Betsy, I think her name is, was very accommodating, very flexible with meeting us, giving us a wonderful tour, and meeting some of the staff there. When we came back another 4 or 5 days later when we took my cousin, they spent a lot of time trying to explain things to him and the different programs available to him. They spent time showing him thoroughly all the rooms. He wanted to be able to get out and she said they have a walking group every morning. He likes music, so they have a music program, at least once, sometimes twice, a week, and all the positive things that she was trying to get him to understand on all the activities that were involved there. They have little outside patios and things like that that he could eventually get out to with somebody there. Betsy was very, very accommodating with her time for us. She spent a lot of time with us both. I thought the place was immaculate and very well maintained. The room that we thought we were going to put him in was going to be freshly painted and everything because somebody had left. I thought it was very, very clean. They offered us some food but my cousin didn't want anything. We sat in the dining area and looked at the menu. If there's nothing that you like on the menu, there are back-ups like the burgers and things like that. Betsy explained all that to us and showed them where it was. There were always snacks available and she showed us where they were. We saw some people that were living there and there were some men, which was something that we were hoping to see. We were impressed enough that we decided that would be a good spot for him. He just didn't feel the same way and didn't want to go anywhere."

"Upon arrival, it was a hot day and staff and residents alike were outside smoking at the entrance--not a pretty site. The facility did not look dirty at all but looked cramped and old. They offer both an assisted living component as well as adult day. Every adult day resident was in a small room with chairs formed in a circle chatting. I suppose some type of activity had just ended or was just beginning but no staff was in the room at the time I was there. The food being prepared for lunch looked and smelled wonderful and the staff was pleasant but the dining room had an institutional feeling. The facility was not locked--I did have an appointment and walked right in and said hello to the administrator. I know a man personally who sends a loved one there during the day and is thrilled with the facility. The assisted living rooms looked homey and pleasant with the residents' personal touches--decorations, wreaths, photos, etc. "

"My husband Dick and I were the first two applicants at our Gloucester unit of PACE- It has been a journey. My husband was a pussy cat.. I on the other hand, was not. I was a very difficult person for them to deal with.. But they kept up their efforts to get me to help myself with their patience, I finally realized I was my own worst enemy, and they genuinely cared about us. The entire staff is wonderful, patient, caring and understanding. The interaction with staff and each individual is sincere. The food is excellent-home made-no processed foods at all. The facility has everything conceivable to aid each of us in our quest for a meaningful life. If the Northshore Unit is any example of your other facilities, you are all remarkable--but I will always think of our unit here in Gloucester Ma. as the Flagship of your group=and one to set examples by. "Here on Earth is an adult day care facility operating from 9-3 lcoated in the personal home of the owner and her husband. It is a colonial with a beautiful, large yard. The inside of the home is lovely, too. It's spacious and homey. It looks like a regular home, which is the feel the owner is trying to convey. Threre were few residents there the day I visited. It seemed more of a social interaction than a medical one. I was struck by the beautiful artwork by the residents displayed on the wall in the dining-turned craft room. I saw an elderly participant sitting peacefully in the sunroom reading a book. Looks like a beautiful place for those not in need of a great deal of care or for those whose memory is impaired or who just needs company. "

"My husband is in the Veteran's Adult Care group at the Soldiers Home and it has done wonders for him. Actually, it has helped his memory and conversation a little. The people there are so kind, thoughtful and understanding. The people that attend love it. They get to talk about their time in the service and they all seem to love that. They go over the newspaper with them every morning and then have a discussion about current events. Some days the play a DVD with "older" music which the men and women love. Some days my husband does not want to leave there. I'm so greatful to my husband's Dr. for telling me about this program. I wish more people knew of it. "

"I cannot say enough about the Community Family day care services in Medford, MA that my 97year old Mother attends. They are wonderful, caring, people, speaking for my Mother the attention that she receives from them are outstanding. I always receive notice if the staff have any questions regarding my Mother, whether it be an health issue, or some personal care. I am so grateful that I found this facility and have peace of mind while she is there. "

"Adult Daily care. Dad been attending one year. It’s been a blessing. Looking at it from the view point of what the senior likes and will thrive vs what I prefer. We needed assistance from isolation; meds; nutrition and a friendly hello every day. He has received all of them. They do a easy game daily and some musical guests. He enjoys the simple life now and that is ok. Pleasant staff with some turn over but that’s to be expected. I feel he’s safe. I never had negative issue w staff. He’s stable. Enjoy the moments. A new space in 2019 for adult daily care too."
