"When I was looking for placement for my mom I looked for a location that felt like home. The staff at Webster has been there for many years which told me the management is doing something right. They care about their residents. I knew it would be a great fit for my mom. I felt safe knowing she was being cared for 24/7. The nurses and LNA's treated my mom like family. Visiting her in her unit she was always happy and smiling. What else could I have asked for. I highly recommend Webster and appreciate all that was done for my mom."

"This intimate community is privately run and very very attractive. Relatively new, it was built just ten years ago as an addition to Colonial Poplin, one of the most highly rated nursing homes. For someone who has a retiring nature or is just a bit social, and cares deeply about the graciousness of her/his environment, this is worth checking out. For the caregiver, the smaller scale make it much more manageable than a larger place. And the staff are fabulous. Not only are they caring, they know their stuff and keep a sharp eye out for their residents' well-being. They know their residents as individuals. They speak relatively little baby-talk to residents, a prevalent demeaning habit in some larger homes. Oh, and the two brothers who own it are very gracious too, and they go out of their way to ensure that the food is nicely done. My mom lived at Poplin Way and then Colonial Poplin for four years between 2002 and 2006. That was a while ago, but it' s still run by the two brothers. Their continued presence makes me thinks that Poplin still keeps to high standards. The only downside, the reason for four stars rather than five, is that the laundry regularly lost items (as is true at most homes), the person handling the accounts was not cut out for the job (they Must have someone else by now), and the doctor was a severe challenge (and has since moved on). "My favorite part about my stay here is the therapy. They are good and kind. The aides are very friendly and helpful. They are patient, “old ladies don’t move fast.” I’ve been in a lot of rehabs, here you are given the best attention out of all of them!"

"The family is very happy with the care that my uncle is getting at The Edgewood. Right now, he’s in the Dementia/Alzheimer’s Unit. The staff is nice. He’s been in there for several months now. They do special things for military, and they have crafts, cards, and go on outings, but my uncle has Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, so he doesn’t use the activities area. "

"My wife is in the dementia wing so I can only comment on that aspect of the Cedar Center. The rooms are fine, two people to the room with privacy screening. The Staff is exceptionally patient and caring."

"My mom is currently at Port Healthcare Center. They've been fantastic. The staff members are very caring and very supportive. The facility is beautiful and well-kept. The maintenance department is great. If you need something, they take care of it immediately. It's a fairly new facility, so it's beautiful. The food is wonderful. It's nicely prepared and meal appropriate based on needs."

"Adviniacare Newburyport was awful. I had surgery about three years ago and I went there. It was terrific. The people that worked at the place were terrific. The food was excellent and I had great care. When I got sick the second time, I chose the same place, but a new company bought them. It's just awful. Once I got my rehab and a day or two before I was able be discharged, they gave me permission that I could walk with my walker out in the corridor. When you walked by the nurse's station or the hallway, nobody would even speak to you. I've never seen such a place. The food was awful. I lost 30 some pounds from the time I had the surgery. I'll never go back to it. It's not. They need to have more help. For instance, the aide that I was assigned to get me cleaned up in the morning would come in and drop me the towel and a clean nightgown and leave, so I was on my own. I never had my bed changed. The other thing that really disturbed me while I was there, they had three patients who were very sick with COVID and I got COVID. I was out in the corridors walking up and down to get my exercise like I was supposed to. Nobody bothered to tell me there were three patients on the floor that had COVID. I never knew about it until I got it myself. I said, "Are there people here that's got COVID?" They said, "Yes, we got three, one is very, very sick." I had to be there for nearly an extra week because of it. The staff was poor. You put on your light to get help to go to the bathroom, and an hour later you were still waiting. A lot of times I couldn't eat their food. There was nothing wrong with the place. It's not the place, it's the help, the people they got in there taking care of the patients. Nobody ever spoke to me about activities. The people from physical therapy were great. I had the same girl every time and she was terrific. I was in a shared room, but my neighbor was not here. I was there for close to two weeks and I had the room alone, which was nice to me."

"I thought Mark WentWorth was absolutely beautiful. It was one of the nicest properties I visited. The lobby space was very nicely designed. There are wonderful sitting areas all over the property and on each floor. So, if somebody left their room and they headed down the hall, they had a place to sit. They had a snack area 24 hours a day. So, if somebody wished to have a cup of tea or coffee, piece of fruit, or a cookie, they had a place where they could get a snack. I thought that was outstanding. There were 2 dining areas, and one of them even had a piano. I thought that was a cool idea. So, if somebody chose to come in and play music for the residents, they could do it at a meal time or not. They also had a little space. They told me that there was somebody who lives there who loves to give little tutorials. He talks about travels and loves to give his presentations to the residents. In my opinion, the only drawback was, it was in the middle of the neighborhood and it was surrounded by houses. There wasn't a lot of walk around space. "

"I liked the way the rooms were divided at St. Ann Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Even though the rooms were shared, there was a wall between the two so that it was more private than a curtain. It's a very nice place and it's very clean and it's very up to date. It's a pretty place in a pretty location. They were very informative about the questions that we were asking. If you're a Catholic, it was geared toward mainly being a Catholic. They had a little chapel and a priest available."

"Wingate at Haverhill seemed clean and appeared to be well maintained. It seemed like the people were well cared for. The staff seemed upbeat like they enjoyed working there. Most of the people there are under Medicare. "

"I am always met by staff as helpful and happy. The one bedroom my dad has is very large and and doesn’t feel cramped and more like home. His head Nurse Michele is one in a million. Always positive and always keeps me informed and you know how much she cares. My dad loves 10:00 am daily socialization, mass and other activities."

"I can say that I was very pleased with the treatment and care my mom got @ baker Katz. She was treated as part of a large family. I would recommend this facility to any one . When you walk in it is not the best looking place as a chain nursing home is but the care the staff gave my mom makes up for it in a big way. She was a difficult patient but they gave her great care. Always clean,fussy eater and made every effort to try to make and give her foods that she would eat. Highly recommend this place. "

"Overall, Durgin Pines was nicely kept and clean. If you were looking for rehab, which my husband was, it did not fit his needs. Other than that, the staff was very friendly and very helpful. My husband was in the rehab section, and the staff did not keep him as fully informed as he would have liked to be. "
