I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My wife recently spent several weeks in this facility. The therapy was acceptable but the patient care was poor. From extended time waiting for assistance to uncaring attendants, and other issues, it was terrible. There was a time where an aide came in response to an assistance call. My wife needed to have her undergarment changed. The aide said she was going on break and she would be back after to change my wife. It was over 30 minutes before she came back. There were consistent instances where an aide said she would come back or send someone else but never did. The food was not good, usually not hot. This was a very bad experience for us. Do not believe the star ratings from Medicare. They have very little to do with patient care issues. We had need to use another rehab facility after being discharged from this one. We chose another facility and the experience there far surpassed what we experienced at this facility, in every regard. I do not recommend Christian Extended Care & Rehabilitation.

Right now, my mom is in rehab at Christian Extended Care & Rehabilitation. She is getting better at walking and stuff, so that's good. The food isn't that great from what I understand. I think my mom is getting the attention she needs, but I know there are a lot of complaints about the food and stuff. I know they have activities. I just don't think my mom wants to participate in them. They have board games and card games; I had seen those on the calendar. They have movie nights and stuff. In terms of amenities, I've seen where they stay like the lobby and stuff, and I've seen the pavilion. I think they have a physical therapy room, too. In terms of upkeep, it usually seems like it's clean. It's also near a hospital. The hospital is probably the big one.

My mom is at Christian Extended Care & Rehabilitation for rehab. Majority of the staff is fine and very attentive. I just think they're very short-staffed. She doesn't get changed as quickly as I think she should, but otherwise, they are fine. The atmosphere is really good. This is her second time going there. She has a roommate and the rooms are clean and big enough for two people. The dining area is nice and spacious, too. Breakfast and lunch are usually pretty good. Dinner is a little less. They also have bingo and other things that they can go down and participate in.

My 81 year old mother has been living in the long term care portion of this facility since July 2016. She has adjusted very well and the staff is very kind to her. The facility is extremely clean. We are happy with it overall

Friend or relative of resident

My mother was there after a fall in 2008, the first thing I noticed was it didn't smell like a facilities. All the staff was kind to mother...they would bath her before any of us arrived. Her room was next to a window she enjoyed looking out each morning at the birds. There was a restaurant in the same building if we didn't to eat with mom we could eat there and the food was pretty good for a facility. We had been told that the more you visit the better off you loved one will be.....so all of us did just that daily not any special time....I was there with her in therapy, meals and sometime for bathing....I took mother flowers and gave some to her roommate as well..mother was there over 6weeks. The Social Worker explained everything to me in lay terms which was good for me. The staff was kind, pleasant and as I looked around I noticed they treated all the clients with equal time and patience. They played games, took walks, they combed her hair, rolled her around in her chair. This was mom first time being in a facility, and her last. We her sibling took care of mama laundry. I was there to read bedtime stories to her and sometimes to eat with her. My brothers from Florida came in for one week, that's how we took care of mother all of us not everything on one sibling. Mom has gone to her reward now she is missed very much. I wrote the facility a thank you note and I do hear from them occasionally.
