I had a very poor experience with this facility from the beginning. After several attempts to call, a person finally answered but seemed uncommunicative and resentful of my desire to see the facility. I managed to schedule an appointment and arrived in a neighbourhood that looked a little rough. The house in question had a fairly large lot with some grass, and the facility was a converted mid-20th-century single family home on a busy street. The building itself appeared to be old and run-down from the outside. One of the first things I noticed was a group of residents sitting on benches on the front porch. As I walked up to the porch entry, a mean-looking dog began to snarl and growl at me. One resident took hold of the dog's collar while another woman stood to greet me - she had answered the phone and was expecting me. Upon entering the house, my guide asked several questions which seemed geared toward convincing me that I did not, in fact, want my grandparents to live there, and the tour I got seemed half-hearted. I was shown doorways to three shared bedrooms, each with several single beds for residents. I also saw the dining room and TV Room, as well as a short glimpse in the kitchen door. The interior appeared a bit jumbled and disorganised, and there was a second circle of chairs in the TV Room. It was my impression that the "activities" for residents consisted of sitting inside watching TV when it was very hot or very cold, and sitting on the porch when it was nice outside. Unfortunately, most of the residents looked bored and sullen when I passed them on the porch. After my very short tour, my guide instructed a resident to catch the dog again, but the resident was unable to hold her back. As I was leaving the house, the dog bit my hip. I believe this dog is a threat to both new residents and visitors (which seem infrequent here) and I would not, under any circumstances, send my loved ones to live in this facility.
