Concerned Family

My dad has been in Parkway Health & Rehab since December. It's not good. They are doing some renovation in an attempt to make it more cosmetically appealing, but I don't care what the place looks like as long as they take care of my dad. For me, that's the biggest thing. The memory impaired are like children and require an extra level of patience and compassion, but we're not finding that to always be the case. The director of nursing and some members of the staff are excellent. I think they lack training in working with or knowing how to care for those with memory impairment. I think they look at them in the same light as they would a psychiatric patient, and I have a problem with that. There is not a lot of professionalism that I see as far as with the hands-on care of my dad.
