Primrose Retirement Community of Jefferson City

I liked the atmosphere at Primrose Retirement Community of Jefferson City. It was very warm, inviting, and very homey. It seemed to be more in line with their décor and lifestyle. I liked the fact that the staff retention rate was very satisfactory. Many of them have been there for many years. So, that impressed me a lot, too. They were just very informative and very helpful. I liked the overall cleanliness of the facility and that it had a parking garage that's heated and attached to the facility for the residents. The rooms were adequate. The dining area was nice and inviting. It was restaurant-style. They have lots of activities that would be interesting for my parents. They have outings, a little pub where they have activities, and a lot of areas that the residents can actually congregate, sit in, and visit. It's a rural setting. So, I know that my dad would enjoy the countryside of that facility if he moved in there and the fact that they're only 5 minutes from my house makes that wonderful because I can be very involved in their care.

Primrose Retirement Community of Jefferson City was absolutely beautiful. They have so many amenities that keep my father-in-law busy. They have live entertainment every Friday, card games, bingo, a billiard table, and just a lot of things that he really looks forward to. They are able to go to the YMCA for exercise or go shopping. They have all different things that he was just so interested in. He didn't have furniture in his apartment yet, but he didn't care. That's how ready and excited he was to start meeting people. They also had very nice dining areas. There's the dining hall, a little cafe (which looks like you're eating in a French cafe area), and a bar where you can go and have alcoholic drinks and where they have their live entertainment, They have people come in and sing, and they put the words up on the screen like a karaoke. It's a very, very popular activity for the residents.

We checked out Primrose Retirement Community. It's a new building, and we were invited to have lunch in their dining room. They showed us the common areas, and we saw several of the rooms. I think that helped us determine at the time that we're probably looking for a two-bedroom unit. We both had bathroom problems, so sometimes it's nice to have two bathrooms. When they showed us a two-bedroom with two-bathroom unit, we found that it had two toilets, two sinks and two showers; we don't need two showers. What we're looking for personally is a two-bedroom, one-and-a-half bath. They had a chapel, a theater, a pub, physical therapy, group exercise, card games, and board games. We saw the residents doing those activities. We were impressed with the place. We would get in touch with them when we're ready to move forward. They had many options. They told us they had several duplexes that sat behind the U-shaped building. We like the duplex situation, but we'll just have to wait and see what's for us. We were very impressed with Primrose.

I really liked Primrose Retirement Community of Jefferson City. They had a lot of options. The people were very friendly. The place was very clean. It's one of the nicer, newer places in Jefferson City. They had a restaurant with choices, so it made people feel they weren't going to a nursing home cafeteria. They had one- and two-bedrooms, and villas with their own garage and fireplaces. There was a huge parking garage for those who were still independent. They had arts, drawing, painting, and all kinds of different exercise activities. They also had a fitness center but they did not have a pool which would have really made it perfect. They had a movie theater, hair salon and a bar. It's easily accessible with the seniors in mind.

My visit to Primrose was very good. The place was impressive and had a good atmosphere. The staff and people were very nice. The dining area was very large and the food was excellent. They had an exercise room, in-house beauty shop, pub, bistro, movie theater, and a chapel. Everything seemed like it would be a lot of fun and everything was very clean. I was impressed overall.
