My sister moved into Claiborne at Gulfport Highlands this past week. They were pretty attentive to her. They've done all they can to make her feel welcome. And they've been very helpful with getting her settled in. Anything she needs they try to oblige her. They were all friendly and nice. And the place is very clean and well-kept. They have menus for dinner and if you don't like what's on the menu they have a second one. You can choose like hamburgers or salad. You have an option if you don't like what they're having for dinner. She has a cute apartment It's a one-bedroom. She wanted something with division walls. She didn't want a studio. So, she has a one-bedroom. And, of course, everything is handicapped accessible, so her bathroom is huge, like a big closet. There's a sliding door in her bathroom, which makes it look modern, and it's a decent size. We got it furnished for her. It's nice. It has a kitchen with a full-size refrigerator and a microwave was provided.

If you are interested in placing your loved one in the memory care unit, be advised of the following issues. There is a specific nurse who should NO longer be able to work with the memory care residents. I WOULD NEVER WANT MY LOVED ONE TREATED BY THIS TOXIC NURSE. I am there visiting enough to see how she treats the residents, talks to the residents and simply has no patience with them along with a serious attitude! The staff is ALWAYS revolving and changing and there are new or “agency” staff there daily/weekly that have no clue what they are doing. They are on their phones 1/2 the day. The activities director for the memory care is non existent every time we visit and therefore have found out and seen that these residents have very little to nothing to do daily. It is heartbreaking! I would think twice before placing my loved one in this facility especially in the memory care unit!

I have visited the memory care unit and have found the following.. 1.0 Tables not cleaned between breakfast and lunch 2.0 Trash under tables 3.0 Activites are minimal...see many residents asleep at the table, or stuck in front of tv watching animal shows or child like movies....some just wonder freely 4.0 As I have visited, one poor resident I have noticed being injured three times, first a black and blue eye and side of face, second injury the same but with a dozen staples in the scalp, and now a broken arm....how does this happen? 5.0 The staff is slow to respond to residents, one resident ask to be helped to bed, and was told she would look for someone 6.0 When I ask to speak to director....more than once, several times, the director seems non existent My prayers for all the residents in memory care because often they cant explain how they are being treated

Claiborne at Gulfport Highlands is a brand-new facility, and you could tell it was. Everything was sparkling. It was just wonderful. I was shown the different dining areas, they had more than one. They had the main dining, a bistro, and a smaller area where you could also dine. It was very accommodating in every way. They explained that it was restaurant style, you go to your table, someone comes and take your order, and then it's brought to your table. It was beautiful. You could tell it had just been done, and nothing was held back. Everything was just all the extras. It was a beautiful facility, with nice landscaping, and courtyard areas. The only thing I didn't like there was that it was two-story, but they assured me that they took that into consideration at all times. It's just a little scary when you've got somebody just wheelchair- bound.

I liked the fact that Claiborne at Gulfport Highlands was smaller. Everybody was very helpful, very nice, very accommodating, and answered any question I had. It's all very well put together. It's just in a rural area, so they didn't have anything very close.

If you are looking at this place I urge you to look elsewhere. My father spent 4 months there before his treatment got so bad that we had to move him to another place right around the corner. If you do chose this place I suggest you put a camera in the rooms. We have video evidence of mishandling his medication is just one example.

We placed my mom at Claiborne at Gulfport Highlands, and it's awesome. I like the security and knowing she is safe. It is beautiful, very peaceful, and very clean. The staff are very helpful and very caring. The cook is awesome. I'm not 100% sure about the meals, but I like the man that prepares them. He is very kind and very considerate. He has relationships with the residents. The dining area is spacious, clean, and very bright. My mom has gone on a van ride with her new friends, and she was excited about that. They actually took them safely out of the facility for a ride, which was nice. There is a beauty salon. Once she gets established, they said they could take her for activities over in the assisted living site, which is awesome.

The location of Claiborne at Gulfport Highlands is nice. It's not far at all from anything. I like it. It was not a brand new place but it was nice. Everything was clean. All the people that I spoke to, I asked them all the questions, they were nice. I didn't try the food; I just asked questions. They have a cafeteria and movie theater. It's a small place; it might have 15 chairs in the room for the people to sit. They have a game room and an activity room.

Claiborne at Gulfport Highlands was wonderful. The staff members were overwhelmingly nice and caring. They were willing to compromise and work with us. The food was fantastic. We talked to several people there, and they were all very, very happy with it. Everybody we talked to was very, very happy with the facility. It was very clean. The layouts of those apartments were just absolutely gorgeous. It took into consideration that people needed a little more space, but yet they had thought about everything. They had thought about the door sliding into the walls where people didn't have to worry about pulling them out. They had even looked at the design of the swing of the doors to help disabled people to get through. The showers were very nice. They had the benches that were all there. It was just a wonderful, wonderful place. I can't say enough. I would rate them five on all scales.
