Mom is at SummerHouse Bay Cove Memory Care. The nurses seem to be doing a good job. The food's good. They have a devotion every morning, which is lovely, and they sing at night together. They do a little bit of exercise, too. I just think there needs to be more activities going on. On the weekends there's not much going on for them, but the place is extremely clean and all the help is very sweet and very professional. The rooms are big. The bathrooms are big. Mom has a one bedroom and the closet space is very good. She has a small table in there, a recliner, a queen sized bed with drawers, and a bookcase. So, it's large enough. They seem to be very caring. Everything that happens to each resident is written down, so you have a full report of what's going on when I call in. I believe it's a really good place to recommend.

I toured SummerHouse Bay Cove Memory Care. It was nice and clean. The staff was attentive and very receptive. They had specific activities for women such as arts and crafts, and men can do other things because they were not into arts and crafts. But they had a bulletin board for the week of what was going on. They had devotionals. The rooms were nice and of decent size.

I liked Summerhouse Bay Cove Memory Care. They have excellent programs. The one thing that stands out is that they offer a refreshment between breakfast and lunch, and lunch and dinner to make sure that the forgetful residents are getting something to drink or they may forget to drink, which is the case where my mother lives. Many of the residents, I see them going around, not drinking at all, and then having physical problems because of that. The staff was very friendly, and warm, and listened to my questions and anticipated questions I might have. At the time that I was in there, it looked like they were enjoying some sort of a guessing game. They evaluate the memory-challenged persons regularly and try to group them so that they're sitting together in the activities as well as at tables for meals so that they are with people that are of a similar cognitive level. The rooms were roomy, with ample space, and the thing that you noticed is that the shower is the direct walk-in. They have a wrap-around. It was a C shape around the activity dining hall area where you could walk in. And it's like a Southern-style porch that's completely screened in so that bugs won't annoy the residents, but enough shade trees that weren't too tall but just right, so people could look out between the trees on the lawn.

We chose The Cottage Memory Care at Bay Cove for my mom because of recommendations from different people that I know. My mom is in their memory care. They're very, very caring, very helpful, and she's in a really good situation. The staff is very attentive. They have constant daily schedules of activities. They sing. They have games, devotionals, church services, and painting. Those are what I've seen so far. They have a salon, a screened-in porch, a large dining room, and activity room. You have the ability to have a semi-private room, but most of the rooms are private.

The rooms are bright, spacious and safe. There are always activities for the residents to participate in. The staff gently encourages the residents to participate when they might be reluctant. The staff at Bay Cove Cottages have taken great care of my mom. It’s a difficult time when it becomes necessary for your loved one to transition to full time care, but we couldn’t have found a better place for our mom.

The Memory Care was very nice, and in an excellent location. The rooms were nice, with a porch which I really liked. However, there didnt seem to be anybody around when I was there. I asked them about their evacuation stuff, it's great that they're near the water, but that would put them in peril in terms of a hurricane.

I have moved my mother in. The reason I chose this place is because it is small and it has an incredible amount of attention from caregivers for each of the residents there. It is a very nice and a very home-like place where my mother can have her own furniture and all of her own things in her room. They stay very active. There are lots of activities at any time during the day. The residents are free to participate or not if they choose, so they are treated with a lot of respect. I think my mom will stay for as long as she can because she really likes it. They have fresh foods and plenty of vegetables. She likes the food a lot. She particularly likes how fresh it is. They choose different types of things. She gets fresh seafood, and she likes the fresh salad that they serve.

It was fancy, beautiful, and looked like a cruise ship or hotel when you go in. It was outstanding and on the bay. The dining room had a big grand piano in it and was really nice.
