"I choose Brookdale Biloxi for my sister because I am impressed with the staff. I really like everybody that I meet. They seem very friendly and very caring. Also, I am able to find a three-bedroom apartment where my sister only uses one room, so she shares the three bedroom apartment with two other residents, and that works out really well for her. I have lunch with my sister there, and the food is OK. They have different activities. One thing that my sister participates in that she enjoys is when they play trivia in the morning. The thing that I like for her is the fact that they can bring her to appointments, Walmart and places like that, and also to doctor visits. "

"The Blake at Biloxi is very new. It's only a year and a half old. We like the style of the building and the amenities, like the courtyard, the dining hall, the cafe, and all of the features that a lot of places offer, but they were just a little bit nicer. The staff is excellent. The sales rep, Monica, is wonderfully helpful. Everyone we met are supportive, good, and my husband continues to be very happy there. They are very friendly, professional, and good at their job. They all seemed happy to be working there. They have a full calendar that includes going to local places like restaurants or to the casinos, as well as entertainment at least once a month (like they had a carnival once and a food festival). Their daily calendar has at least two or three things on it every day for residents to participate in. I've eaten there several times and the food was excellent. It's expensive to live there, but you can see where the money's going. I don't feel like it's overpriced. I think you pay a little more there and they deliver better quality service, upkeep, and commitment to making it a nice place to live. They've been accommodating, patient and they've been great partners in getting my husband to a balanced place where we're all happy with the outcome. They are not only great at giving attention to taking care of the residents, but they also take care of the families of the residents. So, I feel cared for, even though I don't live there. They take very good care of me and help me cope with what's happening just as much as they do with my husband, and that's important to me."

"Claiborne at Gulfport Highlands is a brand-new facility, and you could tell it was. Everything was sparkling. It was just wonderful. I was shown the different dining areas, they had more than one. They had the main dining, a bistro, and a smaller area where you could also dine. It was very accommodating in every way. They explained that it was restaurant style, you go to your table, someone comes and take your order, and then it's brought to your table. It was beautiful. You could tell it had just been done, and nothing was held back. Everything was just all the extras. It was a beautiful facility, with nice landscaping, and courtyard areas. The only thing I didn't like there was that it was two-story, but they assured me that they took that into consideration at all times. It's just a little scary when you've got somebody just wheelchair- bound."

"I toured the facility about 3 weeks ago. The staff was so pleasant and kind. I met with the healthcare nurse and she was able to answer all of my questions. As we passed the dining hall, I watched as many of the residents greeted her and just had the most wonderful smiles on their faces. This is how you know that this is a good place! When you have staff that make an impression on the residents, well it just warms my heart. I definitely want my mom to live here. I would recommend Summerfield to anyone. Just the backyard alone is amazing! If you haven't toured, then you really need to!"

"Everything about Lighthouse was good. The place was very nice and very well decorated. It was always clean. The staff was very nice and very caring. They were great about keeping us informed if anything was going on with Mom. The food was good. They had family style dining. They have one big dining table where all the residents eat together in each cottage (there's only ten residents per cottage). Everything is open to where if staff is in the kitchen, they can see anybody sitting in the living area watching TV, or anybody that may be at the dining room table. I felt like the services Mom received were good up until the end. What happened was there was a nurse that had been out on medical leave for seven months, and Mom had definitely taken a downturn while he was out. She had had several falls and had started walking with a walker. After the last fall, they basically had her in a wheelchair. Her back was hurting so bad and we were in the process of trying to get that fixed. He came back after seven months and they told me they sent out emails, so he should have been able to update every day on all the patients that he cares for. He should have had all of her notes and all about how many times she had fallen and the back pain and all, but when he was in the room with her he let her get up and walk without a walker or a wheelchair when they were both sitting there in her room. So, he should have known that she's had a lot of falls and probably needs to be using one of the two. That was the only complaint I had about any of the staff. It was just that one incident. I hate to punish them all for one person. It's a nice facility and they have transportation. They also have a beauty salon in the facility."
