I was blessed to find Grace Homes for my elderly grandfather after losing my grandma unexpectedly. I could not have found a better place! The staff loves my grandpa almost as much as I do and they take excellent care of him! His dementia was too progressed for him to live alone and I know my grandma would approve...if he can't be with family, this is the next best place to be! In the beginning I would get anxious about visiting and sad when I left because all he wanted to do was go home. Now I leave with a smile after every visit (and no anxiety before I get there) because I know how well he is cared for and I know I don't have to worry about him!! His dementia has gotten worse but he still knows who I am and can communicate to some degree. I enjoy my visits, not only with grandpa but with the staff and other residents as well. I have gained an honorary grandpa in the process (although he has dementia too and forgot, but it's still sweet that he asked if he could be my grandpa too)!! I can only say wonderful things about Grace Homes and I highly recommend them!! Thank you to everyone there for taking such wonderful care of one of the most important people in my life!!

As a care provider who comes into Grace Homes, I am impressed with the consistency of caregivers. There is a solid core group of staff that is attentive to the needs of the residents. They are genuinely interested in incorporating suggestions that will maximize their client’s mobility and safety. Caring and compassion is demonstrated from the owner Bethany, and is fostered by everyone providing assistance to the residents. The home is very accessible, clean, and spacious, with a one-level layout that is easily navigated with wheelchairs and assistive devices. Carolyn Blake, PT, GCS

My mother was fortunate to be at Grace Homes for the last nine months of her life. She had a very rare, debilitating disorder, which left her speechless and mostly immobile. Because of her condition, she had many challenges. However, the staff not only accepted her but embraced those challenges. It was a sparkling clean and homey setting. There was always home cooked meals. Near the end of her life, she was able to die with dignity because of the care of the entire staff and Bethany, the owner.

The staff at Grace Home were attentive and kind to my mother. She stayed at the facility after foot surgery - the staff made sure her pain was well controlled and she kept her feet elevated on pillows to keep the swelling down. She was sad to leave.

The staff was always short staffed. Seemed nursing was never there.. The owner was very in-personable.
Provider Response
Dear buffer,
Thank you for your feedback. Sorry to read you feel Grace Homes is at times short staffed. Our staffing ratio of one Certified Nursing Assistant per 3-4 residents during awake hours allows our staff to provide patient, personalized care.

Initially it was kind of an emergency situation as far as placement goes. They were so willing to go above and beyond. My grandpa was in a hospital. When he was being discharged, they offered to pick him up from there and bring him to their home. I just think that was above and beyond. They suit the perfect needs for my grandpa. Grace Homes does a lot of organic cooking. All the meals are home cooked. That's another bonus from that facility. He has a private room by himself. It's just a bedroom but it's very cozy and warm. It's really nice. He's happy there but of course he'd rather be in his own home but that's not an option with his dementia. He needs 24-hour care. I think that it's definitely the second best if you can't be in your own home. The staff is wonderful. They're just loving and caring.

We chose Grace Homes because it's a residential home in a nice setup instead of a nursing home. The ratio between staff to patients is better. I like the homey environment. It's very clean, sunny and odor free. The community in general is friendly and family oriented. It's a very much personalized care. They have their own room and they can bring things from home. She is in a single room in a house like a one floor living. The food is excellent. They serve organic and homemade meals and nothing with preservatives. She's very happy there. I feel like that they have a team effort in trying to coordinate care. They have very open communication and I feel very comfortable to discuss with them how things are going with my mother-in-law.

The house smelled wonderful - the residents were helping the staff to bake - inside the house is sunny and bright, the bedrooms were larger than I had seen at other facilities. All the bedrooms on the main level of the home which seemed to make it easy for the elderly to get around the house
