Do you not I cannot emphasize the do not enough, leave anyone you love or care about here! The management make it seem all nice and wonderful and how well your loved ones going to be taken care of but it is not that way!!! Once the week day daytime staff leaves, it's up to a literal skeleton crew of nurses aids and a couple nurses to take care of the whole facility. When you ask the manager about it, she will tell you she's at the state minimum requirement for staff. I do want to emphasis that the night staff, aides and nurses really care and do the best that they can even though they know it's not enough. I wouldn't let my dog stay there, seriously!

This is not somewhere you would place a loved one. They are entirely understaffed and very unprofessional. My husband was there for rehab and wound care treatment. Upon admission is the only time we saw a nurse, He waited over 8 hours for a wound vac, treatment, and IV antibiotic therapy the day he was admitted. Not one time in those 8 hours did he see a nurse. or get the treatments he needed.. I was more than appalled and pulled my husband out of there and to took him to the ER for treatment. I am a Registered Nurse and I am more then disgusted with this place. I would never recommend any of my patients or family members to go here. The place is in chaos. The ER physician spoke with Tendercare's house physician and he stated he never received a call by any of the nurses from Tendercare on my husbands admission. This is beyond disturbing, if I had a family member in this place I would remove them ASAP. I have worked in a nursing/rehab home and this place is just a money making machine with no thought or care for any of their patients. The building is old and run down, the only air conditioning in the building is in the hallways, the residents share a bathroom, reminds me of a run down motel.

This is not somewhere I would ever want to go again. The rehab is great. But after that hour of rehab it is not pleasant. Nursing screwed up my medications and I went into a seizure and had to go to the hospital. The food was lukewarm by the time I got it. Soggy toast cold coffee burnt overcooked food. Nurses and staff complaining about there job and they are waaaay understaffed. Being woke up to have my wound taken care of. Always asking for something to drink. Not sure I would let my dog stay there.

I understand the purpose of nursing homes and the function that they provide to our communities. The backbone of the nursing home is the staff. They're are always good and bad apples. I never witnessed any abuse by any means, but I did witness, a type of detachment of the care providers from the resident. I thought the food was very unappetizing, I visited with more than one patient that stated they did not care for the food, but on the other hand I talked to some that had no real problems with it. My biggest concern was that I was told that the facility had a strict no lift policy, but I witnessed staff members on multiple times lift by hand. They let the residents smoke outside. The nursing assistants were some of the nicest people I have ever met. Nurses working there not so much

This facility was interactive to those would were able to be involved in activities. One problem was that workers did not try to involve those who were physically handicapped and unable to get out of bed.

My grandfather was living in Tendercare here for four years before he passed away in July of 2006 and our experience of the facility at the time was not exactly satisfactory. They were very understaffed, the rooms were very small if they had two people living in the same room, you could smell urine right when you walked into the building but at the time that was they only place here there was for him to be taken care of. He seemed to be ok with his living arrangements it was just hard on us as his family to have to see him there. In March of this year my father was placed in the same facility and they had done some major improvments. Remodeled some of the rooms, new flooring, new decorations which was nice and you could NOT smell urine when you walked in. Thankfully my father was only there a short time for physical thearpy and returned home only after a month of being there. The staff that they do have are some pretty amazing people. Very friendly, outgoing, and they do their best with what they have to work with. Definately takes a stronghearted person to work in that field.
