My relative stayed in Tender Care Group Home Inc. I didn't care too much for it, but he liked it a lot. As a matter of fact, in his last days, he had hospice going out to him because they came to see him two times a week. The staff was very affectionate with them. The only thing I disagree with them about is the staff-patient ratio. They had four to five people, one volunteer who came twice a week, and then an RN who was there. My loved one didn't get the attention that he needed. Other than that, he enjoyed his stay there. When he came there, he was walking on a walker, but at the end of it, he was in a wheelchair, then he got bedridden, and he was going to the doctor. I never got a chance to sample the food. He didn't complain too much. He liked the food there. Most of the clients there were incontinent. Most of them had pull-ups. They had to be assisted with toilet training, with bed-wetting, and with bathing. Everything was done in the beds. The rooms were very stuffy because they had no electric fans or electric heaters. They wouldn't allow stuff like that. It had a stuffy smell to it. There was poor ventilation there. When they turned the fan on, the individual said it was too cold there, so you had to deal with that. You can't have both; it was that type of thing. They're very sensitive to temperature now. Regarding activities, they had an activity once a week. Other than that, I didn't see them too much during the weekend.
